  • I had the same thing happen with Lancashire police. A driver used his car as a weapon and repeatedly, knowingly and willfully rammed me off my bike. I was nearly crushed underneath by the 3rd or 4th time. He got out and punched me round the head so many times he smashed my bike helmet to pieces. He then dragged me up a side street by my hair in front of many witnesses. He used the remains of my helmet and the straps, twisting to garrotte me and tried to end my life. As I marked his face when struggling to free myself and get air, Lancashire police logged it as a "fight" and bullied me by stating that if I pressed charges, that they would press charges against me also.

Sure cities come with degenerates as well but at least it’s a wider area for you to avoid them. Then there’s rural which is the opposite, you live on a country lane by yourself you can avoid everyone altogether. • Think about it from the perspective of the police man. Two men walk up to you both claiming the other attacked them. You sperate them and take statements, your shown a video of both men fighting, the friends of both men claim the other was the aggressor and instigator. You detain both men temporarily hoping that over time and with the help of cctv it will become clear who is the perp and who is the victim. Unfortunately the cctv doesn’t clearly show how the fight started. You temporarily further detain both men in an effort to get to the bottom of how things started before eventually having to let them both go without an arrest because its not clear who started what. We all know that CV wouldn’t have started it, we all know the guy in the wheel chair is lying but the police don’t know this. Could the police have been more polite maybe, could they have explained it better maybe but they aren’t going to be perfect whilst policing a town of unfriendly crack heads.

  • Hi all, 'independant witness' here. If anyone wants the truth, here it is. Prior to this event I had never heard of Charles, or ever seen the other man involved before. Despite your assumption I was telling 'porkies', I can honestly say I'm not a liar, told nothing but the truth when questioned, and I will do that here too. Let's see how long you keep this up before deleting it. I'm a photographer and was sat taking pictures of the old industrial chimneys. Unfortunately that junction has become increasingly troublesome with addicts lately. You arrived just as some argument had finished between them and two officers arrived on scene to investigate it. At this point you arrived and was getting in peoples faces with your camera seemingly wanting a reaction or attention. Most ignored you but some lads unrelated to the previous incident questioned why you was filming them. I didn't hear them because they weren't shouting, just talking. You then erupted shouting 'WELL GUESS WHAT LADS, I'M GOING TO F'IN DO IT ANYWAY'. A minute later one of the lads offered a handshake to settle the matter, and you shouted that you didn't want to shake their f'in hand. As you walked off, he asked where you was going in a way that didn't even sound aggressive, that's when you shouted you was going to his mum's house. He followed you into M&S and you was both wrapped up trying to hit each other. When the police asked me who started the fight, I told them I didn't see who struck first, the truth, and that I believed the local lad probably did after what you said to him. I believe you got a ticket anyway. I don't know how you are in other circumstances, but your whole attitude in person was one of smugness, self importance and ego that wanted an inflammatory reaction from people, and got one. Maybe it's an act and all just to create content that pays, I dunno man, I just don't see what's so hard about treating people as equals and just being nice to folk. It's extremely hypocritical for you to tell the policeman questioning you that he should be politer to you (he was polite), straight after you couldn't be polite to locals when they asked why you was filming them. You're the one in a position of power with the camera and a following, so why not take the lead of being the better person and reducing a situation instead of amplifying it? Unless of course that was your intent. In normal situations I'm happy to be a silent witness, but you tried to paint yourself a helpless victim to the police, and now your video is edited to the same effect. You may be making money from this situation you caused, but at least the local lad has kept his integrity by defending an insult to his mother. I doubt you'll ever return to Burnley, but if you do, maybe try showing some of its better qualities instead of seeking out its worst. I know this was an essay, but in the interest of fairness I had to be thorough as I don't intend to post further. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

  • I went to Burnley Burger King, when a copper pulled in the drive thru behind me, unbeknown to me my insurance had been cancelled due to a £4 discrepancy. 8 police cars turned up for me. 8. Ultimately fruitless for them, they phoned my insurer and it was sorted immediately.

  • I visited Burnley this morning and had Breakfast with my wife at the Weatherspoons, Boot Inn. I stood at the counter and heard another customer complaining that it was taking extremely long to get served. He made his feelings known to the person who eventually served him in a constructive and polite way and this resulted in the bar tender asking him to leave. He said I’m not leaving I haven’t done anything and he walked over to a table and sat down. The bar tender, who I presume was the duty manager followed him to the table and repeated her request that he leave. Again he refused and he sat down quietly on his own without causing any disturbance to anyone else including the Weatherspoons staff. Within 10 minutes, two male Police Officers arrived and went to speak to the man. He explained that he understood they wanted him to leave but said he was going to remain seated in a peaceful manner. The two Officers then forcefully grabbed his arms, handcuffed him and put him in the back of a van. I was absolutely stunned! I went outside to explain that the gentleman had not committed any crime and it did not warrant him being handcuffed and arrested. The officer might as well as told me to f**k off. He wasn’t interested in a witness statement from me. They were clearly going to throw the book at the poor guy no matter what. Lancashire Constabulary are a disgrace.

    • Another case of the Police acting as an unpaid bouncer for private companies. Perhaps they are unaware that trespass is a civil matter.

    • Licensed premises... He can be removed with force if asked to leave and he refuses. Different story if it wasn't licensed of course.

    • @@devnull08 You are incorrect sir. He wasn't using any force, nor was he threatening to do so. So for the purposes of ejecting him, despite these being licenced premises, it was both disproportionate and unlawful.

    • @@devnull08 , I would have thought that would only apply if he was being disruptive or violent. I would assume that the Police invented some public order offence to cover themselves.

  • The police have a right to ask you to stop recording. You can also tell them to get stuffed. Charlie, you caved bruv, you really did. You had every right to film your police experience. At the end, saying please to that pignorent person, that was cringe bruv, straight up cringe. Peace and respect to all.
