I totally get what you mean, but also keep in mind that one book will kick start her whole career. My mom is doing the same thing she is. But she's done it twice. And then another time in psychology. And that same one book my mom had that was also 1000$ started her career. Don't forget that there are multiple books for multiple classes. They are each around 300$ to 500$ and you can try to look for websites or borrow from someone for much cheaper. But you'll have to try very hard. If you succeed, it'll probably be around 150-250$. College or student loans are something EVERY college student deals with. They always figure it out someway. After they finish college, they get a job, and that job pays for the loans. But this is during college, you can't get through without having to pay for the books. Btw I'm not defending the Luigi ukelele girl, but I'm just giving you what I imagine her perspective is. And they all needed the money for basically the same thing or at least because of the same thing. You can't choose someone to get the money especially if they equally deserve it. This is college we and they are talking about. No matter how much money you'll get at the end of it. They all have loans. None of them should be voted off. Everyone is fighting for money because they all know that they all need and deserve it. They're doing what they have to to get through in life. She had to exaggerate her need for a book to get through in college. It's called strategising and you can't blame her for trying to get the money she needed just like everyone else. After all, I'm pretty sure all of us would do the same thing Luigi girl did if we weren't lucky enough to have the money handed down to us.
