Why Different Car Engine Placements Matter | Explained
Front, mid and rear-engine cars, the names are self-explanatory; they describe the location of the engine in a car.
1) A Front engine vehicle has an engine at the front of the car.
2) In a mid-engine car, the placement shifts to the rear of the driver.
3) Similarly, in a rear-engine car, the engine moves further away from the front, that is, behind the rear passenger seats.
The engine placement is not just about finding the right location to mount the engine. There’s much more significance to the location of the engine in a car. Whether it’s a front, mid, or rear, each configuration affects the key aspects of a car.

7:52 Oh I miss my Spoon! The Honda S2000 was such an awesome car.
Dude, the S2000 had a front engine.
Bros voices got to him 😭😭
Mid-engines can be in mid-rear like Audi R8, Lamborghini, ferrari... and can also be mid-front like the Mercedes SLR and SLS...
Or like all bmw are front-mid, not the MINI cooper platform
Citröen's D, ID & DS series were front-mid engined, front-wheel drive. Mazda's RX7 & 8 were front-mid engined, rear drive.
I've actually seen rear engine cars with front wheel drive. Its not very common but such thing does exist
They're called forklifts.
The Citroen SM tried to offset the weight issue of front wheel drive by placing the engine behind the transaxle and the hydraulics pump over the transaxle and keep the weight centered over the front axles.
Hey bro i want to know about the names of all books to become a professional automobile engineer.

EV behaves like a midship engine car.
They typically have 50/50 weight distribution, like a front engine rear wheel drive car
Most people prefer front engine, me too. Front engine is more practical, more appealing.
