I have been thinking of replacing my pc for the iPad pro 12.9 for nearly 2 years. I do less on my computer these days so I think we are almost there. If only the iPad had a usb-c socket for data transfer to a sub hard drive or micro ad card slot like the Samsung's then it would be a no brainer for me.
Hit the nail on the head. Ive been thinking of possibly just having the new 2018 ipad pro as my main computer, but ios 12 just isnt there yet, it needs to be more macOS like, theres just too many work arounds for file management/editing etc etc that make it a headache on an ipad, its a mobile laptop replacement for me esp to do quick edits in rush/luma but fcpx with plugins gives so much more flexibility.

I upload my art videos from the ipad pro 2018 in 4k60, and works well, even from my cellphones mobile data. I just need to wait almost 20-30 minutes for youtube to process it after the upload. Oh, and i do everything on the ipad. Drawing, video editing, and not much else I need right now. I also have a pc for gaming and watching movies on the tv.
Thanks for the honest heads up. To me it seems that you could do almost everything on an iPad but also almost everything needs you to jump through some extra hoops to get there. Using a macbook 12'' or pro 13'' does not force me to go through the hassle and is not that much heavier. So - like i commented some videos ago on your channel - IMHO its not worth the effort yet. And again - sorry for any mistakes grammatically or spelling. I'm not a native speaker, so...
Hey no worries. I completely agree with you statement. It’s the conclusion I came to myself. We are getting very close though. If we can get some adobe CC desktop apps on the iPad I would be a very happy camper.
Its all about the user experience. The most simplest things that u can do on a desktop but u need to jump to many hoops with an ipad makes it not an enjoyable experience - every tool has its use. Dont get me wrong id love to replace my desktop for a more simple setup, but i just dont think its there yet which is a shame, one day though 👍
Really excellent video Joseph! I am where you were a few months ago having just purchased LFusion on a new IPad. Its a great experience and i also share your enthusiasm with how it can edit and playback 4K rez from my Panasonic and IPhone. I'm going to plan a substantial and experimental video project. It will be a learning process with likely alot of hiccups but will keep it all within LFusion, 4K clips and use LUTS. I've done simple videos on PPro mostly static shots but i already like the experience of editing with an APencil/IPad. It made me wonder too how much i could port over from my PC. Hope to do all my 2D and Video on IPad with Audio and 3D on desktop at this point. Wish LFusion would make an After Effects replacement. What they have done is amazing and now wouldn't surprise me if they could do some higher level motion graphics. Thanks Joseph and congrats on your wedding! Peace.

So far, i wish there were Layer Modes. Probably my top feature request for LF. :) Did a bunch of 4K Tests with Color and it was successful. Getting used to transfer/organizing files with ICloud/GoogleDrive. Will need to get more space eventually. Like you mentioned, getting used to the iOS way of doing things.
Nice! I'm thinking of getting an IPad to edit vidoes & pictures.. What about now with the new Ipad OS 13? Have you tried it? I hear file management is way better!

Can you use dual Bluetooth connectivity? For example, if I’m using the Brydge keyboard, can I also be using AirPods at the same time?
How do you import your video clips into Lumafusion itself? I've really been struggling with that. I really don't want to use Photos and iCloud since those files don't actually stay on the device once they're uploaded to the cloud. Sitting down to edit only to realize you need to download 16 gigs of files stinks.
Yeah unfortunately the only way to access the actual footage would be to upload the files directly to photos. Or download from something like google drive.
Screenbite I just figured out an easy way to do it. 1. Import to Photos app from SD card reader 2. Share to Files app 3. Choose "On My iPad" > Lumafusion > UserMedia and 'Add' 4. Voilá, all your videos are instantly in the "Imported" folder in Lumafusion. I then just delete the videos from Photos app before they get synced to iCloud.
I don't know if you did this but you need to manually enable the setting for the highest quality of video from the KZhead app settings. Otherwise it's really bad.
Try using the Puffin web browser for video uploading
