Thomas spent 7 days exploring around the countryside of Albania in the search for some of the abandoned bunkers left behind after the the communist dictator Enver Hoxha's brutal rule from the 1940's to the 1980's. Yet what we found after a few days was so much more than we'd originally come for. The nature, the kindness of the people and the rich history blew us away. We still left wondering what the future of these bunkers holds...

I liked what he said at the end about the church and mosque putting their entrances facing each other and after prayers everyone comes together in the square so that religion doesnt divide the people. • Wow, very informative video. There is so much to like about Albania! I travel to many places in the world and what impresses me the most is the kindness of it's people. The people of Albania are just waiting to show the world their country. I went to Slovenia after the break up of Yogoslavia and the people were amazing to talk to. They loved their country and were more than willing to share it with outsiders. Thanks for helping to put Albania back on the map. P.s. Get that girl a camera! All the best

    • Better for us to help them out, I don’t think little villages like that have a ton of money. Plus, with the differences in cost of living, it’s going to be more expensive for someone in a poorer country to buy something than someone in a richer country. Like for example, buying an iPhone in Albania is about 5% of their yearly salary, compared to about 2% in the US. So it’s better for viewers to crowdfund, or even yes theory themselves could donate one as Thomas suggested, buying a camera would only be a small fraction of their budget.

If it is at all feasible and safe for you to do so, could you please visit East Turkistan (Xinjiang, China) and do some coverage there on the current genocide and mass cultural assimilation? I am from the region and due to being ethically Uyghur and Kazakh, I haven't been able to return to my homeland in over a decade. We have such a rich and complex history, and our people are some of the most hospitable people you'll ever meet. There is a lack of media coverage despite the huge humanitarian crisis. And it's gutwrenching to see my culture being erased so silently. If it feels aligned with your mission at all, I think it would be a huge honour to have you there. @Mr.Januzi@Mr.Januzi2 жыл бұрын
    • You are talking about Ferizaj they literally share the same yard. However the same can be seen all over where Albanian of mixed faith live. I am from Prizren the Mosque the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church share the same square too so people can intermingle. Take me for example a Woman from a Muslim family married to a Christian Man and we have countless cases like mine in our families. It's the Albanian culture that makes this possible, we were raised to believe in God however how you worship in him it's something personal between you and God. People think Albania is so religious tolerant due to coming out from Communism but that has nothing to do with communism and it's all about Albanian culture. You see this interfaith exchange wherever you have

  • I'm Ukrainian. I watch this video and I wish we had such bouncers in Ukraine now... They would safe many lives. I'd definitely feel safe there. I think people of Albania should definitely keep them.
