I spent thousands of dollars bringing a cat from a war zone that was a kitten and crawled into my bunk in Iraq. Tai was a relief from the stress of being in combat. When I was gone others would take care of him. He saved me more than i saved him.
That would be the best counselling in a war situation hope it's doing well !
My heroes...💝💝
How is he doing now?
Please make a video about your cat story!! It doesn’t have to be fancy...even just telling the story w her in your lap and showing some photos would be awesome. 😍😍😍😍
So glad that both of you are safe.
That's not a feral cat. It was likely either dumped by people or got lost, and probably not too long before you found it. Keep that cat. It's special.
Believe it got dumped and they almost did that again...omg
Was just about to say that, real strays don't approach people so comfortably. Definitely got ditched. I'm glad they turned around to pick her up
She's special*
It's Montenegro where they found her. I've been there before. Most of these cats aren't feral strays, but domesticated strays. People generally take good care of all cats, and in turn the cats are free to roam and take care of the snakes and mice. So they are all pretty much half stray, half domesticated, and very used to humans.
it?
I could not imagine forming that bond and then leaving the cat behind to fend for herself in the first place! That made my heart SINK! Thank goodness they had a change of heart!
I know...
yep, stupid people.
......Hell no!.....Had I formed that bond with a kitty, only way I'm leaving her behind is feet first and a toe tag! (My toe!)
Yeah that was awful i hated them then lol.
Van blogger millennials are generally awful narcissistic people. All they want is attention and "stories". 🤢🤮
Man my heart broke when they said "we decided to leave her there" I can't understand how that thought even crossed your mind 🥺 Glad you saw sense and went back for her. She trusted you with all her heart!
Im glad they quickly regretted it and took her anyway
Considering I've had cats my whole life and am VERY familiar now with their instincts and how they think and feel, I definitely would have never left him there. As would be the case for most of us who watch/subscribe to the Dodo and other animal/pet channels. But I would imagine these 2 were likely either not accustomed to a cat before in general, or at least not familiar with feral cats. I mean in general, you want to leave all wildlife in their natural environment, even if they interact with you or you just feed them, and that's the advice most often recommended and promoted by companies and advocates. I mean I'm sure most of us watching cat videos on here are aware of the difference between friendly wildlife and feral/homeless domestic animals. But simply not being aware that they're 2 totally different concepts/scenarios with solutions in the best interest of the animal that are total opposites not only would be enough to confuse me hypothetically, but then to keeping in mind how often it's said that cats like familiar environments and routines - often worded that they're creatures of habit - I mean looked at from this concept, I can immediately understand how they decided that, and the fact that the bond was strong enough to convince them to turn around, I would bet they didn't make that decision lightly. I mean she clearly comes across as a generally intelligent, rational, and good-hearted person, so luckily after thinking about how strong their bond was and probably endlessly questioning their decision, she had enough intuition to turn around and reunite with their "son" that forced them to adopt him in the first place, hahaha!
Well she might have been someone else's cat.If that was a consideration seems reasonable. But I think its more likely that she was someone else cat and was abandoned. Maybe someone moved, or maybe someone died..it happens. In any case domestic cats belong in a home. They can survive outdoors but not well and not very long usually. Im really glad she got a home
Had me crying when y’all left her and decided to come back for her
Sounds like a movie plot honestly lol

I couldn't believe that they actually left her the first time. I thought, "What?! She had already let you know that she felt safe with you, not her location! Duh!"

😂😂😂
The five hours driving back would feel like eternity! Animals need to have forever homes and forever people who love them. So happy you turned around and went back for her.
Animals who are used to living outside don't necessarily need homes, tho. Some are happier outside. To say nothing of wild animals of course.
"She thinks I'm her mommy!" Leaves her behind...

AJR 1986 don’t get smacked.
There's an old saying that goes "If you love something set it free, if it comes back it's yours, if not it wasn't meant to be." Usually this applies to the humans but I'm pretty sure this is what the _cat_ did.
Indeed 🙂

Yes, she did. According to her Instagram, they left her with the fiance's parents whenever they had to go to the US. The first time they were gone, Millie went missing for a week looking for them. But the next time they visited the US, in early 2022, Millie disappeared permanently. She's never been found.

