The Donner UA-44 vs FDUCE SL40. Identical in price, looks, and the guts inside, but how do they REALLY stack up against each other? We put these two head-to-head to see which mic comes out on top as the better budget option to the Shure MV7.

  • I would like to hear both of these mics against the tonor td510 as I have heard people say they might share the same capsule

  • I don't have the world's best headphones (I'm on Audio-Technica MX-50s), but there weren't significant differences to me. Neither did well in the low end to my ears, but both are quite strong for streaming and podcasting. At this price point I would have loved to have heard a comparison with the Fifine AM8, which I suspect I would prefer over these two. And of course, if you have an MV7 on hand that would have been a good comp as well, given that it's the model on which these mics are based. I shouldn't even be thinking of microphones at this point, but like Bark and Bronson's videos I always enjoy yours.

    • I believe I have a recent video review with the maono pD200x in which all of those microphones were included in the comparison. 👍🏻

  • Thank you for the test, for me they sounds the same. I'm looking for some budget mics for podcasting, I need 2 of these. I was wondering about Tonor TD510, Fduce FL40, Finine AM8, Finine K688 or Maono PD200X (I listed it cheapest to most exprensive)... there are so many of these. Sadly Fifine and Maono don't make audio interfaces/mixers with dual XLR input - it such a shame, because they look so great for $50

    • The cad audio interface that has two outputs is a great budget option. One of the few that has 24 bit audio and is only $60. Absolute gem for entry/budget option with great audio. 👍🏻 Here is the link: CAD Audio CX2 2x2 USB Interface 24 Bit/96KHz a.co/d/8TZ6hqS

    • @@levelupwithmikenewman Thanks, I will look for something. I've narrowed my selection down to just three. Tonor is for $30, SL40 for $35 and AM8 for $45. I like Tonor the best, Fduce probably sounds the best, and AM8 has cool features and different colors. Which one would you choose? I can't decide :(

    • @@BetPay the tone of your voice is a big factor, but for my voice, I put the pD200x and Am8 as the top fits for my voice. AM8 is super sensitive to handling, requires attention and care to use and make sure it behaves though, but I like it when I need a mic and don’t have time to eq it, and love the pD200x more with my eq settings on it. The Tonor and SL40 have the same capsule and internals so that’s why they are so close.

  • I can't get SL40 to work via usb plugged into my pc with a USB-C to 3.5 mic plug in. Same with audio interface. Help! Plosive testing: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pod casters. Someone had to call a cab thereafter. lol

    • Not sure the proper way to trouble shoot that. I always plug my sub mics via usb-c to usb-A directly into the laptop. You may have to go in your computer settings for audio/mic and select the sl40 as you mic input in their for pc computers

    • Going to add it to the list. I love the smooth body compared to the trash can style body of the Donner and the Fduce. Very sleek. 👍🏻 hoping it performs when I grab it

    • @@theoutsiderjess4869 if they’re all close, a different look, but same budget price I’m rooting for the vague because the updated he body and made the body smooth instead of the “metal trash can”.

  • They're both the same mic both mics come from Alibaba bought in bulk and branded differently if i was too choose I would go with Donner as it gives you more and the name doesn't sound like 💩

    • @@levelupwithmikenewman when these mics came out I was suspicious how multiple brands were selling the same mic that sounded the same so I searched on Alibaba found out that they bought in bulk as the base price for it was 28 dollars and then selling it. I was disappointed and then became uninterested in the mic because none of these companies actually made the mic
