Hey Trevor first off great video. I want to know if you taught people how to do this specific style of editing? I truly want to know how to be able to do a video like how Nate’s videos are, but on my own.
Also just going off your secret in the beginning, but it also seems like it’s really all about the ability to create these things around the script?
I have lots of Edit Like videos on my channel, and I teach how to use CapCut in my course, but I don't go into more detail on how to edit like Nate outside of the videos on my channel. The trick is to look at what someone does 1 frame at a time and see exactly what's happening. Often, it's just some motion or another image entering or leaving the screen. If you break it down 1 frame at a time, you can figure out a lot of it. Capcut can do a lot, but it's for sure not after effects. If you're goal is to create graphics intensive videos, I would FOR SURE learn After Effects. It's an entirely different and very advanced world.
For sure. Script first, then figure out what you need to make it all happen and start finding or creating the individual elements.

No, but all you need to do is export what you want to use, and bring it into a new project when you’re using your smart phone, and it’s almost exactly the same thing

Great video! One question about CC that’s been killing me. When I create and export a short for YT & then upload it in YT Studio, YT jumps a few seconds to create my “thumbnail.” As a result the packaging for the short looks horrible. Any idea how to fix this (until YT allows actual short thumbnails)? Is it in the course? Help! ❤
Yes! ONLY upload shorts from your PHONE. At the time of upload, you can CHOOSE a frame from your video. If you want a CUSTOM thumbnail, make one, and make it the FIRST frame of your video. When you upload from your phone, the thumbnail YT chooses will appear in the top left. Hit the pencil icon and then YOU can choose which frame you want. If you made a custom thumb and made it the first frame, just choose that frame.
