As a member of the Utah band, this game was a whirlwind of emotions and an incredible game to be at. It sucks we couldn't quite fend them off but gotta give credit to Ohio State and especially Stroud and JSN. Those two are incredible players
Utah were idiots to give Ohio st the ball back
@@kurtwagner350on the last drive what do you want them to do though. Do an onside kick? And unless ur talking about punts or the missed 4th downs A. Utah had to be aggressive with how JSN Stroud and Harrison was playing B. Punts happen B. It was great
That had to be an incredible atmosphere that matched an incredible game! Good on you
JSN put on one of the best performances we’ve ever seen. Still think if he didn’t miss last season he would be an easy top 5-10 pick and WR1
Might still be top 10
🐻⬇️
If he would've played OSU wen championship cuz u wouldn't be to stop him and Marvin Harrison with ebuka to lol
We're gonna love him up here in the 206 which is Seattle Wa wit the Seahawks
And beat UGA easily! They would have went up 22 if that targeting got upheld still one of the worst non calls called I've ever seen
This was by far one of the greatest football games I’ve ever seen. So much raw emotion and going back and forth. Stroud and JSN played unbelievably great and I don’t think we’ll ever see numbers like that be out up in a bowl game again. Go Bucks! ❤️
Stroud got aggressive and that’s what we need at Ohio State. An aggressive offensive. We’re to conservative on both sides of the ball.
@@JMAN97712 Ryan Day has continued Ohio States great recruiting but he’ll never win a championship. I’m not talking smack or being ignorant he’s just not gonna get it done but they do develop great nfl players since he’s taken over
@@sickem223344 I kind of find that hard to believe. They should’ve been in the title game against TCU and they would’ve won. They been very close the last few years.
@@sickem223344 I disagree. The Ryan Day we saw in the UGA game can undoubtedly win a chip. We had the best receiver in the country opt out, trouble with injuries at RB, and our best receiver playing out in the third quarter (I think it was the third) and still lost to the national champions by 2. If he keeps calling plays to not lose, we won’t win anything. But if he can continue to be aggressive, then we may win a couple yet. I mean, we lost that Georgia game cause he went back to a conservative play call style in stead of trusting Stroud to get a few more yards to make it a more comfortable kick.
What a way to start the rose bowl's centenary celebrations
CJ Stroud establish the following Rose Bowl records: Total Offense - 583 yards Total Touchdowns & Passing TD’s - 6 Passing Yards - 573 yards Jaxon Smith-Njigba also broke the receiving yards record with 347 yards. *all these records were established in this game alone*
Yeah but it’s against Utah, that’s like an MMA fighter beating up a 7 year old
@@kurtwagner350 no such thing as defense in College Football lol either you score or you don’t
@@sonofmiriam that’s true, even still competition matters when considering insane stats like these
@@kurtwagner350 Utah was the PAC-12 Champion
@@lamontrankinjr.280 doesn’t matter if you’re the king of a trash heap, you’re still trash
This game was so epic to watch
befitting the rose bowl centenary celebrations
These rose bowls have been insane.. usc-texas championship, usc-psu, georgia-oklahoma then this that field just brings the magic of college football to life!
And now Alabama michigan
FSU-Auburn
Ohio State got robbed of seeing this combo again in 2022 season
Along with Marv and a healthy Henderson. Could of rivaled LSU's offense in 2019.
@@SocialAssasin or maybe Bama’s 2020 offense too.
Jaxon owes the Buckeyes one more season !
Now that how you play the 100th Rose Bowl 🌹
He’s the best receiver draft prospect!
Doesn't even matter he did this against a Backup RB playing corner, it was still nuts.
It really does matter...
My boys had so much working against them and fought and won this game. The talent they had on this team is insane even without olave and wilson
Welcome to the Seahawks, JSN 💚💙
CJ and JSN were locked in this like I never seen before.
Opinion from an OSU fan rewatching this game. Ryan Day got out coached this night. He was only saved by a Utah QB injury and better caliber players on Ohio State.
Was JSN tha 1st to do tha GRIDDY in game?✌️
Amazing game to watch
This was Marvin Harrison Jr. preview to come. A freshman....3 touchdown catches...Uh-oh....😁
I was at this game and as a utah fan, it was so fun to watch
This right here just said it all bout what Harrison, Stroud, and JSN was all about
man. as a buckeye fan, it's easy to remember this game for JSN and Stroud, but that ball was flying on both sides. What a ridiculously fun game!
stroud is such a tank man.....ncaa.....nfl.....hes a unit
JSN was against 4th string CBs and a RB that had to play CB that game chill
As an OSU fan, how the hell did we win this game??!??
One year later and I still have no clue lol
Utah had backup RBs playing corner lol

Ohio State vs Nebraska 2011. Rex Burkhead vs Ohio State
Watch out for Britain Covey, (huge Eagles fan here), dude will take any kick and RARELY calls for fair catch and still has about 10 yards in front of him
Happy for Jsn but tough to watch for Ute fan
Defense was so soft, crazy to see how far we’ve come under Knowles
Play this Saturday what’s your prediction?
