What Suggestions do you have for SAIL???
I think that there should be a few clusters of of smaller islands around the map but have the larger ones more spread out. This would allow more space for enemy ships or ocean bosses

I hadn't realized that the devs for this game actually looked at the suggestions and feedback they got, so my suggestion to the forum was kind of bare bones! Now that I realize yall really listen, i had another couple ideas that might be fun to implement once the game is on a solid base. Currently Implementable Ideas: - The menu that you can open mid session should appear in the middle of your screen where you were initially looking, but should stay there instead of moving to keep in the center of your vision. - When you first exit the cave you spawn into, either your anchor should be dropped, or your sails should be raised (depending on if sail adjustment is added). - When you first exit the cave, a sword should be automatically equipped to one of your weapon slots. - When you slash an enemy with a sword, there should be visual feedback of some sort (such as a blood mist for easy rendering). Theoretical Additions to the game: -Once smaller treasure items are added (trinkets), there should be a "belt" (roughly 3 slots) around your waste you can store them in. These slots could either store trinkets (small treasure items), an ammo pouch for guns, or healing bottles. It would help with the immersion to not have to open a map for healing items, keys, and the likes. -When treasure chests can be interacted with (such as picked up), they should be given a "weight" so you can only move them so fast, or raise it so high up. This could help the treasure chests feel like they have something inside and are valuable. -Once the base game is established, the shovel should definitely be reworked so it feels like you actually have to dig up the chest. As it is, you just kind of shove the shovel into the chest and wiggle it around, the shovel doesnt really dig into the ground. Maybe make a check for if the player is holding a shovel, then check if shovel is near a treasure chest, and if both checks are cleared and the shovel goes through the ground, then begin digging animation/sequence. This sequence would just be the player sticking the shovel in the ground, then having to pull it out slowly.
I had more ideas, but I didn't want to add too much to one list, though I did go pretty over board. I just got excited when I realized that the devs really listen to feedback!
Dude this is phenomenal ideas and actually super in line with what we’re doing behind the scenes! We’ve been reworking the ships to be better at doing that transition. Equipping a weapon at start is not a bad idea if you haven’t equipped one I’m going to see if that’s not too hard to do. We’re reworking the inventory to be kind like what you were describing but we’re focusing more on interaction with the treasure that comes out of the chest. Either way I’d love to hear your feedback after the next update to see if it’s satisfactory. Seriously keep the suggestions coming!!!!

You know how u have this brilliant idea about having an ai crew and voice commands to control them, U could add being able to make fleets which u can control without being on them. Also that story idea for getting stuff is good and it would be cool if u could get ai captains for your fleet. There could also be a stats system for levelling up and ai’s
Ya the biggest thing is balancing it so it’s not op or way to hard to grind for but I do want to explore the concept more

this might be pretty ambitious but maybe a 3-5 hour campaign or story mod type thing because there are a lot of multiplayer games on the quest so maybe a bit of both would be good or maybe have it as an extension for like an extra $20-$30 bucks ish?
I’d love to do something like jack sparrow story in sea of thieves but probably won’t happen till later on but maybe I’ll throw in an Easter egg that’ll take a long time to solve :)

I really enjoyed storing treasure in my inventory and selling it at the market in the early game. I would love to see that brought back. It made the treasure more tangible.

It's a little hard with the TNT ship respawns at the moment and I would really love to see more done with the sword combat and ship interior and customisation. Just got the game today and really enjoying the sailing and looking forward to the adventure. Great work!

Maybe after say 3-4 quest completed an “imperial army” spawns and slowly takes over islands which makes the islands harder to get to and over time the army claims more islands and cam be pushed back when you destroy all the ships on the island

I'm not sure exactly how your progression system is working currently (since I'm broke and don't have access to vr) but something you could do is have multiple different factions of pirates or whatever, like maybe one faction has missions where you need to go take out another factions' ship because they keep plundering their gold, and if you do that mission then it increases your rep in that faction allowing you to do better missions for more gold. However that would probably also affect your rep with the faction who owned the boat you just blew up
I think some sort of underwater treasure hunt, some sort of air tank would go well with the hunt.

If you plan rewards as you progress in the game, it would awesome to see the character evolve. From buccaneer to pirate, you earn different attire, hats, tattoos, beard etc. it would be a cool way to “show rank” when multiplayer becomes available.
I love that idea we’ll have to flush it out more in early access.
@@Sail_VR I really like the rewards based on achievement. Plus, the more gold you strive to obtain the more risk of loosing it. Like sailing for the Reapers in SOT
@@Sail_VR can you make the level up system something similar to “Ark Survival Evolves” level up system, but make it so you get less from each level so people don’t get super op, it would be nice if even a level 1 can kill a level 100 because of skill 💯 !!!

I think spread out would be cool with encounters along the way. Clusters might be the more efficient method though that way the players aren't spending most of the time on the water unless that's what you want.
That’s my main throughts is travel time. Sea of thieves gets boring really fast because of how long it takes to travel between island a
@@Sail_VR yeah I think it would be cool to have clusters nearby so it's pretty easy to get to the islands in a individual region but then have a different clusters spread out so if you want to go to a new region it'll take a bit of time to get there giving players a good sailing adventure. Maybe also make most quests region based and have all of the objectives on the surrounding cluster. Could also possibly have them travel to different clusters when they're doing higher level quests. 🤷

A small thing I would like to see Is a upgrade to the sword that looks cooler and dose more damage or something
2 things. When ever u open a gold chest there should be skeletons on the island until u leave them which give double the amount of gold when killed than reg enemies. Second, when I throw the hatchet the flying noise doesn’t go away even when I holster it and when I leave the game. It’s really annoying and just wanted to bring it to your attention
The tomahawk will be patched with next update. We’re also changing the treasure hunts to involve more enemies

ADHD decided I would comment my take on island clusters or spread out islands, so here are my thoughts. I didn't think too deep and I am trying to keep my ideas within the realm of easy to code or add in to the game, so please don't judge these ideas too harshly! -Island clusters seem like a cool concept, but like in execution they wouldn't feel very good. Maybe ankle deep water separating pieces of islands could give a cool aesthetic, but unless a swimming mechanic is added, it won't be very interesting. -Spread out islands would offer players more places to go and see, and if each island is given it's own unique land mark it could be very interesting. However, with the way there are so many of the galleons (large ships) put everywhere, it would be a major pain to actually traverse. I am not sure if the galleons are simply a stopgap to make the seas seem more full, but if the islands are spread out, something will need to be done about them.

I still feel like there are too many enemies in general, ships and enemies on land. I think the starting island should be completely safe.
