It's not that they can't afford it. It's that anyone doing a voiceover would be culpable in a crime and could be easily traced back to the original scammers.
I won't even watch a video with a robotic voice. They get an insta-close.
Just FYI: The scam video has 100 likes and 5000 dislikes. Anybody who thinks removing dislikes from KZhead was a good idea deserves to get scammed!

The irony with KZhead making it so hard to protect this channel, is that it's exactly this kind of channel and you, that make KZhead worth while. Thanks for all you do. The fact that a creator as large as you has to go this far to resolve an actual fraud like this is just yet another failure of KZhead to provide tools and features for “us and you” and continue to just feed the corporate interests. Meanwhile the usual suspects are out there abusing automated copyright tools to take down videos totally out of their legal rights blablabla

@@sweetkity Of all the problem channels on KZhead, those content farms are the worst by far. Each of their channels regularly does things that are supposed to be against KZhead policy, but they never have so much as a slap on the wrist. Smaller creators, however, get videos removed and strikes for daring to warn people of an unknown, and very real, danger! KZhead probably thinks they're protecting their revenue stream by supporting the huge content farms. I wonder how much money they would lose by holding these content farms to the policies versus alienating all of their smaller channels enough that they choose to start posting elsewhere?
It's been removed now. Hope these scammers will suffer for this, at least financially.
It only states 'removed by the uploader', so the channel itself may have survived.

Copyright strike from big company. With regular people's claims it is the same: "working on it".
You and I both know why. Music publishers are incredibly rich, hire the best lawyers money can buy, and they despise KZhead with a burning passion. Much Congressional action has danced around forced regulation of KZhead. Thus, KZhead does absolutely everything in their power to dance to their every whim - there are whole teams at KZhead who do nothing but answer the hotline from the record companies, I'm not even kidding. Small channels? With no lawyers? They'll put that issue on the back burner for awhile, no big deal. Time is money, after all, and that time could be better spent appeasing somebody with big bucks.
@Account NumberEight The music videos that exist either are not represented by major music labels or (just as frequently) they signed a licensing deal with KZhead for some per-view amount, usually not very much. What's more embarrassing than having your content used by a scam? Being a multi-billion dollar tech company that generates nearly all of it's revenue from advertising that is incapable of allocating the resources and developing a process to squash these scams within hours, let alone days... or WEEKS! So much for their "do the right thing" motto eh?
Yeah...I can see why they abandoned their original motto: "don't be evil." Because I can't think of a single multi-billion dollar global multinational corporation that has managed to avoid evil. It's the nature of the game...and aspiring to such lofty heights necessitates a certain amount of willingness to do evil, wherein the people involved tell themselves that "the ends justify the means." It's far easier to say that you're affirming the more positive "do the right thing" because whatever the right thing is, it's extremely subjective. Evil is subjective too, but I think it is a greater PR nightmare to have people claiming that they're going against their word and "being evil," compared to having people accusing them of not doing the right thing.
It's not that YT etc *can't* it's that YT etc doesn't *want* to allocate resources to squash these scams.
@@VoIcanoman a bit of topic, but I recently had a similar conversation with a work colleague. We were talking about rich ppl in general, and I made the comment that nobody made it rich by being nice/good. She got offended coz she said she had a friend back in Ireland who became a multi millionaire from being basically a garbage man. Skip bins, collections, mass transportation, ect. Got to a good income, very comfortable, then sold it to a Euro company for a few 10s of millions. She said he was a good person, and he probably is. I tried to gentle explain that( without him being a evil person) he only made his first income by charging ppl way more then the actual cost of his service, since unless you break even, you are charging customers more then what the service and overheads costs( not that that is inherently wrong, ppl gotta make money after all), and that him selling the company for millions was even worse for his customers. After all, that new company would want to make it’s money back, plus profit. So cost would go up and service down and probably a lot of downsizing. But he didn’t ‘care’ about that, only the money. So basically, he put his bank account over that of other ppl( not to mention that of the other company, since if someone offered you more then your company was worth, would you really tell then that it was to much?). End of day, that doesn’t make one a evil or bad person. We all wanna be rich. But you can’t say that such a person is good. A ‘good’ person would not make a profit, may even end up with a loss. But that is a vast difference then knowingly( or choosing plausible deniable) making a profit on something that actively hurts others. That is evil.
They can censor the political right though, quite efficiently.

This is a swamp cooler, uses evaporative cooling. This basic design has been advertised over the past 3 years, claimed to be invented by a high school kid, a doctor in Switzerland, and by 2 men in India. Several people have done test on it. At best it is a spot cooler for you, a fan blowing cooled air. One test was in a small camper in 90 degree temp outside, it lowered the inside temp to 85degrees after 2hours..

