Richard III’s Skeleton
If you think you’ve been living a mundane life in a suburb don’t give up hope yet. This discovery gives us hope that miracles can be found anywhere, even in a parking lot! This is the story of the discovery of Richard III’s skeleton. King Richard was the king of England who died during a bloody battle at the age of 32 in 1485. Talk about a sad fate! Centuries later, human bones were dug up in a parking lot in Leicester, England, turning the quiet lives of its residents upside down.
The telltale curvature of Richard III's spine, as told in history, combined with more pointed evidence, and experts confirming that the DNA found inside matched the descendants of Richard III! How cool is that? Further investigation revealed that the list of the great king’s descendants is rather long, and includes everyone’s favorite Sherlock Holmes, English actor Benedict Cumberbatch! We’re telling you our minds were collectively blown at this reveal. More power to science and discovery!
MacDermott Castle
Attention all horror movie enthusiasts, here’s a spooky house to haunt your dreams and give you insomnia. With multiple trees surrounding it to make access impossible, Macdermott is not really a residence, it’s a death trap! The castle’s dark history is a sad reminder of the curse that nature often puts on mankind. The MacDermott Castle was built as an extension to the main residence, which burned down in 1957.
But this isn’t where its tragedy ends. In 1184, a brutal lightning bolt struck the building killing almost 140 people! Later, W.B. Yeats, a legendary Irish poet of the 20th century wanted to turn the castle into an artistic centurion site. However, that project never really worked out, and for good reason. It’s not a house, it’s a trap that looks like it could kill you.
