8 Signs You're a Highly Sensitive Person with a Strong Personality

Highly Sensitive People (HSP) make up 15-20% of everyone all over the world, and even rarer are those who are both HSPs and have a strong personality. Do you consider yourself as a highly sensitive person (HSP) or an empath? Are you among those who consider sensitivity a weakness? If so, that might not be entirely true. A person can be both sensitive and strong at the same time, especially an empath. Watch this video to see if you identify with some of these signs.

    • 1. Eh, I guess. 2. Not a leader, not the most confident but I can help with things. 3. Not a mediator. I like to stay out of drama most of the time, I'll knock something's on the head, especially if it's effecting me but I prefer to stay out of trouble and let people work through their own things. I draw the line at bullying tho, see point 1. 4. I suppose. Might think too much and do too little at times. 5. No. I am not afraid to lie or withhold the truth. Maybe that's me being honest lol. 6. Yeh, I prefer to listen than talk. I am not a big talker anyway. 7. Ha yeh. I prefer to keep to myself. 8. Yeh, I keep very few friends, I don't mind not having loose or casual friendships but it's easier to invest in someone who wants to be close because I otherwise like to just keep to myself. So am I a HSP lol.. 😂

    • 1. Yea, depends on who the person is 2. Now leading my family's business. Not very good at it though. 3. I can only give my own advice and inputs if they come to me personally one on one. I don't think I'm great. 4. Oh definitely. It can take me days or weeks. My dad warned me it might lead me to being ill though. 5. I was too honest once and it destroyed my relationship. It's still hard for me to lie and rather tell the truths though. 6. Yes. I have many friends that told me that before. 7. Not at all. But I do make my own decisions and rarely regret them. 8. Yes. With the current life I'm leading it's almost impossible to find them.

How is it that people are so bonded I'm larger friend groups, in a sweet and authentic way, when it means there's too many members to keep track of and look after?

Of this because we are confident and friendly so make easy friendships but we don't stand for bull so when see it in people we either call it out or shut down towards them. The best part is that we eventually get a genuine pool of people 🙂 it's a great filter. Seems like a curse at the time lol.

Honestly its tiring at this point 🙈 @Darko, be who you are and accept your flaws and strengths. Your strong right now being open and honest to stranger's on the internet, don't allow bullies to put their knee on your neck, take the wrong doer to the side and call them out. Be cautious that some people will agitate you even more, stand up for yourself anyway. Everytime I've stood up for myself it always ended in a fight, I'm still standing 💖

  • I was always told I was a sensitive person but was strong mentally. I never really believed all the hype I received. I just wanted to fit in with the normal people, you know the kids who were assigned to groups rather than being the leader of a group. No matter how much I wanted to be an extra I was frequently pushed into the leadership roles. I was assigned the classroom tutor because I was far ahead and had a better grasp of the information than the rest of the class. To me I was just doing my work quietly, while others saw me a some sort of guru or genius so I was voted into the position. I was Skeptical and reluctant but as I helped others it felt good to help and be a support system for others and I eventually enjoyed the position assigned to me. People came to me for help because they weren't afraid that I would talk down on them for that or afraid I would shame them. Being a leader still kinda intimidated me even with the forced lead title and I felt like I wasnt good enough. I was always praised by my peers, you're such a good leader, you're so easy to follow, you're so good at explaining. Even though I didnt see them in myself at the time. Frankly I though I was a failure who couldn't do anything. I.didnt believe I had all the skills everyone is saying I have and are praising me for. I thought I was just an average guy. But now I know I'm just depressed, with a negative outlook about everything about myself. I didnt realize I had everything people said I did. I just downplayed it as common knowledge, sense, and ideology. I didnt need to be special. This video reassures what everyone was saying about me because I've heard people say this to me.plenty of times. And its scary that I'm this gifted and don't know what to do with them next.

