    • Wow, I agree with almost everything here, except that “this is IT. 9:44.” This life is too simple to end this way. I know HELL exists, because he got me out of it twice, but God wants us to choose to be with him or not. Most of the world knows of Jesus Christ now, so he’s coming back soon. But will never force you into the relationship. Scott, if you choose to believe, you will see your kids again. And possibly even watch over your grandchildren.

    • Christopher Freeze You beat me to it...except for the Africa thing (I know it’s a metaphor), there’s a lifetime of “experiences” you can have in “the best zip code in the world” and still keep your Family safe. If it’s just you, knock yourself out on the amount of “danger” (real/perceived) to expose yourself too.

  • Great video. Best playbook for life I've seen to date with the exception of Scott's comments about "Partnering." Partnering (or, marriage) is short lived and a total fallacy. All the preparation and thought that goes into careful partner selection works for about 6 months to 1 year. After that, shit gets very, very real (reference Scott's Happiness curve). It's during the low point of the curve when things take a turn for the worse. Stress, work, politics, economic hardship, deteriorating health, kids, in-laws all add tremendous stress to the partnership and will cause it to break. I guarantee that at one time or another, one (or both) partner(s) will want out. Remember, as with all 2-party partnerships, it takes two in order to create it. However, it only takes one to dissolve it. Divorce will seek to undo everything (and, I do mean everything) the partnership worked so hard to create. The end results include (but are in no way limited to): financial ruin, emotional/physical/mental health issues, drug and alcohol addiction, and (in more than one case) death (by suicide -- or worse). For those of you who are contemplating marriage, DON'T!!! The odds against you are staggering. The national divorce rate is 50% (and rising extremely fast). The divorce rate in CA is 100% (counting second or even third marriages). If you are dead-set on marrying, meet with a reputable family lawyer BEFORE saying your I-do's and learn about what you are about to get yourself into. Talk to as many married and formerly married people as possible about their experiences (particularly, lessons-learned) and LISTEN really, really carefully. I realize my words will cause you to think of (and/or respond to) me critically. And, that's OK. But, if you don't think this can happen to you...well, you'll see. As for myself, I was naïve, and I did not receive advice like this when I needed it the most. I wish that I had. So, this of this is one of those "pay it forward" moments. As Scott so eloquently states, "Life is SO rich!" My contribution: "So, don't F@#$ it up!" :)

    • So u die alone?

      @LucasAnnuza@LucasAnnuza5 жыл бұрын
    • Well...I guess that depends on one's death, doesn't it? If the ideal is to painlessly pass at age 100 in a warm bed surrounded by loved ones, then this is something I wish for everyone (myself included). Since one of life's biggest mysteries is that we don't know when or where it's going to end, we must accept this as something beyond our control. However, we can control what we do in life. My original statement merely cautions about the realities of marriage (and the devastating consequences of divorce) AS WELL AS provides advice to those who choose to marry -- something to which Scott alluded but did not fully address. I pray the people who read my words take them in the spirit in which they were written and proceed with caution.
