I went to Sporting Clube de Portugal (Sporting Lisbon) 1-2 FC Porto in the semi final of the Taça de Portugal 2022.
The ultras and fans created one of the best atmospheres I've seen this season! The José Alvalade Stadium was rocking!!!
Despite losing, Rúben Amorim's team have already won the Taça da Liga (League Cup) this season and are champions of Portugal having won the Liga Nos last season.

Sporting Clube de Portugal is not how "they call them selves". It's the actual name of the club since it was founded (1906)... If you or anyone call it different, you are wrong!!! But anyway, great video! Thanks for the support!

The official name is SPORTING CLUBE DE PORTUGAL, (sporting club of Portugal) yes we are based in Lisbon, but we are not Sporting Lisbon. Then you got our biggest rivals, Sport Lisboa e Benfica (SLB) know as Benfica, they are the ones who have Lisbon in their name, not us.

Watched all the videos mate. Great videos to watch. I once told my kids it’s Sporting Lisbon while in a sports store in vilamoura, Algarve….the guy was pissed. He gave me a huge lecture about it being Sporting Club Portugal, it’s never been called Sporting Lisbon.

Mate, I'm an Old Guard from Sporting main firm living in Manchesta and I strongly recommend you to watch the last 5 mins of the match v city at Alvalade. If Sporting reaches the cup final on the 22nd of May join me and I'll guide you through that experience and I'll explain you why the ultra sector was empty. You can also join me in Manchesta on the 9th for the the UCL round 2nd leg.
Why are the ultras boycotting games ?
@@nigelevans5572 Long story involving the academy invasion and the attack on players, the previous president dismissal and all aggravated with the OSG being considered illegal. To worsen the situation, the government imposed the creation of an aberration called "Supporter Card" which would confine them to specific areas on the stands but later that was revoked by the Parliament but works in Alvalade were already concluded (I believe the Board is going to undo those access works during the pre-season). There are also personal interests behind but that would be a very long convo to have it in here.
@@bernardosousa7292 I went to see Arsenal play Sporting in the Europa League in 2018 and was impressed with the Sporting 'Ultras' I developed a bit of a soft spot for Sporting and regularly checked for their results. I went with my wife to Lisbon and both loved it and vowed we'd return We went back in 2019 and were also meant to visit in 2020 but our flights were cancelled due to Covid Sadly I couldn't take my wife again as she sadly died I had two vouchers from TAP and decided to take my grandson in October 2021 and ended up seeing Sporting play Moreirense in the League and Famalicao in the Taça da Liga. We are visiting again over Easter and have tickets to see the derby against Benfica
@@nigelevans5572 I was on that match as well at the emirates and read some of the arsenal reactions online. I had no idea they'd be so impressed. Plus there were a lot of families among us but yet they joined in supporting a very weaken team being managed by a caretaker that his the son of an old glory. Ryanair is now on a dispute with the Portuguese government and as a consequence my May flights got cancelled. So I'm only going in July when there are no matches (hopefully there'll be the Cinco Violinos Trophy but it's not actually a competitive match). Sad to hear about your missus but I hope your grandson has a great baptism and that you manage to avoid the April Showers. #SS

We are set to win the league this year and we have a chance of winning the Portuguese cup and the Europa league so the treble is on sight! This was a fantastic game from a Porto point of view. We played too poorly in the 1st leg, even if it is City we're talking about, we played bellow our quality, a lot of young players, not really used to this kind of stage so they probably got nervous. If we do play with our starting 11 i hope the boys will keep their cool this time and show them our quality.

Another great video, yep This is football in Portugal one of the most important things to the portuguese people and also for portuguese econemy... since you were talking about titles for the 3 grandes let me tell a fact about Sporting... We are not just a football clube, yeah the biggest part is football but we are a club of many sports, like indoor soccer, hoquey, volleyball, basketball, running, judo and many more and in that mather we are one of the worlds most succefull clubs and not sure right now but at one point not that long ago we were the second or third Clube in the world with more sports tittles from all sports combined...