  • This is the best description of my spirit!!! I know I am more on the sensitive side. But in trying to find videos that describe my sensitivity and concurrent strength, I came across videos that only discuss HSP or Empaths that are way on the left. I’ve noticed from a young age that while I’m higher on the sensitivity scale, I’ve had a concurrent amount of strength. Sensitivity has a connotation of weakness and at least for me that’s never applied as I’ve always had an extra sense of fortitude. All of these on the list fit me like a glove!!! I am a mediator and arbiter of justice but, simultaneously I have no problem fiercely standing up for people being treated poorly. I love empathetic leading (servant leadership), but I can also take a back seat. I am insanely independent and work best by myself and simultaneously in love with building deep connections with people! It’s such a juxtaposition!!! I’m a Scorpio so maybe that’s why while I am deeply sensitive, I’m a take no prisoners dude when it comes to narcissistic and toxic a$6holes!!!

  • Is having a strong personality, alongside being a HSP, meant to be so lonely? I feel like I do everything according to my beliefs, yet I feel like I'm ostracized for them at times. Lost my job because my workplace wasn't distancing or putting measures into place to protect us, brought it up and ended up jobless. That's what _"justice"_ is, expecting the world to do right, when in reality, we all make due with what's left of this mess.

I don't think they realize that often, I just need a little encouragement, even if it doesn't seem like it. I remember one day I was feeling really bad, but my mom made a concerted effort to 'knock the chip off my shoulder' after I got home from school. I wanna work back to my old self

    @seolamin2347@seolamin23474 жыл бұрын
    • You already are. Your soul is the same as it was then. I also thought i was confident before and not now. But the moment you realize that you are only getting stronger than ever before, you'll open your potential. So never hold yourself back. Confidence os just a perception aboit yourself. How others perceive you is shaped by your perception of yourself. Recently my friend said she wishes she has my confidence. Shocking. But i gained it back somehow. This implies that you're always gonna be that same amazing person. So work hard and don't let yourself down. Your old self may look special to you, but you need to work towards your new better self because that is gonna be the best. Imagine, the moment those toxic people are out of your life you'll automatically shine again. Becuase if you were confident once, you're confident forever (i made that up) You'll find your way, you are not lost forever. Where there's a will, there's a way.

  • Talking about hsp.. I teared up directly when the first point was mentioned. It was mostly happiness, thinking of what I managed to become after almost ten years of various diagnosis, medications, clinics, fear and self hate, often thinking everything was somehow my fault. Overcoming everything and being stronger than ever, with just my self reflecting and self care. No doctor or medicine was ever able to help me as I did myself in about 2 years. Even now I tend to feel shame, thinking of sharing this and maybe coming over as arrogant, but every day I realize more and more that I don't need to feel ashamed of what I accomplished with 21 years old, when the majority of people can't get over their patterns and stories they tell themselves everyday, which makes them feel miserable.

  • This is great! I hate the stereotypes surrounding sensitivity. Truth is it’s incredibly difficult to be a HSP in a superficial and ignorant society. This fact alone is Segway to the cultivation great confidence and strength. It becomes easier to put your feelings, opinion, judgement, desires above others when you realize that others are less aware and intuitive. You can open to alternate opinion but when you do what we do you eventually conclude they are acting from emotions they don’t fully understand. They do not understand the relationship between their feelings and thoughts. They demand things from you in attempt to make themselves feel better and rarely aware of their true intentions. Don’t be afraid of your power.

  • Just discovered this channel and I do believe I'm a Highly Sensitive Person with a moderately strong personality. I'm not as independent and need to be around others to be more productive. But I can identify with 5/8 of these traits, especially with being a mediator, analytically and carefully considering the needs of others, active listening, and the honesty. Thanks for making these videos super clear and encouraging. It helped me on a bad day.

  • All in for the sensitive topics. This one in specific has help me because I always think it was a weakness but now I know I can be strong and I have your quote in my heart "Your uniqueness is not your weakness" 💜Psych2go💜 edit: And omg it feels so nice to have such a cute animation telling us that we arent weird or weak just sensitive 😊

  • I learned a lot from this and realized I can relate because I'm actually an HSP. I just didn't notice it back then because people always told me I have a strong personality. I didn't know that strength and sensitivity could go hand-in-hand so this video is really helpful.

  • I'm a highly sensitive but always felt ashamed for it and tried to "man up" by bottling my emotions. I dont have a strong personality but this video shows me how to develop those traits, now I can work towards being more asseritive, confident and proud for being sensitive. Thank you ❤