NFL blocked the full game just to put up a highlight reel. Give us the full game! Gotta see the coverages pre snap reads and everything. Lots more draft prospects in this game.
The Rose Bowl is called "The Granddaddy of them all" for a reason.
Damn Utah had zero film on college football’s future best wide receiver in Marvin Harrison Jr. They played a hard game against a POWERHOUSE. Thought it was gonna be like their sugar bowl against Alabama in 2008
Even Though I Was Rooting For Utah In This Game Cause I Hate Ohio State Being a Navy Fan and Michigan Fan I Felt So Bad For Utah Fans!
Just wanted too see some decent colors for once lol
Why didn't JSN play in the Georgia Game ? The Buckeyes could have used him !
He was injured for a majority of the season and decided to forgo the playoffs:(
Let’s get him Carolina
How Clark Phillips wasn't picked in the first round is beyond me. His combine numbers and height should not have been the deciding factors for his draft status.
Ohio state is the most talented defense that plays the worst defense in the country. I just don’t get it
Glory days glory days...sing it with me, Stroud who could never beat a real team...Michigan!
nobody's taking that record
Why did he kick the field goal and just not score
Ohio states best qb by a large margin
i'll never understand why Ryan Day took a timeout with 12s left in the game. nobody will remember because OSU still won, but if Utah returned the ensuing kick for a touchdown, he would never hear the end of it. very boneheaded timeout
So if something bad happens, ohio state could attempt to kick it again. Like a mishandled snap or blocked field goal. Ohio State could quickly call timeout and kick again
@@pabla42pllyt34 if they miss or mishandle it’s a turnover
@@pabla42pllyt34 hm ok, didn't think of that. but still, 12s is a lot. that still gave enough time for a kickoff runback and a hail mary play with the successful kick
If you watch some of the replays day thinks there is an injured player which would stop the clock.. He is surprised when they dont stop and he calls Time out right away. Based on covies return ability I still think you should have taken it down all the way, and kick the field goal with no time left. The chance of a bad snap or something on offense was way less than Covey returning something.
@@sambrown7645 exactly. and if the snap is dropped or something, then worst case the game just goes into OT. if covie returns the ball for a TD, Utah wins even if the FG is good
CJ Stroud, the savior of the Texans. 🤘
This was Marvin Harrison breakout game 🤷🏾♂️
And they’ll most likely never be on the same team again
WELCOME TO CAROLINA!!!
Fowler really hates the bucks.
Future panthers
SEAHAWKS
War eagle Auburn university has a brighter future than Ohio st mark it down ! Even though Ohio st has has wayyy easier schedule where they are superior in talent to all of their schedule and still underachievers under ryan Day
😂😂😂😂 nice dream buddy
The worst tackling rose bowl game
Not a throwback!!
Technically it is
@SR.Alyumic something that was only a little over a year ago is a little farfetched that's how I always saw it.
@@joshuakline1435 still by definition it is a throwback
sad utah lost 2 rose bowls in a row lol
WHAT THE FUCK HE NEVER WENT DOWN ON THE LAST PLAY. THIS GAME IS NOT OVER
Why is ohio unstoppable in regular season and get dogged in playoffs
To answer your question, it’s a schedule thing and a talent thing. Ohio State produces top notch talent every year. Also most of our scheduled opponents are Big 10 teams or teams that are really bad. But the past two years when we played Michigan and other playoff teams, they expose a part of our weaknesses other teams find. For example against Michigan and Georgia this year both found our defensive weakness and used them to their advantage. Even though our offense can score as many as they can,if that defense doesn’t get a stop, we don’t win those games.
Ohio State gives up too many points since Myer left. This is UTAH we are talking here. If you want to pretend that UTAH didn't out play Ohio state, then that's your problem. I am sure the recruiting budgets are the same for both schools. NOT!!!
MICHIGAN OWNS THE TINY BUCKS
Urban owns y'all
Stetson and Arian Smith better
If ohio state played in the sec they woulf be average at best lmao
Nah they would be top 5 in the SEC, did you see how well they played against Georgia? It shows how much talent Ohio State has regardless of the conference, I don't think any other team besides Ohio State outside of the SEC could have played that good and close against Georgia this past playoffs.
Who cares they aren’t
@@exotic_t get a life bozo
@@siremimontey7582 Needed the refs and Georgias worst game to even have a shot😹
How can anyone not hear the bias when Herbstreit calls an Ohio State game? Dude falls over himself complimenting darn near every OSU play. Utah makes multiple great plays….crickets from Herbstreit. You’ll just hear Chris give the play-by-play. Watch again and listen.
We were absolutely robbed as OSU fans not getting to see Stroud, Smith-Nigba, and Harrison together this past season. Pretty sure that Georgia game would of went a different way.
Only if Nolan Smith, McConkey, Darnell Washington, and starting OLB we’re also healthy.
coulda shoulda woulda. all that matters is that it didn't.
