ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO:
If your dog suffers itchy skin, hot spots, chews or licks at their feet often and gets ear infections, you could be dealing with dog skin yeast infection.
Things can get out of balance quickly when your dogs immune system is under stress and the yeast becomes overgrown and out of control spreading throughout the body and over the skin as fungus.
Welcome to the ugly world of dog yeast infections.
Here's 5 Signs of Dog Yeast Infection:
1. Smelly greasy skin and hair with possible dandruff.
2. Ear infection with scratching or head shaking.
3. Feet chewing and licking with rusty brown hair between toes that indicates yeast infection.
4. Patches of darkened or black skin with possible hair loss over them.
5. Small black patchy dots over the underbelly region and possible rusty brown or graying around the genital area.
Check for these signs of yeast infection in dogs and treat as soon as possible.
How to treat yeast fungal infections in dogs comes down to one of the main reason, DIET. The simple reason is that a kibble diet provides too much starch, which means, too much sugar and this fuels the yeast, it's that simple!
Kibble contains starches that are quickly converted to sugars and yeast lives off sugars.
Dogs don't need all that starch in their diet so what can you do to solve the problem?
Here's 5 ways to support your dogs gut with dog yeast infection home remedies and recommendations:
1. Give your dog probiotics to help balance the gastrointestinal system and boost gut health.
By far the best one I've researched over the years is Pet Ultimates Probiotics for dogs and I'll leave a link in the description above.
2. Try to limit the use of antibiotics as they indiscriminately kill all bacteria, not just the bad ones and can leave your dog worse off than before as yeast spreads.
3. Avoid giving your dog toxic drugs like flea and tick meds, worm meds or exposing them to household cleaners and garden insecticides and weed killers.
4. Oregano is a perennial plant best known for Italian cooking but with amazing healing power for treating allergies, candida, mange and yeast infections.
Mix the pure oregano oil with virgin olive oil at 1 part oregano oil to 4 parts olive oil, a 20% solution.
Oregano oil has excellent anti-fungal properties. For yeast infection, cancers, allergies, parasites, digestive problems, kennel cough or to boost the immune system, rub some oregano oil mixed with virgin olive oil on the pads of your dogs feet and between toes daily.
It will soak in and do the job of an antibiotic for internal infections but without killing off your dogs gut flora like vet prescribed antibiotics do.
For skin legions, skin cancers, sarcoptic and demodectic mange, bee stings and bug bites, ear infection, muscle pain, arthritis, contact dermatitis and any type of external yeast infection, rub the 20% solution onto the area daily until its gone.
5. Feed your dog a Healthier Kibble Diet. As we know, kibble fuels yeast, but what if, and without changing your current kibble diet, you could still bring your dogs guts flora levels back into balance and stop the yeast overgrowth?
The good news is, to overcome this problem, you don't need to change brands of kibble but by adding certain extras to your dogs kibble meals you'll quickly solve many dog health problems along with much of the yeast issues your dog faces.

    • Hi Jackie my boxer too have bad yeast infection. Could you tell me what kind of organic dog food you give to your baby? Currently my 11yr old is on the; the honest kitchen company and the no grain turkey. It's not the kibble kind it's the mix with water one. Please let me know what you use. Thank you!

    • @@reginalee4114 Hi Jackie, though I'd chime in. Re the ingredients in that Turkey meal: Ingredients: Dehydrated turkey, organic flaxseed, dehydrated potatoes, dehydrated spinach, dehydrated carrots, dried organic coconut, dried apples, dehydrated eggs, dried bananas, dehydrated celery, dried cranberries, dried organic kelp, minerals [tricalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, choline chloride, zinc amino acid chelate, iron amino acid chelate, potassium iodide, copper amino acid chelate, sodium selenite], taurine, vitamins [vitamin E supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), calcium pantothenate (vitamin B5), riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D3 supplement], fish oil (a natural source of DHA and EPA). The first 5 ingredients are the largest and number 3 is potatoes and potatoes are a big no-no if you want to avoid yeast. They simply turn to sugar fast once eaten. If you could find a more nutrition friendly option, maybe freeze dried raw or organic high protein based kibble and add some freash food extras to the meal, that would help. Also add probiotics to every meal: amzn.to/3xqa2i0 That's a US link, are you UK? To resolve yeast, feed zero carbs or low carbs, being wholegrain. Add fresh food like eggs, canned sardines and lots of veg. And no vaccines/dewormers/flea&tick/vet meds etc.

