  • And the TUF series does do some serious CPU stuff over elongated periods of time, I got one about 4 years ago with a ryzen processor and it has stood the test of time with heavy duty backend programming with some front end stuff 5 days a week and CS go ( I am old) on the weekends

    • @@1-crown434 After trying one myself, MSI Katana 17 has a cheap feel to their chassis since it has the same material used for their budget gaming laptops like the GF series, and also the display is horrible for it's price, very dim, not 100% color accurate. For the performance? it's fairly good.

  • TUF and military grade... I whacked my 2022 TUF A15 on the keyboard (not very hard mind) and the screen turned of... Dunno if I want to get the MB replaced or just buy a new one. I have had ASUS gear since 2007, and sadly the quality has been declining since then. Looking at other options. The screen is very nice too: 2560 x 1440p, 165 Hz, 3060 gpu and 6800 cpu. Ran my main game "Escape From Tarkov at high settings at 60 Hz without any problems. Put in 32 BG DDR5-5200 RAM in it.

  • Does the TUF A15 7735HS have working USB4 ? From what I heard USB4 support is only available on 7740HS models despite advertisement that all models have USB4, does it support thunderbolt accessories like eGPUs and dongles ?

  • Got mine last week and I'm really enjoying it! The package as a whole is brilliant! I will say my favorite is the trackpad, it's the first laptop I've used that doesn't need an external mouse! It wasnt cheap, even though it is classed as a "budget" laptop but it was worth it I don't need more than this! Can work and game on 1 system without any issues.

    • @@locke_ytb it has different modes, I run it on silent low power mode on battery and I've had it running for 4hours while working on it and the battery was +-40% if memory serves. Never really did it to check the overall battery life just never realized that I hadn't plugged it in 😂. It has a 90whr battery which is quite a bit larger than the other gaming laptops I looked at.

    • @@sayandas9381 nah I can see perfectly fine no issues with brightness for me. Comparing this to my monitor I noticed my monitor is busy burning my damn retinas it's so bright, this is way less harsh on my eyes. In the end you should buy what ticks most of the boxes you want. I had a list of things I wanted. From silly things like rgb keyboard and g-sync, to more important things like cpu and gpu performance, battery life and numpad to name a few.. What I paid and what I got is most impressive to me, all other rtx4060 laptops are way more expensive. In my country there is a +-$500 price difference between the acer and asus and I wasn't going to pay that difference..

  • I have to choose between this model and Victus 16 with i7-3700H, ddr5 5200, rtx 4060 tgp 115 w. Victus comes with charger of 200 w Asus has 240 w. Any thoughts to help me decide? Unfortunately, Victus doesn't have reviews.

  • Got the G17 with 7845HX and 4060. i can play 1440p with RT and Pathtracing at about 50fps 👍 1080p Ultra w/o RT at about 180fps 😳

  • I've trying to find this laptop on Amazon but with no success. Apparently, Amazon only sells the RTX 4050 model in Mecha gray. I'm looking for the one shown in this video which I believe is the Jaeger gray variant. Looks way cooler imo than the Mecha gray. I was thinking about picking up the Asus Strix G16 RTX 4060 model but I do not like the look of it and it's too big imo.

  • Is this TuF with Ryzen 7 7940HS RTX 4070 worth getting over the Asus Rog strix g15 i9-13980HX RTX 4060 if price-wise? TuF one is more cheaper here, around $80 cheaper. Not a professional hardcore gamer btw only play some games like genshin, hsr, elden ring, the Sims kind & some graphic design + editing works. Thoughts?

  • Alright, I was really enjoying this review, but can't hold back the hate for saying it sounds flat unlike a JBL speaker, those are tuned towards parties, increased bass and muddy at that. (Loved the video though) Also really worth mentioning you can install 64gb of fast ddr5 ram with 2x2tb m.2 making it amazing for productivity at only 1400,-

  • Gosh these days I am struggling whether should I buy Lenovo LOQ or this ASUS TUF :D Lenovo is like 350€ cheaper but have "only" Ryzen 7 7840HS (which is more or less the same as TUF's Ryzen 9 7940HS) & RTX 4060 instead of TUF's 4070 :O But I guess for 1080p either is fine

  • Hi, I just got this laptop yesterday, what gaming profile do you use? Mine seems to run really hot, I was playing CSGO and my CPU was in the 90 degrees Celsius, I have updated my bios and am running windows 11.

    • Csgo is a cpu intensive game. As r7 variant of this laptop does not implement the newer cooling system, your laptop will really run hot.

    • @khalifa6413 I can confirm I have the new 84 fan variant, and the issue was that I was in performance mode and not turbo, so the fans did not ramp up as much, it is around 10 degrees cooler in turbo mode.

  • Bought mine a week ago, i was using my steam deck as my main gaming pc, the deck is amazing, i saw the rog ally and thought...maybe that one...but looking at the rog ally for almost 800 quid, the tuf was a no brainer at £1179, the 4060 i thought would be a bit crap....wow, 1080p, 144hz maxed setting dlss fortnight 200fps, forza horizon 5, same maxed out dlss, 144fps locked game looks super amazing, colours etc, this laptop is amazing, i love it and its not as power hungry as my desktop which i have now donated to my brother as i dont need it, yea, quality laptop, all i needed to do was add my 2nd nvme drive for the storage. Also....the sound, the sound is amazing, i just got my dolby atmos set up as i found voices a tad quiet, but with atmos on voice volume in 100% louder, really good gaming sound.

  • I dislike the black colour. There is the A16 7940HS 7700s with beige bottom, but keyboard top panel is still black. The G14 black has the soft touch coating, which is even worse fingerprint magnet and durability.

  • got mine, and want to put 1tb already... ssd upgrades can be done on your own right? edit: have put 1tb and yeah can be done by yourself, the m.2 screw tho is stuck like stone in there, have to use a pliers to get it out

    • If you can find them for the same price or 100dollars more i think its absolutely the tuf. I just refounded my g5 (was 1200) because i found this tuf deal for 1290euros. this has better cooling panel battery mux.