They leave... drive south for 5 hours... stop the van... slowly turn to each other... then scream, MISSSSTAAAAKE!!!
Lucky you could find her again after being gone 10 hours.
Very lucky, it's a bit of a selfish move to assume a cat will do best fending for herself outdoors; it's incredibly difficult for strays to find food. Humans poison pests and encroach wildlife areas by building more and more into them. Animals need our help and care now more than ever. Please don't ignore stray cats assuming they will be fine; seems like that's just you (people in general) not wanting the responsibility
@@tdbhmusic she was selfish at first but she realized her mistake so
@Bernie Wright She wasn't selfish, perhaps mistaken in her judgement. Living on the road and constant travelling is not what most animals would like, especially one that has been out in nature for so long. They tried to do what they thought was best for the cat, as any sensible person would. Bernie Wright is correct, selfish is certainly not the right word at all.
Tiffany Heath Actually cats are very successful hunters to the point they are endangering bird species because they hunt them not just for food but just for the sake of it,So leaving strays behind just increases the population of strays resulting in deaths for birds and potentially snakes? i know cats put up some good fights against snakes but the better route was to take the stray as just to save birds and the cat itself.
They were not selfish. It is true, moving a cat from the area they already know is a risk. And with their mobile lifestyle they weren't sure it would work out. Many cats live long lives out on their own. Selfish would've been taking her, realizing it didn't work out and then leaving her in an area that she isn't familiar with. And btw, it is best to leave stray cats alone UNLESS if you or someone you know is going to take them in as their own.
It's really strange that they could even think of leaving her.
It's very normal and sensible, actually. In general wild animals should be left alone for their own wellbeing.
Thank you so much for going back for this beautiful darling!!❤️🐱❤️ She trusts you, I could never dream of leaving her! I bet she was so happy to see you back ! She was meant to be part of your lives 🐈🥰❤️❤️❤️

This basically happened to me 11 years ago, she's currently asleep in my lap. I was walking home from a friends house and there was a lil stray kitten that someone had abandoned in an empty lot around the corner from my house. I saw her, crouched down and started talking to her. She ran over and JUMPED into my arms, not even slightly exaggerating here, she leapt at me! I carried her home and she's been with me ever since. This cat adopted ME! She's the sweetest cat I've ever known. She follows me around like a puppy and still comes when called like half the time. Used to be all the time but she's gotten a lil more independent as the years go by. I've gone to great lengths to keep this cat. She's why I got my own apartment instead of a room-mate. It was really hard to earn enough go that extra step but I couldn't leave her! Wasn't an option. She's kept me sane during quarantine! Her name is Furball. Started calling her that before I was sure I could keep her (lived with my mom when she adopted me) and it just stuck. She's been my fur-daughter through some of the worst parts of my life. We ended up losing that house because great recession and I dragged her with me through 2 relatives places before I got out on my own. I even got sober with this kitty's help!
Cool story

The fact they left her in the first place is fucked
The part where the cat climbed the ladder was what really told me she was intelligent
Also climbing DOWN the tree
I have 4 cats and they'll all climb ladders. They're all from the same bloodline tho. Also the neighbors little dog climbs ladders too. I'm convinced he is gonna join us on someone's roof someday
Heheh my cats do that too
I had a cat named Goliath who used to climb ladders. So my brother is up on the roof fixing it up and Goliath would go climb the ladder to sit with him. Just sitting properly and straight right next to him hammering without any worry. One day my bother comes in all laughing and tells me a nail got away from him, the cat sees this, goes to get the nail as it's rolling off the roof and brings it back to him. Plops it down right where he was going to nail it. People underestimate the intelligence of cats because they're not as obedient as dogs, but that's a mistake.

