Today I'm trying out a new challenge, every room I build has to be 1 tile bigger than the last, starting at 1x1!

Build a house where every room is a different shape, you can have two random generators one for the rooms (master bedroom, children's room, office, main bathroom, hallway, entry room, basement, balcony, in suite bathroom, kitchen, living room, dinning room, patio, etc) and another one for the shapes (square, rectangular, round, romboidal, star, arrow, oval, heart, cross, triangle, octagon, T shape, L shape, etc)
How the hell - What would that end up looking like?? Guess James is gonna have to make it so we can see😃

Can you make like an apocalypse-survival house? You’re the only Simmer I’d trust on that job. Like, big fences around it, a little garden, solar panels and water collectors. A house where people could live in total isolation, keeping any threats out.

@@w_nacht thanks ! I love her and her builds! Though I think that her builds aren’t extremely “playable”... for one: my game would crash with so much debug clutter! And they are usually just cities overthrown by aliens, whereas I want to see the shelter for survivors... more Walking Dead kind of style.

I just imagine the fireplace being broken like in old houses so you put things around it to make use of it
i like the idea of the three main characters living in this wacky house and slowly earning more money so you can end up renovating it (so you keep the shell but fix up the interior and exterior)! i also wonder if you could do a normal rags to riches and then just go on vacations to mt komorebi to explore the snowy escape pack but also have the rags to riches element (if that's important for you to have in this lp) :)
I like that idea! Plus make them pay for the bills any way they can while going on vacation frequently, and to give them an incentive to leave, maybe they want to build the rental of their dreams but the lot is empty to start. So they have a home but they can only spend a day or two doing whatever they want in Mt. Komorebi, and they have to make money to revamp the house as well as building a proper vacation home in the snowy landscape (force it to be on the snowy side so they need shelter but can also theoretically get to the hot springs easier.) They can't go until they get enough money to buy tents and the money for renting the land. One of them could be into knitting, pick up where mom left off, and try to make money off Plopsy which is hard (and I guess buy one of those chairs you can carry in your inventory.) Another could be into collecting Simmies and sell off the duplicates. The third could be into skiing and eventually become a ski instructor. Any careers (maybe freelance) or force them to be unemployed and make enough money that way. XD

Mine too! Quite often there are random rooms everywhere because they try to fit as many bedrooms as they can in to a house.

Oh it totally gave me tiny English student housing vibes too. Especially the living room. And the tiny bedroom with a big bed just crammed in.
Yes! I used to live in a house at university just like it, but it was an older house rather than just run down.
My kitchen at uni was literally the same size, just flipped around a bit. and I totally agree with the placement of rooms, one of my houses was so random
You could start them in this house and renovate it like a flipper challenge as you play. Your sims could be slowly flipping this house, making changes and upgrades as you earn money. I think that would be really cool to see you renovate this house. You could use half walls and inner gardens and skylights and arches. Make it super modern so it's completely different from how it is now. that would be soo cool
They’ve inherited the property from their vampire relatives, and they work to get it renovated! Move the house to snow escapes and each brother can do a different thing to earn money for the reno!

I think it makes sense! The strange vampire family lived in this maze house with hardly any windows and it’s run down! But the brother want to leave a ‘normal’ non vampire life! So they reno the house! Also one of them could become a chief and try to make the cure for them!!

Immediate thought: woah beard Second thought: this reminds me of the Winchester mansion in California. Third thought: I think you should start with this house but maybe move to strangerville or something? How it could start... Ambrose has been recognized by his true father, senior pollination technician #? (I forgot the number) for his work as a civil designer and fabrication and was beamed back to his actual home planet. This left Lilith with three kids she... never really wanted, to be honest. She just wanted to get buff and drink blood, that is the perfect after life for her. So she vanished out of there and they are left all alone. Unable to afford Ambrose’s container home mansion, they get some help from Bob and move back to strangerville? Where Ambrose was born?

