After endless planning to craete what we believe would be the perfect chateau kitchen, we finally get stared. We have to replace the fake Terra-cotta tiles with real stone, but in order to create a even surface for the new flooring, we need to evacuate 30 m3 of landfill and gravel, and we decided to bring in big machinery.

  • Keep up the good spirit ,guys!! One day, your grand children will come on holiday in their grand parents lovely and finished house. One day, when your bodies don't work like they used to, you will be able to rest and enjoy the fruits of your labor. It took my grand parents 10 years to build their house on weekends and holidays. Don't count the time. If your main tool is love ,you'll get there. I wish you a lifetime of happiness in your beautiful house.

  • I love orange accents. Our house is mainly brown wood, granite etc, white walls but we have bits of green and orange lighting up the corners. An orange vase, some salmon throw pillows. Green and orange table runner. Lots of flowerpots and herbs. Theyre small details that dont detract from the main color scheme but they brighten up the room.

  • The grey-green-beige color you found behind the old cabinet would be a lovely color for the cabinets, light and clean with a bit of warmth. That type of in-between shade has been quite popular recently and although I have no idea if it is in any way period appropriate, I think it would give off a similar feeling as a lot of the other colors you chose for the chateau. Just a thought I had while watching, I am sure Anna will pick the perfect colors

    • Sometimes the age appropriate colors such as old colonial american colors can be so dark and not happy colors. It could be the same in france. and then again maybe not. I love the old colors of france. Like Ones we saw for provincial france. Except not that typical bright brown yellow so popular way backwhen. But that is just me... and yeah I love the greens too. She has such good design ideas that we usually like what she does. I guess since shes done other kitchens and buildings she is learning what they like. Whether she wants something different and new idea or something she is comfortable having and wanting based on other buildings is the anticipation I have.
