The 3rd is so badass
No it wasnt 😂
@@ericdxfan511yes it was.
@@ericdxfan511Yes it was
The 3rd film was subject to deceptive marketing, which left people feeling like they were lied to. The trailers heavily implied that you were getting a War film of a final massive battle between Apes and Humans for control of the planet. The actual film was more of a Prison Escape thriller where after a couple skirmishes, Caesar and his apes spend almost the rest of the film in captivity.
@@retloclive9118 it was a war movie, but not war as in battles. It's a war movie as in internment camps, famine and political assassinations. Still has some battle scenes though.
The third one was great
I’m finding it hard to believe people are saying they didn’t like War. For the past 7 years I haven’t heard anything other than immense praise for that film. Personally I think it’s either the best or second best of the entire franchise.
I thought it was okay
All you have to do is look at it's Box Office. Movie opened high and then it tanked.
It's definitely not the best in the trilogy. It was a good movie, but it was way below the first two.
I think it's the second best in the trilogy, after "Dawn...". When I watched it I wasn't expecting non stop action, because I already knew it wasn't that kind of film, so I just enjoyed it for what it was.
War was brilliant. Even managed to make Woody Harrelson bearable.
Part 3 was great! Come on y’all haha
I used to not give a damn about the Planet of the Apes franchise until my uncle dragged me and my family into going to watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes after I graduated from high school. Been a fan since. The stories and visuals are just awesome!
I don't care you hate third movie everyone love third
I have loved them all so far.
I love War for the Planet of the Apes. It’s my favorite from the trilogy. John however has stated in the past that he was disappointed with the film because he felt both the title and movie poster were misleading and to his point they were.
I didn't like the 3rd. 🤷♂ It was an anti-climactic slogfest.
When did he say he hated it?
I only really enjoyed the 1st. The other two were alright.
The planet of the Apes trilogy is one of the greatest trilogy’s of all time
Yeah easily it like I compared it to The Dark Knight trilogy the first one was the weakest, 2nd was better and then the third both heroes (Ceaser and Batman) died at the end of their respective movies (I'm sure Bruce either faked his death or it would be just Alfred's imagination)
@@TheFMHatter1986 totally agree mate.. Batman trilogy wow too.. amazing films
me too i watch the Rise, Dawn and War trilogy every 2 weeks or so. The are MASTERPIECES and i’m positive Kingdom will be up there alongside them with its own trilogy.
The first trilogy was a collective masterpiece in visuals and storytelling. The next one is definitely on my shortlist for must see movies.
I’m glad it looks good so far . I’m still surprised how good the last trilogy was . I’ll never forget when Rise came out ppl went in with low expectations and then with Dawn came out it ended up being not only better than the first but also damn near one of the best sequels to any franchise .
I dont get why everyone is worried that Cesar isnt there, he died, what do you expect them to do
Got my girlfriend to reluctantly wath Rise, Dawn og War of the Planet of the Apes.. now she is completly hooked and impressed with the world building, VFX, story and acting of these movies. She`s probably as much hyped to see Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes as I am! Going to the biggest screen possible in my Area!
When did you get your tickets?
@@erickvoshel1 this thursday.
I love Dawn of the Planet of the Apes so much, it's the best movie in the franchise. However, the San Francisco bridge exploding poster featuring Caesar on the horse was misleading. Still think about that, ha.
After watching the recent trilogy again. War is probably the strongest so far on a technical filmmaking standpoint. Everything looked so damn real in that one.
@@brobro9169 I kind of feel that even though they're not the same universe or genre, it had the same kind of feel of The Dark Knight trilogy first film as kind of weak, then second was better than the first then the final film in the franchise was Ceaser dying at the end (but we all know Bruce faked his death at the end of that movie) I wished we'd seen Matt Reeves instead of Rupert Wyatt's version of Rise of the Planet of Apes but other than that it's a solid trilogy and I hope they go the same route here
Lego needs to release Planet of the Apes sets
yesss😩😩
I started the Apes 🦍 marathon tonight with the wife and I’m super excited to see it next Sunday with the family!!!
Going to do mine on Monday to Wednesday 😃
Trust me. You will enjoy every second of it. Hope you are looking forward to the new film as well.
I love the new Planet of the apes series of films. Looking forward to this one
I just hope it does well as I loved the last trilogy and hope that those who loved the original will love this one as there are some nods to the original and can't wait to see it as I can't wait
the last trilogy was one of the best trilogies ever. This is my most anticipated film of the year
Can't wait to see this next Friday
Not caring what Critics say...,I'm going Ape next weekend.
Mouse guard was canceled like 5 years ago. It got axed after the Disney Fox merger. That’s how ball ended up getting the apes job
I just bought my ticket for Thursday. I’m old. I saw the 1968 original at a drive-in movie theater. I saw “Rise” with my wife and a friend of hers because we were bored. Going to the movie was kind of a joke but we were all very pleasantly surprised.
