Pretty much.
And the standards would be worse than Christmas letters that you give to distant relatives
"looking at" doesn't necessarily mean "getting"
I mean, that cop was wrong. Think of it, there isn't a crime/punishment for "length" of chase so as soon as she "failed to stop" she was getting the same punishment regardless. So in a way, she might have well had her fun.
@@midgetwars1 She was going to have evasion, like you said, it doesnt matter how long for, but its still a bigger punishment then if she did stop

Big deal grow up in Australia we love Aussie legends like Ned Kelly
So the penalty was cancelling a licence she did not have, drug rehab she should be going to anyway, and 100 hours of community work. So really the only penalty is 100 hours of community work. What happened to community expectations? No wonder crime is rising in Vic. Meanwhile the victim who had their car stolen, gets an inadequate payout from the rip-off insurance company and increased premiums because of the claim. Plus if it was stolen near their house, the crime statistics for their street go up and so does their house insurance premium. Plus the taxpayers have to pay for damaged police cars, and for higher police numbers for dealing with repeat offenders. How long until the police pick her up again? How about a "GoFundMe" to build more prison cells? Who's in?
That's the insurance company brother, she got off lightly because if it was a minority everyone would be on here saying send them back to whatever country they're parents are from. The "war" on drugs and police dickheads need a wakeup call
@@UNCLEBILLYTEE if it was a minority you would've had the local community leader from they're group trying to get them off WITH NOTHING. Like the aboriginal kids stealing motorbikes in NT and WA.
I would go for a GoFundMe to get advocates to push for a law to let the cops open fire on these idiots so they're not driving crazy for HALF AN HOUR on the streets before they're stopped. Last thing I need driving a campervan is some idiot on ice plowing into the back of me. While the cops have let her drive for half an hour.
@@OffGridInvestor well that just isn't true and the aboriginal kids stealing is a result of what happened to a past generation. If you don't think so, then your just as ignorant as the rest. Let's put these kids in places with drug addicted parents and alcoholic elders and see how they grow up in society? But we said sorry as a nation and hand out free money like that solves the issue. I'm half Maori half Australia and live in a relatively nice area here in Sydney, made money and still get marginalised. People joke and say I'm a drug dealer or a scaffolder, but if I was a white Aussie it would be normal, that's the problem. Just like your backwards BS thinking.
@@OffGridInvestor you know how many times I've pulled over "randomly" asked why I'm in this area and checked my address, you know how many times I've been not let into club due to my cultural tattoo or being of Maori decent. that car was parked on my street for 4 days, then taken by a woman, then later that day or the next day, she was in a pursuit, which was this. Pretty crazy.
It's unbelievable! She did not go to jail! Come on! At the very least it should be 2 years behind bars if you run away from the cops. We are way too soft!

Absolutely top stop-stick deployment - well done that cop!
I'm just surprised that the CID detectives had stop sticks
@Ebz E So she deserves special treatment because she is a woman?
Pit Maneuvers Are Even Better
Wow, there's no incentive to stop if you're back out the next day... I don't think the disqualified licence will bother her considering she never had one and i wonder if they enforce the community service?
Yeah, we seem to have a case of first/second chances here, you'd likely get it light on your first violation, but if you get caught the 2nd time, you'd likely get the rulebook thrown at you.
Thanks for sharing. So much better without a dozen ad breaks.
6:26 love how she still remembered to signal
I like how they're still using the turn signal.
Probably so amped that she did it unthinkingly, like pretty much everything else she did that day.

Werribee.... I had the pleasure of staying there once. I didn't know places like that existed in Australia. I've never been happier to get back to Adelaide.
Thanks for the great quality video
Should have boxed her in after 2 minutes, this took way too long.
Then the taxpayer has to fork out to repair all the cop cars. She was going nowhere after they deployed the stop strips. The cops were just being patient and practical.
I think at the lights, they thought they boxed her in - as her car was surrounded by not only the police cars but also all other traffic.
Absolutely. Cops did such a pathetic job. Could've just smashed the window and dragged her out when it was stopped at the lights. Such a joke.
Can't do that in Australia. For the incredible police states we have, we don't do chases properly. Or hostage situations, apparently.
Yeah Victoria Police is really disappointing, even in the ways they handle domestic terrorism.
Cop - " You shoulda just stopped coz now you are looking at a lot worse things" Magistrate " Yeah nah let's just give her a slap on the wrist"
Good thinking using the Stop Sticks while the car was stationary at the lights. They were effective in preventing a high-speed pursuit.
8:10. He said, "I think the rear right is deflated as well". Good observation mate!
If this was in America, it would be like put your BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM hands up. "I swear she was reaching for something" Oof
US coppers still draw their firearms even if the perpetrators car rolls ten times and is decapitated .
And Being Pit Maneuvered
I like how the film crew cut the section where the police obviously smashed the front window for no real reason considering the car was stopped and surrounded.
She locked the door. Smashing the window makes unlocking it easier.
@@JBofBrisbane seen a few hoons try the door locking trick when caught red handed. All very surprised the police broke the window to get in, acted so shocked like it wasn't ever a possibility they ever thought of happening.

You can tell that Australian police don’t do this often. She’s stopped at the lights and 3-4 cars can’t even block her in 😂

They don't care. if she killed someone or a someones child while being chased she would have got out of jail in under a decade.

Two years suspended and community service? You get more than that for speeding - pathetic.
Typical Australian justice system
well, you dont actually. but all things considered, this was just (dramatically) failing to stop. do you really want to end up like the USA where there are guns drawn and putting people away for years for small things?
By my count (and ignoring the non-driving related charges) it's:- - using false plates - dangerous driving - 2 counts (rammed another car at the start of the chase + the chase itself) - leaving the scene of an accident - failing to stop for police - unlicensed driving - drive uninsured vehicle We don't need guns, but that's very light when a speeding fine can result in 12 months suspended regardless of where it occurred. Ramming the police car at the start should have resulted in jail time right away.