If you want a backstory for why the kids end up in this house, maybe it's one of Bob's investments from his original dream of being a slumlord. It definitely has those vibes.

@@stonecat676 how do u do that if u already have the game and some packs? do u have to delete the entire game including all my progress? jfc i want all the dlc but 1. im not smart enough to pirate it and 2. my grandma character who kills all her husbands with cowplants won't be there :/
@@hamsackk I had the legit game and I uninstalled everything but not my files and downloaded cc and whatnot and when I downloaded the pirates version with all dlcs I had everything and my people and my various save files
@@hamsackk you can keep your saves, theres a save folder you copy to your desktop. pirate all the dlcs, and then put the save folder back in. you should then have all the dlc and still keep your saves

This build reminds me of old federation houses. Where there has been extensions done over the decades and it’s just weird and pokey 😂
When my partner and I were looking at buying a house in Goulburn I swear every second house we saw was literally just like this house! A Rabbit warren is what my mum calls it. Such an authentic build haha

this reminds me of the houses me and my friends grew up in. Hallways, small rooms, lot of stuff. The bathrooms are on point xD
I'm a good fan/viewer. And my option is to start in this house in another place than the Snowy Escape Map. The goal of the family is to work towards fully finish renovating and selling this house and move to a more fancy house in Komorebi. Mainly because the family might be fans of Asian culture and winter sports for example.

U can get a lot of money from vending machines in snowing escape
Yeah. I did a Simmis to Simoleons play where I used Simmis from the vending machine to earn my money. Totally doable! 👍
Yeah, lilsimsie tried to do that, she started with 0 simoleons, searched and sold some collectibles and started using that money to use it on vending machines... but you need to be careful, her sim died because of a vending machine-
Just don't start in the lower right neighborhood (W...something). Especially if you have Seasons. Only two harvestable plants there, one dig spot. I tried starting out there in a current game and ended up having to go to Oasis Springs because I couldn't even get $50 to start with the vending machines. Also, it was three days of thunderstorms and she kept getting hit by lightning.
for the snowy escape let's-play question; I think it should be an average start of money/starter home but like they're "rags to riches" Olympic athletes sorta, so like the goal is to be the best at a certain sport and get like rich by it or suceed in the skill perhaps

I always wanted a house with a dedicated "pet room". I used to always do this in my Sims 1 games, and line the walls with all the different caged pets you could have XD
I'd love to see James figuring out how playable his builds like this are. I'm totally into that idea but I also like the mini builds as he's playing 🤷♀️
You could do a let’s play about some friends who lived in this house, and they decided to use some money they have to go to the snowy escape world (can’t remember the name) and experience the culture and become the best at snowboarding! They would “live” in a camping park, with only tents and outdoor showers, and they would have to make some money to be able to stay there and become the best snowboarders in town!!!
Watching james having fun building in the sims is one of my favorite things to do

First of all, welcome back James we have missed you. Love the new video! You could rags to riches at an old BigWallet property like the farm or the factory, completely strip it out, and then build an awesome house in Snowy Escape that they're aiming to buy. Like take them on holiday there and when they go they fall in love with the area and the skiing and snowboarding and the culture etc, and maybe they meet someone special, so when they go home they come up with crazy money making schemes, something other than painting gardening or writing. And then when they move they can spend all their money on their new house, and have to rebuild their fortune by doing extreme sports

I love this! wacky build challenges have given me so much inspiration to try building more myself, and I’m finding recently I’m enjoying building way more than gameplay!

You should do a color harmony theme, where every room is a different harmony. It could be complementary, triad, split complementary, double complementary, analogous, analogous accented...etc. I think it'd look super cool.