My mom got our tickets this Saturday, so we can see the movie on opening weekend. It is my Mother Day Gift to her.
I loved the Planet Of The Apes series. The new one. The first one was alright, but the second and third were pure and awesome. Can’t wait for Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes. And looking at the critics, I am ready for an adventure.
I rewatched the others and I can’t wait for this one
I'm totally looking forward to seeing it.
The second was the best of the 3.
This is my most anticipated movie of year
It’s funny Wes ball is directing legend of Zelda considering the plot of kingdom is basically a fantasy movie
Wasn't there an article going round saying it had bad first reactions at a test screening
Yup!
I love all of them so underrated i swear!
My most anticipated movie of the year. Seeing it on opening day
This makes me so happy, the Planet Of The Apes reboot trilogy in my opinion is probably the second greatest trilogy ever made only behind the Evil Dead trilogy, all 3 were masterpieces and each one I loved more than the last one, and thus far this movie looks pretty amazing too, I was super excited about seeing a modern day take on the Charton Heston era of the Planet Of The Apes story, the only thing I was a little nervous about was that Matt Reeves is no longer involved, the idea of passing the franchise along to someone else after 10 years of it being under his command seemed risky to me, but then again Rise wasn’t his movie either and that was still amazing, and so this could be another one of those situations, all I know is that I’m super excited to hear that it’s apparently good
Matt Reeves and Wes Ball are buddies. Wes is very talented and Matt gave him is trust as Andy Serkis. :)
Evil Dead slaps hard
I plan to take my mother to the new "Apes "film this weekend as a gift for Mother's Day. Anyone else get their tickets?
OPINIONS: Remember that in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes there was a shot about the news talking about a mission to Mars showing that the rocket was just leaving, and in original Planet Of The Apes the astronauts WERE in a mission in another planet and at the end they weren't in another planet, there were just several years in the future. Do you think we'll see something similar here with this movie?
I think Studio confirmed that at the end of the day they want both the reeves and Wes movies to connect full circle with the origanal Apes tmovies.
You're bang on. I think a future movie uses this fact. They were 'lost' on the expedition to Mars. I think what will likely be the case is that they survived and had to build a human civilisation from scratch and have slowly terraformed mars to make it suitable for humans. One day they'll return from Mars, trying to ascertain what happened to Earth a d humanity, and THAT movie will be the true remake of the Charlton Heston original.
There is a theory that Mae is an astronaut, like Taylor.
I kind of feel that even though they're not the same universe or genre, it had the same kind of feel of The Dark Knight trilogy first film as kind of weak, then second was better than the first then the final film in the franchise was Ceaser dying at the end (but we all know Bruce faked his death at the end of that movie) I wished we'd seen Matt Reeves instead of Rupert Wyatt's version of Rise of the Planet of Apes but other than that it's a solid trilogy and I hope they go the same route here
Planet of the Apes saved 20th Century Fox 45 years ago, its going to do it again.
Save them from what? Disney already bought them…
How many times do you say "I", "me", "mine"??? The JOHN CAMPEA JOHN CAMPEA is disrespectful of the team. Maybe watch a movie or two about narcissism and see if anything is familiar. Please !!! Always enjoyed you. Its getting out of hand
@@maverickmegastar Just because a company is now a subsidiary of a larger corporation, doesn't mean it can't be shuttered from not being profitable. It was bought to make money, not to be a drain on the parent company.
Cant wait to watch Such Masterpiece !
So much hype
2:23 😅summer with a "c"
May 10th will be A WONDERFUL DAY
If everything goes successfully, I might be seeing this movie with my daughter. She's been seeing trailers on Hulu and thinks it looks cool, but I need to test the waters with the previous trilogy first lol. Edit: also, why does most of the JCS dislike War? It's universally acclaimed everywhere else.
Trust me, the previous trilogy is a masterpiece. You and your daughter will not be disappointed.
@@erickvoshel1 oh, I meant test to see if she's mature enough for it. Caesar's trilogy is my all-time favorite film trilogy, but my 10 year old still gets a bit queasy with certain subjects. My wife and I showed the kids Harry Potter when she was 7 and she cried because of the dead unicorn 😬
@@my5head I completely understand. Thanks for clarifying.
I’ll be honest. I didn’t like the 3rd instalment at first, but after a rewatch it thoroughly enjoyed it.
