  • Love how they got that the NPCs move faster than the players walk but slower than their run so you're always bumping into your teammates or waiting for them to get out of the way 😂

  • Yeah so if you watch VLDL and all the BTS stuff, they use a local LARPing society for location, props, extras, etc. So they were able to start off with good production value even with a low budget before they were popular. Which is awesome, since these guys are great. Even the Bored series didn't cost much in actual money (relatively speaking). This FPS series was the first time they really had to buy almost everything (costumes, props, etc) so it was a bit of a risk for them. It paid off greatly imho. I absolutely LOVE the Survival Logic mini-series

      @BloodSkullzRock@BloodSkullzRock11 ай бұрын
    • @@BloodSkullzRock I actually just had to google it up right now because I was also a bit confused. The sights are offset to the left side and apparently it doesn't hinder accuracy too much. I guess when you have a weapon designed not for accuracy but for area coverage and suppression, precise hits aren't too important. The offset sights only really cause like 2 inches of offset from the target anyways.

  • I think there are so many small hidden easter eggs in these videos too. For example in the scene where the German squad yells and charges across the field this was not typical WW2 tactics, that is more reminiscent of WW1. Spoilers, there was a whole war called WW1 that involved commanders not understanding the new invention called the machine gun, which involved countless charges across no man's land eliminating men in their hundreds, thousands, and sometimes tens of thousands in one day. So by WW2, infantry squads (and the portable radio) had lead to more of a fire, pin, coordinate, and maneuver style of warfare then just yell and rush across an open field against an emplaced enemy. Obviously there are always exceptions, and the Pacific island hopping campaign was a whole other can of worms.

    @joshdavis3743@joshdavis3743 Жыл бұрын
    • Once the lines stabilized early in World War I and the trenches were built, there really wasn't any way to do maneuver warfare. Traditional cavalry would get slaughtered just like the infantry, armored cars weren't reliable or well protected enough to cross No Man's Land, and tanks were basically invented during the war. Really, the only thing that could have broken the stalemate was what happened: one side finally went under financially, materially and in their morale. (Technically ALL sides had that happen to a greater or lesser degree, except for the U.S.A. as a latecomer, but it wasn't immediately apparent). Once tanks and airpower returned the maneuver element to combat in World War II, the enemy didn't have time to establish fixed defenses, or they were vulnerable to airborne forces, massive bombardment or amphibious landings behind the lines. A particularly chilling quote about combat on the Western Front in the First World War goes: "Generals spent four years proving you could stop machine gun bullets with the chests of young men."

  • Typical of AI in most combat games. My "buddies" in Ghost Recon: Wildlands/Breakpoint are either spot-on or totally incompetent. I had a mod for Fallout 4 which allowed a bunch of AI companions simultaneously...made the mistake of giving them all grenades. I'm point and we're exiting a tight-squeeze pipe...I pull the pin and lob my grenade into the enemy area. From maybe 40' - 50' back in the pipe behind me, I hear a bunch of grenade pins dropping... Can't count how many times I am like this video... taking out the enemy one, two, three, four... I get hit and what does the AI do? Kill all the enemy and then revive me? Oh hellz naw...they stop shooting and revive me (so I go from prone to standing up) and * POW * shot again...rinse and repeat. I never take them with me on infiltrations, they get us bagged every time.