You're right that they should be held liable, but there's no legislation for this. Almost all of our lawmakers are 70 years old and probably can't even find the spacebar on a keyboard. THAT is the real problem. How are they going to understand a tech lobbyist?
I get spammed with these types of goofy chinese ads constantly, it's not just for air coolers. I get drones, cell phone gadgets, all kinds of stuff all featuring that goofy robot voice. They're non stop, all scams with ridiculous claims.
@@JustOneAsbesto Louis Rossman (on YT under that name) who is a big proponent of "right to repair" has that problem in dealing with legislators. Most of them have not clue what social media is and fall for some of the most absurd arguments presented by the big companies who don't want to let independent shops repair their products.
There was a video from them a year or so ago mentioning that the uploads to KZhead is something like 300 hours per second (!) So it may be an algorithm adjusted to spoof a website either with captured content. I suppose it just comes down to 'does it make sense?' But I do feel sorry for the newbies, even though the spoof seemed to be more about reputation stalking.
Agreed. KZhead has no problem identifying conservatives. Why can't they do the same for fraudsters? Stop being evil Google.
Thanks for sharing Howard!
Level headed respectful and without speaking ill of a clear violation by other people . You sir have the patience and wisdom of a monk many years older.
I really appreciate your videos and will be happy to review the video in question! I detest scammers!
I'm really glad to see you clear the air on this subject and make sure we're all on the same page. I did my part and watched part of the video and did report it for fraud, since they're claiming you're Howard and using your content. Not cool. Also I appreciate all the time and effort you guys put into making all the videos, thank you!
I just reported the false video with the following statement (press 3 dots under video, select "Spam or Misleading", select "Scams or Fraud"): This video contains stolen content from "Tech Ingredients", a KZhead channel with 722K subscribers. This video contains intentional misinformation with the sole intent to garner more views. The blatant falsehoods presented, while utilizing Tech Ingredient's intellectual property without permission, represents not only a violation of copyright, but even more egregious is the harm to Tech Ingredient's reputation that is likely to occur if the video is not urgently removed.
You are one of my few KZhead Guru’s! I don’t know why I only saw this now, but it is DISGUSTING!! Thankfully when going to report, the link now says channel unavailable. I prey that their view count did not earn them $ from KZhead!! Thank you for all you have taught me and Keep up the amazing work!! :)
Bravo on excellent crisis PR: you met issue, articulated details honestly, offered a complete but succinct explanation, and gave your audience (customers) options for action. BOOM. You just got me as a sub, so there's that too. Looking forward to more honest content from you.
I reported for you guys. I just posted a couple videos as well with similar issues with bots and scams affecting my channel. I really hope something is done about this on youtube. My suggestion would be to allow verified creators to have a higher amount of weight when they report something like this. They already have our personal info so youtube would definitely be able to do KYC and then elevate our abilities to help fight spam if we wanted to and any creator abusing the system would just have that feature blocked from being used. If a creator sent a flag on a video a yt employee could double check to see if there's an issue here and if so, take appropriate action. Maybe even incentivize creators by giving them an extra 5-10% on their ad revenue if they did this. It would pay creators extra since its a job to fight bots and spam. Instead they spend their time deleting the dislike :(
I just clicked on the link and it says it been taking down by copyright claims by him....🤷♂️
Lol this channels is also weird - "The Dro". ~500k subs and 500 views per video? You bought those subs man? Edit: Lol 200mln views on one video. Damn, i guess it sucks to have a one-shot video that doesn't bring attention to the channel itself :/
My guess is..that KZhead has their hands full concerning issues like this. I am positive that KZhead employees tasked with this venue are not idly standing by waiting for violations.
Getting KZhead's twitter account attention is another way of making things happen. Also don't be afraid to ask for help from other YTers, it is in their best interest as well to help put a stop to this and heck gives an opportunity for them to make more content, win/win.
yeah, like Jeremy @thequartering
Linus could definitely help getting it taken down.
@@laboulesdebleu8335 I would not contact him if I was them... They represent them self as a serious and professional channel, this reputation would go down the shitter if thequartering was involved...
Agreed!
Twitter is always a good go-to when it comes to big corporations. I'd add that the most effective method is to shame them in public on your timeline, which means you want to put a . or something else in front of the @ tag for them. That way it'll show on your timeline instead of being hidden in "and replies."
I just tried to go to the link you provided and got the message 'Video no longer available'. Hopefully, there's one less injustice in the world now. Congrats!
I hate scammers and the fact that they prey on people’s ignorance. I’m glad you got the video removed. Of course the scammers still ran away with bags of cash and have no sweat off their back & are probably busy cooking up their next scheme. But I love the work you guys do and the graduate-level education you provide the world for free. I guess in some ways it’s a testament to your success, that parasites are trying to leech off your credibility!
I hope Tech Ingredients finds the talented help they need. I can't wait to see what amazing content they will produce.
You guys are amazing. Thanks for being you!