I think its goal for me is it surpass of at least rival or fall a bit short behind dawn
Got my tickets for Thursday
I think i would prefer Kingdom to Dune part 2. Kingdom seem to stand between a popcorn movie and a indie film produce with heart and passion. I prefer this kind of "fantasy" and adventure tone than the dry and cold tone of Dune. I like Dune part 2 and some scenes was powerful but Villeneuve cinema lack of the warmth tone that make me want to comeback. The new apes franchise resonate more with my own sensibility and sense of awe. That said, War was a bit bleak and sinister but even then i like it more than Dune because of the emotional core of Caesar journey. Dawn stay my favorite of the 3 but Kingdom put a flavor of adventure and discovery that is really appealing to me! Finally, i'm a sucker for Weta work! Thanks to Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor and all the crew, old and new, that work for the best FX company ever! They show the world how CGI is suppose to look like and be use.
It'd be cool to play planet of the apes video game. Play in a free world in that post apocalyptic scenery
Mouseguard was unfortunately axed when Disney acquired 20th Century Studios, but I guess they saw promise in Wes Ball and gave him this project instead.
Not even heard of the it till they mentioned it here
The 1st one is set in 3978 and this one 2330s so still 1,640 some odd years away from Charleton Heston arriving. I believe with Wes Ball saying that this new trilogy is the "Bronze Age" that its going to go into the formation of what we eventually see with the anti evolution descended from Ape god rhetoric from the original
The dislike for War doesn't quite make sense to be, but then again everyone is allowed their own opinion and preference. I thought it was a great way to end the trilogy
Still good just disappointing for some coming off how good Dawn was
This film will be 300 Years after the third I hope the film is so dope
I haven’t seen the rest of the movies yet so right now all I need to know is it’s great because Zelda is my favorite gaming franchise.
Was War For The Planet Of The Apes a movie that got worse for John over the years or what? He was positive about it in his review.
I love each of the original trilogy for different reasons. Rise had great drama, as well as an excellent start towards the Ape Uprising Dawn had a great story, as well as great characters As for War; personally, I think it had a perfect balance of the elements that made the first two movies so good
@@SilverScribe85 Right on.
I think this'll be one of the best movies of the year and might be nominated for Best Picture. I can't wait.
It won’t be nominated for best pic etc because the film industry doesn’t like motion capture work. 😟
War is great but the title and marketing was misleading. Going into it I hadn’t seen the marketing so I wasn’t aware of all misleading information in there.
It's been a while since i've seen it, but from what I remember Rise felt more like an actual war than the movie titled war lol.
@@1Chasg It’s more metaphorical I think
I am so excited, I could explode!!!! Thursday night can't ccome fast enough!!!
Is Ray wearing a bluey T-shirt 😍😍
I can see another war between humans and apes in future "Planet of the Apes" movie.
So the next one is gonna be called revenge of the planet of the apes
Why...ape...talk...like...Tarzan?... Learn...talk...from...Tonto?... Aliens! Zombies! Monsters! Incest! "Curse of the Swine-Beast" is the best movie in cinema history!
If it's good it gives me more hope for the Zelda movie
Roll on June, we won't get it here by then 😭
SPECULATION: Remember the first movie's mention of a Mars expedition just before the virus started affecting people? I think a future movie uses this fact of those astronauts who were supposedly 'lost' on the expedition to Mars. I think what will likely be the case is that they survived and had to build a human civilisation on Mars from scratch at the same time the Apes were building one on Earth. But they had an obvious head start. They would have slowly terraformed mars to make it suitable for humans. One day they'll return from Mars, trying to ascertain what happened to Earth and humanity, and THAT movie will be the true remake of the Charlton Heston original. A space faring humanity encountering an industrial age or just pre-industrial ape civilisation. Therell be a lot ofnscope fornfuture development from there. Including spacefaring Apes and perhaps an eventual reunificatuon of the two species.
That's a good possibility.
The marooned mission to Mars in the first film is a reference to the Astronauts of the original Planet of the Apes film, the ones that crash land back onto Earth 3000 years later being in cryo-sleep. They are even called the same name; Icarus.
Yeah i think some people still miss this point @@umanuu
Someone please just send me the ending of this movie, (I love spoilers)
But I thought it dragged too many times and 2 1/2 hrs.
Ive been saying for the past couple years I want a live action Zelda. Finally.

Kingdom of the planet of the apes without Caesar and Andy serkis😮
Andy Serkis was involved with Kingdom he taught the actors who to use the motion cam and set up ape school so the actors in Kingdom could learn to move and act like real apes and Owen Teague who plays Noa spent some time working in an ape sanctuary and he said on his second day there he found his inspiration for playing Noa.
Last Apes movie i saw was the Tim Burton one.Nothing i saw in the trailer really impressed me.If you want to talk about extraordinary ape (or monkey or gorilla )stuff there was alot more to connect to with in Godzilla x Kong. The only reason i'm interested in this one is because there's a human woman in it that seems to have a main role.
You have really been missing out, Rise, and especially Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the best ones!
