Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus Cinnamomum
Absolutely amazing👍🏻
Cinnamon is the processed bark of a species Asiatic tree. Did you end up will a slightly sweet smelling workshop? Lovely looking finished article!
TIL that cinnamon is from a type of bark! Thanks!
Yeah the smell is amazing even 5 day later
The first person to try cinnamon must have been starving
That was gonna be my question lol I’m sure it smelled great
@@brianaschmidt910 humanities finest culinary (and medicinal) ingredients were all found by starving, daring, or just plain stupid people 😂
"Hey, where do you keep your cinnamon?" "In the cinnamon jar." "Right, that's what I'm asking, where's the cinna--" "In the *cinnamon jar."*
😂
That’s Not actually true cinnamon in the video.
@@bill-or-somthingbill4390 How can you tell?
@@bill-or-somthingbill4390 as someone who uses whole cinnamon…it is
@@vinnie3731 True cinnamon looks like a papery bundle and while you can tell this is not true cinnamon because the bark used here is thick and woody. Ceylon vs Cassia. One is true cinnamon the other is the bark of a different tree that grows in southern China.
You should make a small jar for a bunch of different spices, made from that spice. Like a cloves jar, a pepper jar, a salt jar (using large salt crystals?), a bay leaves jar, etc... Would make for a nice gift set for a cook!
Gostei da idéia
That’s an amazing idea💜💜💯
Omg this is the most amazing idea I've ever heard of
Epoxy isn't food safe....
@@pyyromaniac After it has completely cured (after like a month), it's an inert plastic, and as food safe as any tupperware...
I was not expecting it to be see through, but it makes sense. And the patterns the cinnamon created is incredible. Looks amazing!
I'm willing to bet it smells amazing as well
It's not easy to find but you can actually buy small logs of whole cinnamon tree wood direct from south asia if you look hard enough. They usually cut them down when they're pretty small to harvest the spice but they're supposed to reach up to 50ft in the wild.
I could parcel you some from India.
@@amjamj7986 how much?
I’m laughing at the thought of a giant cinnamon stick. What does one do with that?
@@ally-gh3hv Turn it, apparently.
that's so fucking cool I wish I could see the fully grown tree
the little "heh" when the cinnamon mangled the bit was something else
laying here with COVID symptoms, this the most relaxed i've been all day... thank you!
You have a fantastic imagination and have created a fantastic jar. I didn’t think it was gonna be worth looking at but oh my gosh it’s fantastic.
Thanks you very much 😍
Gorgeous!!! Can you imagine doing that with both cinnamon AND coffee beans!! It would smell pretty amazing too!
The coffee would ruin it
I have to say that I will agree with the idea of coffee not going well… …the bitter smells of pure coffee, plus the sweet sent of cinnamon? The coffee would easily drown out the cinnamon.
@@Pumpkin-man I often sprinkle some cinnamon onto my coffee in the morning. Can't complain, it smells great to me, try it! :)
"it was smell" england is no your mother tongue?
@@dxcvvxd What a very important comment right there. This is the deep thoughtfulness the world needs right now.
That looks so wicked. Being allergic to cinnamon, it gives the little container an ominous vibe for me. Lol
O.0 you have my deepest sympathies. I am allergic to mushrooms to a pretty hilarious degree and people say I am missing out on some of the best foods in the world because of it. I can only imagine what you are frequently told about cinnamon 😭 maybe one day Medical Science will end this torment ...
@Joshua Coleman CRISPR is a rabbit hole of ethical and unethical practices. It can be used to cure his Cinnamon ailment, or create a Bio-Engineered Virus that is immune to any sort of treatment and is deadly enough to kill off all mankind. really a crapshoot. Homegrown Bio-Labs are a real threat to our national security. i mean look at Fauci and what he made in his lab in china.....
@@angelwhispers2060 That would suck so bad! I love foraging for mushrooms and collecting them. They rot really fast but it’s one of my favorite activities when my back yard gets full of them.
Man, I can't imagine being allergic to cinnamon. I'd be so sad. I love it so much.
Same, cinnamon in the air or food makes me breath little harder 😅 I kinda dislike christmas season because of that. Decorating gingerbread cookies is a huge thing in scandinavia, and even baking them in the oven while I'm in the house does that to me.
This is the first time I've ever seen someone turn cinnamon, but wow it turned out great! Awesome work.
Absolutely gorgeous container. I love the marbled look. I'll bet that your workshop smells amazing.
