  • 6:43 for those who don’t know, Rise of lyric was dreadful when it came out, and had a bug/exploit where knuckles could technically jump forever and skip entire sections of the game. He could even jump so high that the world would stop rendering properly.

  • This is hilariously accurate to the original games (Except for a few scenes like the balloon one which I wish I could unsee.) Also, it’s funny to see how the Official Sonic The Hedgehog account commented on this video and then deleted it after they realized this wasn’t family friendly was pretty funny.

    • I refuse to believe that was a real race. I have played an obscene amount of Sonic R across several different releases, and the CPUs are incapable of acting this dumb (they are, to the best of my understanding, very rigidly attached to a route, similar to something like Mario Kart 64). I could believe it if it was all human players. And you were 5-ish years old. Sonic R is, in my humble opinion, the smoothest controlling Sonic racing game ever made to this very day. ...Not to sound too defensive or anything. I see Sonic R get trashed a lot for reasons beyond my comprehension and feel urged to come to its aid.

    • I animated that shot! I built a playable game in the Unity engine with physics (acceleration, collisions, etc.), and with Cas's 2D characters as sprites that always face the camera and change animation sets depending on their speed and position relative to the camera. I recorded input sequences for the other characters, which then get replayed at runtime. What you're seeing in the video is actual gameplay of me controlling Sonic.