    @wyattearth4414@wyattearth4414 Жыл бұрын
    • I do go on a bit, but so much to say.. and I like detail.. Thanks for watching: bottom line is moving to more fresh foods in the diet and keeping carbs low as many kibbles are loaded with carbs 40%+. This may help: If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better. If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18 Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables. Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!). Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble. By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks. Some must do's: Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues) Very low carbs in diet (cause of inflammation) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives. Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it. NO white foods ie rice, potato, pasta..

    • Some good advice in this video. For temp relief use the oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T, it's neat so add 2 drops to tsp olive oil, mix well and rub all over feet. The diet is the main focus as it;s lilkely the fault of the feet issues. Try and keep carbs out of the diet as they lead to yeast, itchy skin, chronic feet licking/chewing. You'll want to take have fresh food as much of the diet if you can. So if feeding kibble, take half out and relace with eggs, canned sardines (in water), part cooked and blended veggies and any meats. Add live enzymes: amzn.to/37MrINq very anti yeast. Definitely feed soil based probiotics: amzn.to/3yoURqU great for digestion, better gut health and anti yeast. There's more but this is a good start. And No drugs, vaccines, lots of exercise. Does take a while to shift this but does go and you have a healthier dog overall anyway.

Simply spray into the eras twice daily and onto problem areas, plus add a teaspoon full to meals or drinking water. Just use for as long as the problem needs to recover. • The silver is excellent for ear infection. To clean the ears out, try using apple cider vinegar mixed 50:50 with water and wipe out the grease. Your right, it's the underlying diet that needs attention to clear the ears of infection and slow down the creation of yeast in the body. More fresh food in the diet is needed. There's my free guide which helps: healthydogforlife.com/guide or my ebook: Feed Your Dog Better contains three diet options: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ This may offer you some alternatives to work with.

  • She's 16 and has a broken spirit. After a few traumatic events, trial after trial of medication, vet appointment after appointment, mom failing at home remedies, uncomfortable collars, wearing t-shirts, scratching endlessly with sleepless nights,.. I felt really hopeless today. By God's grace I came across this video and you're the 1st person who has made the connection about carbs and yeast.. I continually am being told to feed her rice. Seems like the more I give her rice the more flare up! I am cutting out all rice immediately. She does so well on veggies I have almost always made her food and recently resulted to kibble thinking it would help, but again a flare up from those carbs. I'm off to get oregano to make the salve after a good bath and she will have yogurt and veg for a while with the sardines until I can order everything you have linked. This could change everything and I hope it does...she's unhappy in her golden years and I'm weary from the frustration.

Thinking back I was Forced to get her shots last year when moving into a new place - it had been 8 or 9 years maybe more since any kind of shot and everything about her changed. I tried some remedies for what I thought was ear mites (coconut oil, green tea, acv, teatree oil mixture etc) she hated it all and then couldn't hear me At All. Now she seems to hear me halfway but only really loud and pitched voice..I think its all gunked up, and definitely yeasty as she still shakes her head and scratches. Kitties are always sniffing her ears too. Do you recommend anything other than rubbing the 20% oregano solution into her ear? Starting from today I will have a good baseline now thats shes been without carbs and I'm confident all skin yeast will be killed with the oil mixture. • I just took my dog to the vet yesterday and she wanted to take the “shotgun approach“. She wanted me to spend $785, of which 87 was an exam fee, which I would gladly pay if she could definitively tell me what was wrong with my dog, that’s why I went to an “expert”. But clearly after doing some research my dog has yeast dermatitis. But the vet wanted me to put her on oral antibiotics and steroids along with tests and on top of all that she lied to me and told me the oral steroid was just an allergy medication. SO FRUSTRATING! Thank you Dan for being an honest voice of reason! You are invaluable to me! I just find it quite ironic the expensive vet told me to put her on antibiotics which I know will make her yeast problems worse! She is not a young, inexperienced vet either.

    • I know how you feel, very frustrating. I get this in the comments daily.. reams of words about a condition the vet can't fix and the bills are outrages. Then I reply with a simple explanation and the remedy/diet/supplements needed and now the pet parent has hope and an action plan.. and for free! I don't know the history here but reading between the lines, your dog needs fresh food in the diet, some probiotics, an antibiotic both orally and topically for starters. Oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T mix 1 drop in teaspoon of olive oil, mix well and massgae into affected areas and leave on. Do this twice weekly for the next month. At the same time here's an option if feeding kibble: If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better. Always add a quality probiotic: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!). Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.

