  • Mr Indifferent is incredibly powerful. He succeeded in stopping a speeding car just by extending the arm and showing his hand in less than a fraction of a second, using some sort of telekinetic powers. I'm convinced he showed just 0.1% of his true potential, so I'm happy he decided to use his powers to help others.

  • This seems so relatable. In the beginning he doesn't help other people, and they don't, or barely notice him, but once he starts helping them they actually become grateful. Really show how our society nowadays works where everyone expects they have to do everything themselves, and shows how small acts of kindness can have a big impact on the world. Your value as a person doesn't go down if you don't do anything, but it does go up if you do help.

  • In my interpretation, Mr. Indifferent represents the everyman. Someone who doesn’t really care about other endeavors beside his own. He’s just an average stranger, not willing to help, instead just keeping to himself. But when he removes his hands from his pocket, he see’s that he can in fact do good. That inspires him to do good.

  • Love this short movie. We can all do some good in this world, no matter how small. I always try to help where I can, and I have a short story to tell. One day on my way to get some groceries, I saw a man with his young son trying to get a ball out of the water, sadly it was just out reach. Being the kind one I offered to help, to I hold on to a lamp post with one arm and hold him with the other, allowing him to bend over deep without falling in the water. We got the ball out together, and they thanked me happy. I left with a smile on my face. As a good man always says "It's good to be helping."

She came to terms with her mortality when she realized her parents weren't coming back from that train ride, and embraced it when she felt an SS officer's skull give way to an entrenching shovel. And you think a car is going to make her flinch?

  • Mr Indifferent is incredibly powerful. He succeeded in stopping a speeding car just by extending the arm and showing his hand in less than a fraction of a second, using some sort of telekinetic powers. I'm convinced he showed just 0.1% of his true potential, so I'm happy he decided to use his powers to help others. No joke, that bit at the end where he pretends to be blind, just so he can hopefully help that guy like that lady helped him, had me burst out laughing when I first saw it. Very well done; both that joke and the short as a whole. -Saimond Jay L. Badal

    • It's really unfortunate how strongly people seem to disagree with the OP. I certainly think there are multiple interpretations here (and none are really more right), but it reveals a lot that people so strongly push for the negative. Most people aren't indifferent out of malice or even selfishness but anxiety of getting it wrong. I've definitely been in similar situations myself where I want to help but I'm not a quick thinker (and really an over thinker) and often wait too long before acting and the moment passes. There's also an increased fear in involving oneself in others lives. As social media and public news outlets puts more of our lives out there we become more fearful in connecting with others in that we could make mistakes and our mistakes can lead to negative outcomes. There are plenty of cases out there of people holding elevator doors for women or the elderly or people disabilities and getting told off for assuming they needed help in the first place. There are similar cases of adults helping children they don't know and being treated like criminals. These aren't the most common cases, but that's the problem with fear mongering and a world where negativity sells. These posts and articles take the top pages and reconstruct out perceptiond of social interaction. There's a plethora of other possibilities. People tend to think someone more suited will come along and help or that they'll be causing trouble for themselves by helping (similar to being selfish but more trying to keep a low profile). There are unfortunately societies that are homogenous by nature and dissuade any action that separates people from the herd. I mean there's a whole study of people being more willing to help when there are less people around. I like the OP's stance and not everything has to be so Grimm as humans being awful.
