I upgraded my grandfather of a laptop that is the Acer Nitro 5 to a heavier, faster, more expensive Legion 5i which has a 2k screen. And because of that I sold my monitor and just started traveling around because why not, I can bring my work with me anyways.
Oh and sorry about the dust and hairs everywhere, we recently adopted 2 stray cats so blame the mess on them.

One of my favorite things about this is how clean and portable it is. I often find myself going through phases of minimizing and minimizing until I can get as small a footprint I can without compromise and this is honestly quite satisfying, I like the idea of having an empty clear desk or space and then when I need to be productive I can be without as little effort as possible, I am just a slow moving person but when the productivity bug hits I like to take advantage of it and not be slowed down. I really enjoyed this :D

I was randomly recommended this video but it's pretty relevant for me. I'm a traveller myself and you and I have a very similar setup. I use my 2022 Legion 5i with the 3060 140w/16GB DDR5/i7 12700H and I have an S22+ as well. Whenever I go abroad I just take my beastly laptop along with the stand, mouse, studio headphones and soundcard. My trusty phone is also always with me. I travel lite with a single backpack, and it's a pretty comfy feeling being able to take all you need in a backpack with you. ✌️
Yes! I love just packing everything in one bag and going wherever. It's so convenient I can live anywhere with just a backpack lol

love this video man, keep it up!! If you're looking for an upgrade for your camera I suggest the Sony 6000 series like the A6400 or A6600 and an old A6500 if you're on a budget. You can look at the new Sony ZV-E1 that got revealed this week. These are small compact mirrorless cameras that offer a lot for how small it is, I use an A6400 myself and it is a workhorse for my work. I hope this can't wait for a future update setup!

I'd highly highly highly recommend you stop that keyboard position right now. No matter how much you kid yourself thinking that that is a natural and comfortable position for your wrists. If you really need the "I'm free to move wherever I want" hype, find some space on your backpack or utility belt for a portable keyboard.

Awesome! I'm still using a 2020 Legion 5 gen 5 AMD (Ryzen 7 4800H). I use mine as a Linux workstation, and when I turn off the dedicated GPU, I get around 8 hours of battery life. It's plenty fast for what I do, and is still a pleasure to use. It's quite strong (I've lost count of the number of times I've dropped it), the screen is great, and I can type a hundred miles an hour on Legion keyboard. I'm hoping I get another 3 or so good years out of this machine.

This is the point I have reach today. I was all about maximizing screen real estate only to realize that I wasn't using it effectively and in fact never helped my productivity. I have the same laptop and stand and if you do productive work using onboard keyboard then it is not comfortable at all. External keyboard is a must if you work for long hours.

Great content as always! Loving the design of the 5i and the port placement as well, but can't deal with the weight. Saving up for a G14, initially considered the 5i aswell, but the weight difference is significant. Coming from a Dell Inspiron 7567... one of the top considerations for my next purchase is weight. Lugging around the tank that is the Inspiron is something that I don't want to deal with in the future. Laptop was around 3 kilos and plus the power brick was literally as heavy as bricks.. with the G14, the weight is basically half and I can use a 100watt adaptor that I use with my phone.
I originally wanted a g14 but it was out of stock everywhere 😭. Get one as soon as you can bro!

i have the same mouse and i fixed the charging stand by using a knife and just rubbing the contacts on the stand and on the mouse, works and charges fine now :)
I tried cleaning it but it didn't work haha that's okay since I don't want to carry the dock with me when I go out somewhere

I've got to Lenovo Legion 5 2020 with AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 16 in RAM, 512 in SSD + 1 Tb in HDD... It is great laptop! ❤
Don’t know if someone has said this but the reason why the Viper Ultimate dock isn’t charging anymore is because you have some dust and dirt under the mouse. Do some gentle cleaning on under the mouse and the dock with Q-tips and they should work as before.
I tried a lot of KZhead tutorials to clean it. It just gave up on me haha 😭

Two other things that can help: Gaming keypad, a half keyboard that has all the keys you need in game (A4 tech has a 15€ one that I've been using for a decade.) Suction cooling fan, for laptops that heat up a lot. Opolar has one of the best around, and you can get 15 to 20C cooler.

Nice video! Does the spray for cleaning leave some residue? Happened to me when I used tap water or mild detergents and it wasn't nice. Meanwhile for my laptop I use a bit of distilled water on a microfiber cloth and it's perfect.