  • Hi Dan, I'm a new subscriber and have found lots of great info for my 3 chihuahuas from you. I'm hoping you can guide me in the right direction. My 8lb, 13 yo, diabetic chi had digital dermatitis and a yeast infection on all 4 paws in Feb, my vet gave me chlorhexidine shampoo and it cleared up. It's back again and I used the shampoo...didn't work. Vet said he might be sensitive to it and to stop using it, gave me an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory...didn't work, got worse. Blackish-brown crusty stuff between his pads, red, swollen, open sores, won't walk. Now its on his lips from his constant licking. Vet also gave me a Rx for Hills prescription food...utter garbage. First ingredient in the dry was wheat, 3rd ingredient in the wet was corn. I can't give him Ketona because of the high pea protein. He's eating Keto Kibble with a little ground chicken. Would the oregano oil help him or should I use somethine else?

Start at half stated dose and build up over several days. This will help a lot too: amzn.to/3xqa2i0 Don't use the vet antibiotics as things will get worse in the gut health and the skin issues will return worse than before. Also, it's the diet mainly with possible help from vet drugs/vaccines/dewormers/flea&tick poisons causing this Begin the Healthier Kibble Diet which involves buying my ebook, reading it and following the Healtheir Kibble Diet, the first diet in the ebook. It's simple, pretty easy to do and will prevent the mange from ever coming back, plus the redness. Now your pup will grow up healthier too: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ Once the dermatitis is easily treated, the diet improved, I'd stay away from vet drugs, vaccines, dewormers etc (there's natural alternatives) and your dog will be much healthier long term. Ask questions if you want clarification but this is exactly what I would do to solve the problem and get your dog back.

Can't say enough good things about CBD oil for sezure control: healthydogforlife.com/CBD Keep carbs to a minimum and up the proteins. No drugs and vaccines ever if you can. No flea&tick or de-worm drugs either. I have natural alternatives for all of them. @OpalDragon24@OpalDragon243 жыл бұрын
    • @@OpalDragon24 CBD is good for boosting the dogs immune system so it can fight off infection and soothe arthritis pain. If yeast outbreak is your dogs main problem, it's their diet - kibble - that's the cause. To replace vet antibiotics - really bad for a dogs digestive system - use Oregano oil. Mix pure oregano oil with virgin olive oil at 1 part oregano oil to 4 parts olive oil, a 20% solution. So a 100ml bottle would be 80ml olive oil and 20ml oregano oil. You can also mix it with coconut oil if you have that.

Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables. Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/yeast/itchy/allergy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!). Some must do's: Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination) If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!) I'm here to teach natural health for our furry kids, not drugs, vaccs, butchery, kibble and $ig bills.

  • Hi Dan! My puppy is 3 months old. Her paws, ears and tail are red and has very flaky yellow skin 😭 I can't help myself and peel them sometimes. I'm not sure what her disease is. Do you have any idea what it could be? (Edit: I took her to the vet but they said it was just mange and gave me meds. But now that she's got the flaky dandruff-like thick skin, I don't think its just mange anymore. Please help 😭 Thanks!)

    • Hi tenshi ai, it's the diet causing the mange and possibly aggravated by veterinary drugs and vaccines... plus those latest meds for the mange! Treat the mange at home easily with neem oil. The mange has to be treated properly (not like the lazy vet said) Here's Mix the neem oil with coconut oil or virgin olive oil at 1 part neem to 4 parts cocconut/olive oil. So that would be for Oatmeal Pet Wash: amzn.to/3CYUBjw Straight away after treating your dog, you need to improve the kibble diet (the underlying cause of the mange). Do this and the mange will never return and your dog will look and feel great. Begin the Healthier Kibble Diet which involves buying my ebook, reading it and following the Healtheir Kibble Diet, Once the mange is easily treated, the diet Ask questions if you want clarification but this is exactly what I would do to solve the problem and get your dog back.

    • @@DanScott1 Thank you so much Dan! I really don't wanna go back to the vet anymore since I used up all my 2 months allowance because of all the meds they prescribed. I'm 16 and jobless 🥲 Is lamb and rice flavored kibble alright? Also, how many weeks do you think will it take before my puppy's skin improves? Thank you! I subscribed btw!

    • @@tenshiai1462 I have a video on 3 good kibbles that may help: kzhead.info/sun/e8imoruXfX2Ko2w/bejne.html Sorry about the vet drugs costs, shame. If you follow the notes I left in the previous comment then your puppy will fix up pretty quickly 30 - 60 days. At the very least, add probiotics to every meal: amzn.to/3bRmEGe some omega 3 oil in every meal 1 tsp, this is excellent: amzn.to/3vDdtjX and drop in some eggs & canned sardines. Plus do the skin protacol with the neem oil as discussed above.