Im thinking the shop smells like heaven! Nice job Villy! Are you using that container now to store your leftover cinnamon sticks? Seems appropriate to me! Well done!
I bet it smelled great until that chuck went flying, then I imagine the shop smelled like soiled shorts.
@@mc-sp8zr XD
Bro I would have collapsed from the fumes
@@alexjvv7053 you mean the cinnamon or the resin? Man prolly wears a mask since he does it for a living lol
I've never seen a tool just break like that, wow. Glad you weren't hurt by it (I'm assuming you'd have mentioned if you were). I know that even small tools can be dangerous if they go flying like that. Anyway, that looks amazing. What a lovely little jar.
The "hm!" She that happened sounded like he was OK, just surprised it happened

Reads this Forgets Remembers Sees video is almost over I wonder when somethings gonna go fly- oh
I had all kinds of doubts for this project, but damn if the final result isn't simply beautiful.
That was so beautiful! Excellent job! Keep the good work
Cinnamon is my all time favourite flavour and smell in the whole world. I need this canister in my life, it’s absolutely gorgeous!
I really love, love, love that you didn't overuse colour. Very nice effect and subtle.
Yes I agree...turned out beautifully
One of the reason I like videos like this, is that they answer questions 5 year-old-me had!
Make a full set of such pots for every spice and having that particular spice in the make. Like black pepper, coriander seeds etc. It would be wonderful kitchen gift.
This turned out amazing!! Never knew cinnamon could look that cool as a jar!
That project turned out beautifully, I can’t get over the depth and richness of the project! Thank you for sharing your craftsmanship with us.
I appreciate the dedication seeing a bad idea through to the end, despite the obvious results early on.
I watched this high by accident and I’ve been mesmerized. I do love watching these kinds of videos. Beautiful work and I’m sure you and your workshop smelled wonderful. Glad I stumbled into your channel. Subscribing and man that tool breaking was startling!
plastic and cinnamon breaking metal is startling on its own 😳
I watch these kinds of videos exclusively when I’m high✌️🌳
what a coincidence I am also high
Dude im blazed tooo
@@markruffalo8761 Same here, also watched a few after droppin a couple tabs, quite entertaining. With all of these turning videos, I like to slow down the speed to .5x and put on some chill-step/house beats. Makes for a relaxing end to the day.
Not only does it look beautiful, but I bet it smells really nice too!
This had to smell as amazing as it looks!
It looks like an ancient, beautiful antique.
It looks like the chuck/bit stayed in the piece after trying to back the bit out? This same thing happened to me a while back. I backed the bit out too fast, the chuck stayed in the spinning piece, and instead of breaking, it spun around a bunch and shot up clean through my ceiling. Scared the shit outta me and am glad it didn’t go through me.. Also glad you’re okay 🙏🏽
Beautiful, I would never have thought cinnamon would look so beautiful. Wonderful craftsmanship.
The reveal was so wonderful. It's something about being able to see through the resin that I really like a lot. My first time watching your video.
This is probably the best wood turning video I’ve seen
I didn't expect it to come out so pretty!
As a cook, I'm conflicted here. The end result is great looking, and I bet that it will smell nice for decades.
So what is the conflict?
@@frolic6366 the conflict is probably using the cinnamon in the project instead of food lol
@@morgotha42 😁
Kenny! You ain't cook nuttin' but dem ribs down at the state line bar.....psh! A cook.....
The ancient Egyptians used cinnamon in the embalming process for their mummies - and according to the archeologists who opened their tombs, you could still smell it thousands of years later.
Never expected cinnamon to be used like that. Really cool.
I was like, heck yeah send that but through!!! WHAMMO! Great job looks awesome!
Imaginative. Whimsical. Perfection!!!
Wow it’s lovely. I also liked it before you hollowed it out, looked like a great spindle for a table leg or lamp base.🙂
Most important question. Does it smell like cinnamon??? If so i see lovely ornaments made from similar blanks.
That is so amazing! I love watching your creations. Everything is so beautiful and unique.
Great project and a way to "spice" up the ol workshop ;)
Would love to see this same design, but with a near black darker resin. That way it will look like a tortoise shell color, could use it for mixing shaving cream etc. Really cool
Wow, beautiful! The possibilities are unlimited.
You sir, are a craftsman!
I hit "LIKE" before watching. One of the few times my prediction was accurate.
