Being an 63 year old Australian living in the UK I grew up shooting air rifles and fishing. Love your video Max, in a world of Woke where young people think that food comes from supermarkets in plastic packets it was nice to see you go out doors and get a meal from the land just as we did when we where kids. I believe you should never shoot or fish anything you are not prepared to eat with the exception of rats. Which other creatures will benefit from. The Australian :)
Thanks alot mate super appreciate the comment and thanks for watching ❤️
Fantastic stew! 1st time viewer here. Watched with my 10yr old. Very educational!
Thanks alot mate hope they enjoyed it to. Cheers for watching
It’s important for people to know these skills can come in handy
I think we have become way to tame in modern life.
@MAXIMOUTDOORS so true.
Utube is where I learned how to prepare my game. I believe Utube have decided to stop showing these kinds of video's soon.
I sure began to take hunting more seriously when COVID disrupted the supply chain.
Russia will be invading in the near future but I don't think air rifles will suffice lol.
Thoroughly enjoyed that thank you Max. I can see the making of something special here. Thank you mate
Thanks a lot mate. I seriously hope so indeed 🤞

Brilliant vid pal very interesting keep up the good work pal
Thanks alot mate. Glad you enjoyed it
I was enthralled with the video. You get some that just go shooting for shooting sake, but you kill, clean, and cook. The sad thing today is that most young ones wouldn't have an idea where meat comes from. I've never heard of gutting a rabbit that was so clean and quick, too. A few questions. The garlic, do you pull the bulb up too or just use the leaves? I remember as a kid making nettle beer for my old man. With rabbit skin, do you cure this and make anything, or is it discarded? It is amazing the countryside we walk through, and our ancestors would see it all as food, but we don't. I really enjoyed this video. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for taking us through the whole process. No waste at all, kudos. One last question if I may, you rifle, as it's an air rifle, do you need a licence in the UK or not. I'm not getting one, but I'm interested in the law. It is good of your friend to give you a free reign of his land too.
Wow what a brilliant comment, thanks for taking the time to write that out, where do I start?.... So firstly you can eat the whole of the wild garlic plant, as you can the dandelion aswell. I however only pick the heads and a few leaves as that's what I like to eat, give the plant a break to. Secondly I love nettle beer, I haven't made it this year though so maybe that's what I will do soon. Secondly I don't use the rabbit skins for anything but I leave them in the same places for the fox's and other wild animals as I have seen them play chew them up, they really seem to love them. I would have loved to make some rabbit skin gloves one day! The gutting method is some what brutal but so is any type I guess and we just have to be responsible and respectful for what we are doing, I'm such a believer in that if you eat meat then you should be able to collect and prepare it yourself. Lastly the rifle is a pre charged pneumatic air rifle under 12ft lbs of muzzle energy. That is the limit in the UK before you need to own a fire arms certificate. Thanks for watching mate
@MAXIMOUTDOORS thanks, appreciate the response 👍
Reading these comments and I agree with you 100% People think meat or feed in general comes in cellophane wrapped from the grocery stores. If people catch their own meat they will respect it more.
100% the truth, it crazy that some people even couldn't eat something they have watched shot and butcherd but a chicken nugget goes down easily. Dumbfounded
@MAXIMOUTDOORS In England and Wales you can have a 12ftp air rifle without a licence here in Northern Ireland you need a firearms certificate for anything over 1 joule and in Scotland you need an air rifle certificate for anything over 1 joule when it come to firearms and air rifles the laws is different according to each country in the UK Scotland having the strictest, Northern Ireland is the most slack due to the fact we can have handguns, personal protection and conceal carry and England and Wales is in between but very similar to eachother
Absolutley brilliant video max 🙂 class!!
Thanks for watching mate and for taking the time to comment 👍
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS keep up the good work, your a natural at making video's. 😄
Hey pal just found your channel great content and outdoor skills keep up the great work and you got a sub from me 👊🏼
Cheers mate, massively appreciated the comment!
Very good video my new friend! You have a new subscriber. Very good to see someone eat the game they take instead of just a person shooting pest animals like squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs and more and leaving it for cats and coyotes. Your skills on foraging wild greens impressed me. I have two airguns. Airforce Condor SS in .25 caliber pushing seventy foot pounds of energy and a Hatsan Bullboss in .22 caliber pushing thirty eight foot pounds of energy with a hot tune and heavy pellet. Hard hitters for sure but would definitely need a fac license for them over there. Probably worth it though at least I would think. Thank you for your video was great 👍😊 By the way greetings from Kentucky.
Thanks a lot Shawn. Holy shit balls! .25 on 70 ft lbs 😧😧😧 I need me one of those!!! I can even imagine the power in that. What range are you zeroing that thing 😂 that would evaporate rabbits haha. Thanks alot mate
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS your welcome. Sighted at thirty yards because that is all the space I have at the time. Power at that yardage is hard enough to nearly blow through my .22lr rated spinning targets. I could probably drop coyotes and wild hogs at 75 yards with a heavy pellet or slug on a head shot. And the power adjustment cranked up.
Yet another great video. Keep it up bro!
Cheers Gareth, glad you liked it mate 👌 get that saw out.
Just came across your Chanel, very informative, great watch, and needless to say you got 1 more sub, Cheers 👌👌👍👍👍👍
Super kind words, honestly thanks for your subscription and for watching to 👌
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS My pleasure mate Cheers
Great video. One that you could watch again & again
Thanks a lot for watching. Appreciate the comment. Cheers
Hello Max just found your channel, awesome video glad to see you picking the wild garlic one leaf at a time not grabbing handfuls of the stuff because Arum and Celandine are known to grow right next to garlic and you don't want to be eating that stuff .
You definitely do not want a mouthful of arum and that's a fact 😂👎 it's always good to be careful and sparingly picking for sure 😊 cheers
Great video Max! Made me wanna get out and about again. 🏕️ 🐇
We'll get out there bud. Cheers for watching dude. Hopefully see you soon
Cracking video buddy right from start well done 👏