That's exactly what happened with each and every cat we've had.
... walked right into *his* house ...
It's eerie, but exactly the same thing happened to us. To boot, the kitten looked exactly like the one in the video. She showed up one day and got fed outside, then three days later went inside, marched up the stairs straight to the kitchen and 'announced' she's staying for good. Our older cats went insane, seeing such insolence. The oldest one, an Alpha lady, even threatened to leave us and, seeing the kid stays in the picture, tried to throw herself under a passing car nearby. I'm not making it up - I saved her in the last moment. This whole situation turned out to be a serious conundrum to solve - it became obvious one of two sides is going to have to go if we want to avoid a tragedy. Fortunately, if it is a proper word in any circumstances, the stray cat got very sick just a few days later. So sick I had to pack her up and deliver to big town vet, one of those with better equipment. I was not sure she would survive, but she did - young cats' endurance is incredible. She never returned to us though - I begged my brother, who lives is said big town, to bring her in. His own cats were much more welcoming, like city folks usually do, and went 'You're staying, kid? Whatever...'. I do not have to add she is now ruling them all with iron paw, of course.
If I walk into your house can I stay? I need a new place to live
That happened with a puppy recently

Our neighbor's cat has chosen us, but she already has people. She comes to visit us regularly and sits outside our door crying, wanting let in. We have two indoor kitties, but if that sweet cat didn't have a good home, I'd let her in in a heartbeat! She is so affectionate! I always feel so bad for shutting the door after telling her goodbye.
MrsBrit1 I was shoveling snow outside one day and this cat walked right up to me and I started petting her, thus she(KitKat) now lives with me and is now a momma cat. P.s. we didn’t breed her, she was pregnant when we got her and after that we got her fixed.
After bonding the way they all did, I couldn't leave that precious little girl behind--no way. Glad they changed their minds & got her back. I'd want her forever!

I agree. Although it's a cat, not a girl.
when they came back & started petting her, her eyes were just so full of loving happiness! 🙂
I would have never left her either !!! So happy that their amazing heart convinced them to do right thing!!!! This is prime example to use your heart to guide you and not just your head … life is so much rewarding that way !!! Thank you for doing that and now she is part of your family … thank you thank you !!
Title : Stray cat won't let traveling couple leave her behind Me, as an intellectual : Stray cat takes couple as hostages
LOL!!!
Lmfao
Are you sure your the intellectual one ? Lol
@@O_Ciel_Phant0mhive, are you sure you're an intelligent one?
LOL
When heaven sends you a gift accept it and be grateful.
Heaven? WTF?
NoComment it’s just a saying, don’t worry about it lol
@Waistband Tuck yup 100% agree with you. The worse thing i saw was someone injured pretty bad and was thanking *God* for saving this person's life when it was the doctors. Then went on saying that the doctors were God's helping hands!
Yeah...you don't say...well, THIS was fun...let's leave her!
Pets alter people's emotions thous altering people's intentions.. while man stride to live but animals stride just to survive...
She is a sweetheart! So relieved you changed your mind. She obviously adores you both.
Such a feel Great story. You three are really meant to be. Millie is so beautiful.
Please chip and put a collar on her. Other than that, awww!!!
They did. Look at their instagram for info
Humans... always want to control things and beings. If the cat wants to go then let her go she is a wild cat after all...
@@DevilWolf000 it's for the protection of the cat. If they find that, they could return her instead of euthanizing if found by animal control or a shelter with limited space
@@DevilWolf000 Not control. Take care of, provide for, protect. Just as much as children need protection, sometimes pets do too. And being a "wild" cat doesn't mean they are suited to that lifestyle.
@@DevilWolf000 how many fedoras do you own
Never should have left her...but glad you guys went back
This one made me angry. At least they went back and have brought her into their family as a permanent member.
She’s great. Smart and beautiful. Most importantly, you all need to keep her safe at all cost !
What a beautiful and affectionate kitty. I would've taken her right away, no doubts 💛🧡
we were just wanting her safe. road travel is hard to predict
@@ladiandmargaret I didn't mean to sound overcritical though 😉. I understand you were in a complicated situation. Thanks for taking care of this gorgeous kitty 😊
A couple leaves the car open Millie: *So you have chosen loyalty and servitude to me? Very well...*
Cats are the most precious friends.
Tears rolled in my eyes when I said u left her behind alone but when u brought her back again I just said thank you God and bless this ckind couple n lil kitty❤❤❤❤ salute to your venture of kindness
Please don't EVER leave her behind again. She is the best kitty ever. You are so-o lucky! :-) XX
Arber Hayes why would they do that...?
@@astraviart816 it was her natural habitat she needs to live in the wild
b o b. Kiddo, cats are domesticated. They need to live with humans to thrive and leaving her there was not a good thing. Cats are not wild, and you need to understand that. Her natural habitat is a house.
@@morningglory.2 nah fam cats are extremely independent animals and honestly dont need YOU to survive.
b o b in the desert? Ehhh not so sure but there is some animals not many also she would be way skinnier because in the philippines all the strays are skinny even the kittens too
I am from Syria During the war in Syria, our house was shelled by a rocket All my worries was to rescue my three cats and take them out of the house It's a matter of confidence
Hope you are all well.
I hope you are all ok