Thanks you sir
It looks absolutely stunning. Cinnamon sticks. Who'd have thought
That is just so cool and novel!! Turned out great, could store spices in it 👍👏🙏
Very satisfying when you polished it up
I want one!!! Bet that was the best smelling cutting ever😂😂
Gorgeous!! Excellent craftsmanship 👏
This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ! You are an incredible artist. When that bit let go I jumped and was hoping you were okay and that it didn't ruin your project. SCARY. What a beautiful final product.
I may need to work on my empathy. Lol. My thoughts were, I hope the project is okay. Oh, and the human too I guess. Need him for more fun projects. Haha.
That would be an incredible cup set 😍
That would look amazing as a lamp!
Beautiful
What a wonderful idea that turned out beautifully. Thanks
So pretty 🤩
one of the most beautiful things I ever seen. congratulations!
Very nice job. I agree with the others on how well that turned out
The shop must've smelled awesome during this whole process. The Cinnamon is brilliant. Well done.👍
This is high key genius
This masterpiece turned out so amazingly gorgeous. Great work. I’m glad you didn’t get hurt when that tool broke!

Great effect with the cinnamon sticks. Well done.
Cinnamon is my favourite. I'd love to buy this!

That is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching
Some facts about cinnamon:1- it's dried bark of Cinnamomum zeylanicum trees Family: lauraceae 2- it contains many active constituents but the main one is cinnamic aldehyde in addition to tannins and mucilages 3- it's used medicinally as hypotensive agent due to vaso-dilating effect of cinnammic aldehyde , it's also used as astringent due to tannins and of course as condiment and spice
This is my favorite so far!
It turned, ahem, out very beautiful.
That looks beautiful and probably smells great!
Wow that is beautiful. So very cool looking!😘
Looks fabulous!!! Pop's always said: ... .when you hear that squeak that means chatter and with chatter is vibration and with vibration shit breaks...Glad to see ( I believe ) no injuries!! Beautiful piece!!!
Thats one fancy Q-Tip Holder :)
Absolutely gorgeous.

Looks great Villy, nice idea. I bet your workshop had a nice smell to it while you were turning 👍😉
that shop has got to smell absolutely amazing
Wow I am amazed at such artistry. Humans are amazing! Thank you for sharing your lovely work. It makes me smile.
Great job it turned out beautiful
That’s freaking amazing!
Step by step, you made that exactly how I hoped you would.
Looks so cool! Creative & fantastic work! Thank you!
Quick tip: It’s good to pull out every once in awhile to release more of what your trying to bore when going deep like that. It also helps keep your drill bits as sharp as possible. I liked this video though. Very cool 😎
That is a gorgeous piece, my friend. Well done!
Wow. That turned out amazing. Great job. Thank you for sharing.
I love this shape. Its quite exotic and shows off the cinnamon so well. Beautiful! :-) :-)
Gorgeous lidded box. Love your work. I've considered turning resin in my shop but don't know what I would do with the shavings. Currently my wood shavings get used as bedding for animals, bulking material for our composting toilet system or just straight composted for the garden. Curious whether there is a way to recycle resin shavings.
If you made resin artwork you could use it to cut down on how much new stuff you need to pour. But it also depends on where the shavings come from (i.e. does it have random stuff from the previous project)
I bet it could be used as packing material for shipping stuff. But it would just get thrown away after anyway.
You could use the shavings in other projects. It might make a cool kaleidoscope effect if it was colored or had different stuff in it!
@@MolecularMachine quite messy for packaging material
use it for textures for other projects....like snow for a diorama ....or paint it for debris
The shop must have had a wonderful aroma while turning that project!
This dude is something else, he’s got tattoos, the drip, a smart watch, homie is doing wood arts and crafts
The cinnamon smell must have been fantastic. Awesome work overall; great job!!!
Extraordinario!!!! 👏👏👏 me gusta lo qué haces. Felicitaciones
This has got to be one of the most amazin thinngs I've seen anyone build. Awesome!
I am as much impressed by your initial vision of what might happen as I am of the outcome.
didn't cross my mind that even small ornaments like these could be this time intensive in the making
Very awesome! 👍
Beautiful work. Seeing the clear translucent result caught me by surprise. During the video I started wondering - when hollowing out a pot like this or a vase, could you realistically only remove material near the walls, leaving an inner block intact for a second small object, like a cup? Separating that block from the base would be challenging.
The only thing that i can say and know about cinnamon is that i love it 😁!