Better video than I expected 🎉
Nice comment mate, I'm glad it exceeded your expectation 👍 cheers for watching
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS subscribed good stuff
Great footage. I've never seen that technique of gutting a rabbit, will need to try that. Looks a nice healthy meal other than the teflon coated wok as teflon is carcinogenic. I use stainless steel or titanium pans.
Teflon is terrible isn't it! I've got to be honest I don't think any of the teflon is left on the pan. I love my stainless pan but it was at a friend's at the time of that video. Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciate it.
Enjoyed that buddy, just subscribed
Thanks a lot mate. Cheers for watching and subscribing

Greast video , very imformative , when i fish the beaches here in cornwall i camp, catch and cook . But the dunes i park in are full of rabbits . After seeing this im gonna try rabbit for a change which I have been wanting to do for a while now . Thankyou

Cheers for watching 👍 love fishing myself and please do go and bag a few bunnies. Go with a stew first I would and then expand 👍
Man: That squeezing method is awesome! I'm definitely going to try it next rabbit I take.
Thanks mate, it's great if you haven't got a knife but be careful not to blow up the guts inside the bunny. That's the risk
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS Do you think starting an inscision could help reduce the risk: or does it only work under pressure? Thanks for the tip and quick reply!
Just subscribed. Good video

Very nice my friend 😊
Thanks alot mate👍
Iv owned BSA Scorpion and Ultra both awesome Weapon Systems
Cheers for watching mate, I really would like a r10 as I had the old super10 once and it was fantastic. I've used an r10 a few times and it was fantastic.
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS Ooft what a weapon mate the HW110 is my favourite of all time tho very pricy but the best air rifle on the market .... i had a custom MTP rubber stock but i had to sell it a couple of years ago im still gutted about it ... Do you build hides or anything like that? We like building a hide for night in a good spot and waiting under a camo net amazing how things have changed in last 20 years
Yes I used to be well into hide shooting and I've only ever shot a hw100, that's was off the scale good. Hasn't the hw110 not got the to6 trigger and has a non adjustable trigger? I bet it's still as good as any wierach though. German engineering see, rediculously good.
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS Yeah exactly that mate they can have issues with the seals tho but just though constant use... iv gone back to springs because i got annoyed with carrying a pump or C02 with me when out for 3 nights plus i spring break barrels are very easy to take apart and maintain properly and easy to mess with ;) ... I once put a 18ft spring in it and it felt like shooting a 50 cal with the recoil so instead played with the the trigger mech and restricted it to 11.5 foot per pound and its a one shot wonder ... iv been pheasant hunting with it and although not successful had a great time im looking at getting another ULTRA SE or HW110 for proper pheasant stalking but the M4 custom does an awesome job at rabbits and it looks awesome when turning up for a hunt 🤙
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS apologies for the spelling the IPAs are strong in this one .... awesome content mate im a new sub so im looking forward to views your vids and shorts 🤙🤙💪 il give you a shout out in one of my vids if i learn anything new or use any of your techniques etc .. awesome stuff fella 🇬🇧⚔️🤙
What stings you on nettles are very tiny shards of silica which pierce the skin. The silica then simple desolves in boiling water.
Thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge 👌
They also inject biochemical irritants, such as histamine, serotonin, and acetylcholine, among other chemicals. It's not just the silica spicules.
Silver Birch is native to the UK.

Skittish old bunnies see bud
Good video but can you let us know what to look out for so we we know if the rabbit is safe to eat?
That's a great question and something I will try and look to add in future videos but what I will say is that the disease moxy isn't contagious to humans so that you could actually eat a rabbit infected but would you want to 🤢🤢
@MAXIMOUTDOORS okay...but you're going have to supply the toilet paper if I get the squirts!
Your on your own 😂

How do you identify the wild Eatables