@Christie Malry Audiobooks hahah, you are legit my new favorite KZheadr! Thanks for all you do, too Comrade!
Good 👍 luck 🍀 filling your employee needs. Thank you 😊
I love this channel contents and I really impressed by this fraud. I hope you go stronger than before!
This is why we can't have nice things. Good luck to you guys, I look forward to seeing y'all put all this behind you.
Nice "looking" things. Better honest cobble than an empty box.
So sorry you've been scammed! Love your channel so much! 👍 You and your staff have my highest respect! It's sad that greedy idiots/criminals like to target honest people and companies. I hope these thieves get what they deserve. Keep up your great work👍 Love you & your channel. Always learning something. 😘💞💞💞💞💞
I just seen one of those ads and literally was hoping you would see the ad and make a response. Here I am seeing this and I’m very elated.
You guys are awesome.sir. Salute you. And ur helpful soul
Complaint filed with YT. I love your work, your experience, your research and journeyman knowledge on such diverse products. Thank you and may your channel continue to grow beyond your wildest expectations.
Heh. I had gotten that ad multiple times, I'd just never let it run long enough to see you, it was such an obvious scam. Having watched it now... it is pretty funny just how bad it is. And it's just a shitty little swamp cooler. Alec at Technology Connections did a great video on these "personal air conditioners" almost a year ago.
down already. damn sorry to hear you got scammed like this =/ your content is great, it's a shame it gets used for scams like this.
Ha! Just went (via your offered link) to that scamming site, and it's been SHUT DOWN!! Good to see things are occasionally working as they should for consumer and content creator protection! Looks like your campaign to shut THEM down has gone well! Congratulations.
I hope this time, KZhead acts on the scam reports. I've notified them so many times about scammers (the blatantly obvious ones, with a phone number in their name), but it seems pointless. A day later, and all those dubious comments I flagged were still there. How difficult can it be to filter out users with 10 or more numerical symbols in their name?
It's not difficult at all. They just don't care.
@@Xiph1980 It is all about the money.
I'm beginning to think it's KZhead in the first place that is scamming
Reported. So sad to see this happen to you! I wish I knew Premier, Effects, and/or Blender. I'd love to work with or around your crew and the shop, but there are definitely folks out there who are better suited to fill this position. 20 years ago I moved across the country just for an interview and I still work for that company. I wonder if any of my LightRoom skills might be of any benefit. Nah, just kiddin'! I'm sure you will find yourself swimming in so many potential well-qualified applicants that you'll go Crazy. (Patsy Cline)
Can’t hurt to send them your CV. You never know…..
Thx for the heads up!
Love your channel and hate that this fraud is happening to you. Your channel is top-notch and always produces amazing and informative content. I will go and report that channel as a scam in the hopes that it will help.
I love your channel thank you for all you do sharing your amazing creativity

I love the open source movement and generally support it, but I believe this situation shows why it is imperative that people have a legal method of enforcement to protect a business identity. Especially trademark. I never understood attacking software or other companies which freely distribute their ideas, but simply want to preserve control of their name. Hopefully this nonsense is taken down quickly. Good luck -Howard- Mr. Main Presenter. I've been a fan for a few years now and really enjoy your channel.
Trademarks are very important. Most large libre (the proper term for what most people think of as open source and permissive licensing) projects are trademarked. Even Linux, Free Software Foundation and the GNU Project are trademarked.
@@krozareq I remember people wigging out when Firefox sued someone over their trademark. It literally is the reason some of the other browsers exist. That's the type of situation I am talking about. People who oppose the current intellectual property regime so hard they think even trademarks and such should be scrapped.
I clicked on the link but got the following message: Video unavailable - This video has been removed by the uploader. I'm glad to see the scammer got the message.
Funnily enough, I saw one of those scammy Chillwell ads here on KZhead over the last two months (likely due to the area I was in during that time, localized ads and all that stuff). I had already seen your swamp cooler video a couple years ago and knew that it wasn't you. And I had also seen other videos explaining how those particular air cooling units actually work and how they're not useful in certain situations. Ironically enough, my job had provided us with "AC" units of similar make and model to use on our desks. I was more than laughing at how ridiculous the whole thing was. And our location was super humid over the past two months, so those units were next to useless.
Stay safe out there, Howard.

I'm glad to see the link shows the video as no longer available because the uploader took it down
Man... I wish I was closer to you. I'd love to work for a channel like this (shooter/editor). Good luck in your search!
