You should've downloaded an extra pistol slot mod because in real life you can definitely carry a pistol and a melee weapon with a primary.
so would you just have a pistol in one hand and a axe (or other melee weapon)in the other? i mean, i don't think that would be practical, especially since you can just shove the zombies with your pistol

In all honesty, yeah, I'm fine with the characters, weapons, maps, etc. of the vanilla game, but the mod enhancements give them much more potential and fun!
I have the majority of those addons already installed and sometimes I play with them when I want a more "modern" experience.

This game will love on forever. It’s sad back 4 blood didn’t live up to this. But it’s still a fun game.
You can play l4d2 again and again and it will still be fun to play, and you can use mods and look like a completely different game, b4b is the same everytime you play and you don't have the possibility to use mods

To me what constitutes a “remaster” is a visual and technical overhaul of the game that freshens the gameplay experience but remains faithful to the original, and you have a lot of nice mods compiled to accomplish that. I’m a sucker for the vanilla game’s style and some mods are less pleasing than others by that perspective (mainly some of the new particles like the explosions and spitter acid) but I’m sure plenty others can argue that they’re an improvement. I’m working on my own “remaster” compile and this will help with that, thanks :)

Why are most of the mods conflicting with each other?
The only thing missing here is the HD Skyline for No Mercy by Ellie
I only have 3 issues: New Flashlight looks to be weaker than the original, not sure. New HD Infected look a little bit too clean, not rough enough. New Particles made Boomer way weaker since you see better through the effect.

The reason the sequel doesn't is because Valve lost the code for the Survivor legs during the development of the game.

be careful with HD textures or mods that are really high poly, some custom campaigns can crash very easily because of the limit the game has, sadly.

@@Raven-Purple Yeah, this is a problem with the game's limit, has nothing to do with your PC.
That's why I tend to avoid 4k upscaled mods. The game's textures don't need to be that high.

I run a fairly similar HD remaster mod composition, the only thing I added to it was a Ragdoll overhaul for Common Infected to make them less stiff and fake looking. It's more akin to a weighted HL:2 Combine ragdoll now.
I would really like to see what you came up with if you are calling the original death animations for common infected "stiff and fake looking".

This mod makes whole effect and charater and animation are so cool and realistic but some map that has a unrealistic spot like grass or rock or mountain stuff but its still good with this mod tho.

The only thing I dislike is that the Boomer-Pile don't blind you that much anymore. (and a bit that you don't see the endge of the Spitter acid as good) The Blindness was part of the strength of the Boomer. Of course, by far not the important part, but still important to his balancing.

this collection is a good one, though i would definetely recommend using fancy skies instead of informal skyboxes. this mostly comes from personal taste, but i think most of the skyboxes in informal skyboxes are way out of place in some campaigns, while fancy skies tryes tô keep It natural, even being conpatible with the vanilla color corrections.
Disagree, tried fancy skies and it sucks. I love the huge moon for Dark Carnival and the partly cloudy sky for Death Toll and the Last Stand. Also the Blood Harvest dawn sky looks beautiful and the one for Swamp fever actually really gives you a swampish vibe which is great. the only two I switched out for higher quality skyboxes were Dead Centre and Cold Stream, for those two I found a sharper blue sky, sky box

I gotta be honest, i find most of the mods are more of a downgrade to the vanilla rather than some remaster. The mods dont do much to enhance the experience and sometimes actually moves away from the original material. Good things: The high resolution textures, the new flashlight and the new hud are the better mods that improve upon the vanilla game. They actually make the game look more detailed and try to improve on the vanilla game. Most of the reanimated weapons also improve upon the original by adding more detail. The bad: The new skyboxes, new particles and headshot effect dont actually improve on the original game, its more detailed but rather changes the material to fit a certain taste. The dynamic light mod isn't carefully enough designed to look great with the game and ends up cluttering the screen with lights. The better water mod also doesnt improve the game and visually clutters the screen with sharper reflections. This could be done better if the game was ported to Source 2 and then implement parallax to the current skyboxes.

Just go to the workshop and click “subscribe” on the mods you want. It’s extremely simple.