  • I don’t want to download this stuff. Anyone know what diet to feed for yeast issues. I don’t think we should have to go through all theses steps to get information, I don’t trust those who ask us to do all theses steps just to get information.

    • To stop and reduce yeast, feed a fresh food diet, very low carbs, no vet drugs or vaccines and plenty of antioxidants. I won't leave links, might set you off.

  • What happens if the dog tastes the oregano mixture? I have to put it close to his mouth and worried he might taste it.

    @gmailuser9600@gmailuser96003 жыл бұрын
    • It tingles a bit and lasts around 10 minutes but it's not harmful when mixed... it's just acrid when neat. I swallow that same mixture from a teaspoon when I need an antibiotic.. always works and ok on my throat.

    • Dan Scott Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I found this video looking desperate for help with this dog itching out of his mind. Vets have prescribed antibiotics, prednisone, Cytopoint, Apoquel, Ultamino dry food for dogs with food allergies, allergy drops, antibacterial shampoo, and he doesn’t get better. It hurts to see him like this. I know it’s yeast because it stinks even when I give him a bath every morning and the ears smell bad too and have yellow discharge. So I bought the coloidal bar soap, the probiotics, and mixed the oregano with extra virgin olive oil. So, keeping my fingers crossed. I will watch your other videos. Thank you!

    • @@gmailuser9600 My pleasure. Thank goodness you did not get the vet drugs, just kicks the can down the road. Some great ideas in the free guide: healthydogforlife.com/guide They will also help your dog be healthier with less smell, itch, scratching and cleaner ears.

    • Sherry, lots to go into here as you can appreciate but Ican help you. Would you be prepared to do an email consultation? The one to one dog health consultation option is at the bottom of the page, 3rd option: healthydogforlife.com/real-food-for-dogs-book-and-video-program-by-dan-scott/ That way we can take the vet out of the equation and get your dog healthy again naturally. Does that help?

  • I understand that is dangerous to remove all grain from the diet of a dog who has an enlarged heart.

    @normanseagull4027@normanseagull40272 жыл бұрын
    • Not quite. The data everyone is refering to is about grain free diets causing this as the starches used are not nutritious enough compared to grains, causing health issues. Of course we can take this further to state that a grain filled diet is also not premium nutrition for a dog either as it leads to chronic inflamation and disease. Ultimately what a dogs needs is fresh food in the diet with a raw food diet the best diet for canines, especially a dog that is already health compromised.

  • I don’t know if you still monitor your comments, but my dog won’t stop licking her right paw. I have pure arroganoe oil I got from my friend for myself, he’s a health freak. It’s very strong tho, can I put a drop in her food? Will that help her internally? Or just do it like u said. She’s miserable, and I can’t afford to take her to the vet any more than I can afford to go to the doctor. So it’s either home remedies for us or nothing

    • You can fix this at home, just need the knowledge, that's my job. I left you some details in your other comment. Do you feed kibbles?

      @DanScott1@DanScott19 ай бұрын
    • @@DanScott1 I honestly haven’t had enough money to buy her kibble for a while now, I watch a lot of your videos, I just shared your videos with my friend Lisa today. I give her the bone broth you talked about, a half a cup( she’s about 50 pounds) I give her the 2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil a day. I ran out tho, and she hasn’t had any for about a month. But I just got her 2 jars yesterday. When she was on that stuff she was ok, but for about 3 weeks I had to feed her what I was eating, and that’s when this problem started. She basically eats chicken breast, I boil it, I give her frozen vegetables (broccoli, carrot , colifliwer mix) as her side. If not that, a cup of white rice or brown rice. And I put a bottle of water in all her food every meal to try to keep her from getting dehydrated. I thank you so much, you have no idea how much your channel has helped me. So much so, that as soon as I get my money together I’m gonna send you some. Your channel helped my dog that just passed last February to live to be 19 years old. I owe you sir, I definitely owe you. Thank you very much sir, I hope God really blesses you the way you have blessed me and my family. I’m going to read the message you left me in the other comment right now.

    • @@anthonymack2289 Thanks Anthony, that's very sweet of you but your dogs health and happiness is enough reward for me, really. 19 is fantastic. I know it's still so sad when thay leave but 19 means a good long life as it should be. I'd be careful with the rice, keep it minimal, say 10% of diet tops. Carbs lead to yeast, especially white rice, brown is better but still no more than 5-10% of meal. Protein is the best bet for dogs. I'd use eggs, raw, canned sardines in water skin and bone intact and mash those veggies before serving. And no shots, meds etc.
