    • @@Lizziecuteme True, but 寂しい can also have a few other translations; it's not just strictly "lonely" in the sense of the meaning in English. It can be used loosely as just sort of any negative feelings that may have been _caused_ by loneliness or being left out, like this situation. So general "sadness" could be included. I can't think of any specific examples but I've definitely seen times where 寂しい has been used in a sentence that feels unnatural using "lonely" in English; based on the meaning and context it would make sense to use "sad" or another word, and that's actually how I feel for this situation as well. ~:~

  • I actually never thought or always had a second thought of how japanese people would act in situations like this publicly. Ive been prejudiced by statements that they won't butt in or not care because they don't want/like confrontations and they dont like to be the center of attraction. It's nice that there are people who stood up for the better.

    • Keep in mind it doesn't show the number of attempts this experiment has taken. The one shown in the video is probably a 1/1000 rare occurrence or something like that. Unless the video states exactly the probability of this happening in a given situation, then that stereotype of Japan not wanting to be the center of attraction or confront someone might still probably be true.

My bedroom was taken away and my stuffs thrown when I went to college, my younger brother was told to leave the house when he got into an accident, broke some bones and had to quit job. Her reason for telling my brother that? He is taking too much space she can't keep her stuff anymore. She threw all of our stuffs away and tells her children who's in elementary school to persuade my brother to move out quick. I never asked for her money. I just want to be treated like a human, not a garbage. But I guess that is too much to ask for...

This saying I love fits here. “Every child deserves a loving parent but not every parent deserves a loving child”. This wasnt all, I was hurt physically and people just watched or ignored me, so before anyone tries to convince me my family loves me, it sadly is not the case, though every day I wish it was so. Happiness for every child is what I want, I know it wont be everyone, I wasnt, but this made me hopeful that someday one child will be the last lonely child.

  • So amazing seeing the first Japanese man. I’ve always been fascinated with Japan when I started learning about their culture. They’ve always set the bar high by being polite and thoughtful of others. Thanks to him for radiating positivity and kindness by all means 🙇‍♀️ #🇯🇵is♥️

  • 😭i used to live in this amazing country. Some of the kindest people I've met in all my travels, hands down. I'm even more heartened to hear how the first man stood up for the kid, being patient with the mom and trying to convince her but not yelling at her. Just the way he approached the whole situation 😭

  • The most beautiful thing about this, is How they are so polite in this situation, they dont high level their voices or dont use bad words. Japanese people are very polite. ❤

  • I'm glad I have come across this channel. I live in japan for more than 3 years and i never thought japanese people would intervene in situations like this. How about an experiment with foreign actors? I'm really curious about their next actions/ reactions. Anyway, great video! This channel will gain more subscribers in the future ❤️