This house reminds me so much of a family member's house. It used to have these weird hallways and was kind of cramped. This build really brought back memories of running around the maze of a house. Great build!
I like the idea of a LP in a weird house like this, like when LilSimsie put her third baby challenge heir in an old barn rather than a boring starter.
This house reminds me of the 'find the bathtub' house, which you should definitely check out if you haven't already!
You could start the LP as sort of a throwback to Sims Bustin' Out because that lot gives me Dudley's Trailer type vibes with what the area looks like and the run down house.
Love this build! Feel like you built my grans house lol Had an idea for a challenge too whilst watching this! Build a house but you roll a dice for the room dimensions! So two dice rolls per room, one for the width, and the other for the length. So you could roll a 5 and 6 for the first room (5x6), then a 3 and a 5 for the next room (3x5) etc etc. You’d also have the chance of getting rooms with dimensions like 2x8 or 1x 10 etc!

I can totally imagine if it was a student house the quieter roommates taking the 2 more secluded bedrooms and the rowdy party roommate taking the one that is connected to the dining room kitchen. The flow of the living into dining into kitchen area is so well done! The only room I find kinda weird is the pet room, perhaps the roommate with the single bed is a huge pet geek with aquariums, puppies and stuff and decided to pay a bit more.
Would love to see either a Vanilla or Legacy LP in this house. It would be fun to see many people inhabit and grow in this quirky home!

the chaotic energy of this house is so fitting for one of your let's play series I think the youngest brother should have a cat bc his room is connected to the cat room & maybe the aquarium is there for the cat to watch the fish!! As for the storyline there's lots of avenues you could go down but maybe the older brothers decide to move out & start their own life & they have dreams of moving to Komorebi. Their younger brother wants to come with them, and this is the only place they can afford or smth. Excited to see what you come up with, and you seem to have more of a sparkle again - hope you're looking after yourself bud :)

I did this and went to 21. It's a 3 bedroom and 4 bathroom so far. It's on a 30x30 lot in Forgotten Hollow and so far is very huge. And me, being the megabrained 5 billion steps ahead of the present, I already know what the house would look like, so I don't want to finish it 😂. Especially since it's so big. But yeah, I did amazing. I'm also proud of how I used the tiny rooms. I used the 1 tile as a linen closet, I used the 2 tiles as a closet for the 3 tile laundry room.

I think I'm going to combine this challenge with a rags to riches! So I'm only allowed to start a house with a 1 tile room, add a 2 tile to it etc. I have a feeling that will be quite the challenge 😅

For the Let's Play with Ambrose's kids, they should start in a van...down by the river. Make a 3x6 house, but styled to look like a van. Have one couch in the back, with a tent and a campfire nearby. About this build specifically: A quirky, but fun layout. Having to walk back through multiple rooms just to get to a certain room reminds me of my "Amazing Climaxis" house that I put on the gallery. In that house, all rooms are connected by stairs, no doorway into an adjacent room, you might have to go upstairs and then down a set of stairs to get to the adjacent room. It's a crazy house to play in 1st person mode. I started building it right after we had the configurable staircase update.
Wow this was so fun to watch since I feel like your builds are usually so spacious and not cluttered! Maybe Ambrose has to return to the motherland to visit his alien mother and that’s why the kids have to live on their own and take care of each other? I can’t remember the third name either 😂 I hope you, deli, and bowser are recovering 💗
The kids could start in this house, and the "riches" goal could be them earning enough money to have a nice house in the new pack world. Like they just work in a touristy town but want to BE the tourist one day haha

Honestly my favorite Let’s Play is Parenthood *because* of the house! It’s so chaotic and there’s so much to look at it’s wonderful! I genuinely hope you play in this house!!
Saw someone saying this a while ago, but make a restaurant with Ambrose children and let each child have a snowinterest. One is into rockcliming,one is into snowboarding etc. And the restaurant could have a winter theme. Really looking forward to seeing you on my screen again James, keep checking everyday if you have uploaded something. 😊
Re the coffee machine: my housemate works shifts in a hospital and she has her coffee machine on her bedside table so she doesn’t wake me up at weird hours