omg, 15 seconds into this video and i can tell that is one smart cat. what a sweetheart. you are so awesome for loving back our little wonders of the universe.
I'm heartbroken about the fact that she has been missing for the last couple of months 😞 All my support to Margaret and Ladi
Oh no! What happened?? 😢
Shocked beyond imagination you thought of leaving her behind. Happy you came to your senses...
Right on.
Like in the desert they left her wtf
Yea made me think
Ditto
Not only thought about it, they did it!! Not nice at all
"Leave her in familiar territory where she can take care of herself" so cringy glad you saw the light. Strays aren't safe on their own
Beat around the bush way of saying “we abandon her where we found her”
It’s an ugly World out there especially if you are a kitten in a World full of predators.
@@hellobye3959 yes (
@@alexs5744 Frequently stray cats are the predators, which is another reason to take her with
It's totally fine to spay/neut a cat and leave it. They are animals. You only say that because it's a common pet. You wouldn't keep the vast majority of animals in the same situation...
The sweetest story ever I loved it and I love the fact that she's going to be with you guys forever
An adventurous kitty's dream come true. To mutually add so much joy to each other's lives is the best thing in this world. I am so happy for your family and your priceless new addition. Heaven on earth!
Cats tend to choose their people. We had decided to get another pet (cat) and went to a local SPCA. We had planned on letting our 9-year old son pick one. Well as we were looking this ALL white domestic short hair picked ME! She purred constantly so we got her and I named her Snowball and she has been with us 8+ years. She still purrs as long as she's not FULLY asleep.
@@nateman10 so sweet 😻 Thank you for sharing. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Greetings to you both (nateman and Maarten) from The East Coast, USA. 😊
I would never ever leave a cat or a dog behind especially one that wants to be with you so much.
it was in its own environment long before they arrived. you think being a selfish idiot gives you moral authority? lol..what a joke. they didnt want to rip her from the world she was in before they got there. is that so effing hard for your peabrain to compute?
you would be very busy in southern europe where they have hordes of feral cats and dogs straying about. the problem is idiots who abandoned their non-neutered animals.
Ye a that’s why they didn’t leave her
0:28 I JUST really loved that picture, for some reason: The far away view of husband and wife walking, and Millie eagerly walking behind them!
Good thing they went back for that cat, cuz I was getting ready to freak out & wish all types of bad karma on them for abandoning the poor thing. So happy they came to their senses! It's obvious that the kitty loves them, & digs roaming around in their camper. All's well that ends well!😻
"We always park with our doors open" Thieves and Robbers: That puts a smile on my face
I can’t believe they left her!!!! But so glad that they remedied their foolish decision
That's selfish millennials for you, thank Christ they went back, she was waiting, just in case, humans stupid, cat intelligent, bless her
Carbon suicide mtb humans are smarter then cats it just nature everyone makes mistakes
@SgtBaker16 yeh man. Babies exist
@Zero Cool but cats are not wild animals they shouldn't live alone in the middle of nowhere. You also wouldn't leave a stray dog behind.
Adorable family! I am so glad you went back and got her...Millie is a great cat...you can just tell how she just is a soul mate for your journey!
I cannot believe all the harsh critical comments here regarding this couple's decision process in keeping Millie. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A PURPOSE. STOP JUDGING!! Millie is a lucky kitty to have found her humans! Great story! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️

Cats are so underappreciated and misunderstood, they're genuinely affectionate, not to mention incredibly intuitive, perceptive and intelligent
That's just what they want you to think!
it always amazes me how smart a cat can be when it comes to interacting with humans they know are good for them
What a lovely story....thank you for going back to get Mille. She needed a good home with people who love her and she loves back! God bless you!!👍👍💖💗💕
