I remember him saying in an interview that he wanted to find a love that will break his heart soo much that he wanted to write a song about it. And this is soo beautiful like it's soo calm and peaceful but heart-wrenchingly painful. Through this, we know that his relationship with Camila was not at all toxic but they had a good non-toxic reason which ended up taking a mature decision. If they are right for each other I wish them to reconsider their relationship again...but whatever is good for them, let them choose.

That’s one thing I like about Music.. It’s where Artists can express feelings/thoughts all from the heart and in that process it helps them get it out and helps the fans relate/get through it to.. You can tell there’s a lot of respect between the two. This song isn’t a teenage breakup song, full of anger and bad mouthing the ex in the lyrics. It’s sad, but calming and loving at the same time. There’s no details about the problem in the relationship, but you still can understand the pain. "I will love you either way" only proves how pure and mature he is. Shawn’s so talented, and he’s got one of the most beautiful souls.

This song to me means something entirely different. I know it’s intended as a break up song but it takes me back to when my son was on the icu when he first was diagnosed with cancer. He had necrosis in his throat from sepsis and was having life threatening bleeds, needing tonnes of blood transfusions. I sat by his side and said if he wanted to go he can go if he needs to. If it will bring him peace and end suffering. Don’t fight just for my advantage. “If you tell me you’re leaving, I’ll make it easy, it’ll be okay. If we can’t stop the bleeding, we don’t have to fix it, we don’t have to stay. I will love you either way”. This validates my emotions so deeply from that time. My sons ok now and still on chemo and it’s looking very good for him. The trauma is still there and this song brings me such comfort. More than a break up song x

This is so real. Sometimes those that are in love have differences that they cannot work out. They both still love the other, but are unable to fix the hurt or problems, the differences between. There are options - one can give in on their side or the other, or they can part; remain as friends, but no long be lovers, and still be okay. (It most likely won't be easy, but the choice of separating can save a friendship if their differences only cause contention and hurt from both sides).

I think the break ups that end in good terms or where there isn’t a person to blame is the most painful of them all. I am in this exact position, I grew up and changed too much for the relationship he changed too and we weren’t compatible. The song is so beautifully written. Amid the breakup news, this is -obviously- about that. What i get from it, is a level of maturity "If we can't stop the bleeding, we don't have to fix it, we don't have to stay". They love each other but not as intensively as in the beginning and the dark moments were probably more common than the good moments as of late. Although he loves her, he will not stay or try to fix it, if they're on different paths at this point. They may need this break , just to get their minds straight. The line "The future we had dreamed of, is fading to black" is so gut wrenching: when you love someone really deeply , you imagine a future with that person, and when love fades away, the harsh moment when you realize, the future you had imagined with that person, is also out the window.

This song to me means something entirely different. I know it’s intended as a break up song but it takes me back to when my son was on the icu when he first was diagnosed with cancer. He had necrosis in his throat from sepsis and was having life threatening bleeds, needing tonnes of blood transfusions. I sat by his side and said if he wanted to go he can go if he needs to. If it will bring him peace and end suffering. Don’t fight just for my advantage. “If you tell me you’re leaving, I’ll make it easy, it’ll be okay. If we can’t stop the bleeding, we don’t have to fix it, we don’t have to stay. I will love you either way”. This validates my emotions so deeply from that time. My sons ok now and still on chemo and it’s looking very good for him. The trauma is still there and this song brings me such comfort. More than a break up song x

What i get from it, is a level of maturity "If we can't stop the bleeding, we don't have to fix it, we don't have to stay". They love each other but not as intensively as in the beginning and the dark moments were probably more common than the good moments as of late. Although he loves her, he will not stay or try to fix it, if they're on different paths at this point. They may need this break , just to get their minds straight. The line "The future we had dreamed of, is fading to black" is so gut wrenching: when you love someone really deeply , you imagine a future with that person, and when love fades away, the harsh moment when you realize, the future you had imagined with that person, is also out the window.

So, on the basis that sluts move on and "mature people" fix their problems, if a person is being abused by their partner, and they have the chance to leave, (because more than often they don't.) They're supposed to stay and try to fix those problems? The book definition of a slut is a person who has casual partners. A casual partner as in their not in any sort of serious relationship and know they're seeing other people. Sometimes you want to fix it, but they already moved on long before they wanted to break up at all. Some things aren't worth saving. It's blatantly disrespectful to call someone a slut just because they decided to leave instead of staying in a relationship with someone who didn't want to be in one anymore. They can always get back together if BOTH SIDES OF THE RELATIONSHIP agree to it. It's toxic to try and force someone to try and work things out in their relationship. Now, seeing the type of person you are, you're gonna respond in 1 of 3 ways. 1. You lose the point of my comment and just start insulting me and saying I'm defending him because I'm a 16 year old girl who's in love, when that isn't true. 2. You ignore this message completely. Or 3. You go to the absolute extreme and do something uncalled for. And fyi, unless you know what it's like to lie awake at night crying and wondering if something's wrong with you because of what they said, if they'd be better with someone else because they nitpick every single thing you do, ignore you indefinitely just because you wanted to help them. To be broken down and feel like you don't deserve love. Then don't call anyone a slut. So yes, we leave, and I guess alot of people are sluts by your definition. I'm sorry about whoever hurt you, but that doesn't give you an excuse to hurt anyone else. In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
