I love my ridge wallet Chrispy Things I've had mine since July of last year can't be Happy enough with it my money clip finally broke last week sent an email got a new clip in 4 days. I have the CF model I have an obsession with CF haha.
Chris Musselman It broke off? Do you use it a lot? Meaning do you use cash more than cards? I’m just wondering if it has a tendency to break with over use.
@@ChrispyThings No it took a while to Break it was from me mishandling it on concrete I do a lot of heavy work haha sorry to worry you buddy
@@ChrispyThings I do stuff it full of bills and even when the one side broke (the side I was rough on) it still held all the bills I love this wallet it's a tank like i said took me plenty of drops and I mean drops higher than me 6 feet tall to actually give out and break my elastic is still really strong too use it a lot
Chris Musselman Good to know. Thanks for clarifying!
I've thought about these types of wallets but I'd like to keep my cash hidden. Hard to tell the wife I don't have any cash on my when it's clear as day

I agree. I travel, and my cash being flashed is just a robbery waiting to happen.
Pro-tip. Use those plastic credit card sleeves and put cash in it and slide that into your wallet.
@@apocalypse487 too many pieces. easier just to slam the cash into a wallet instead of fiddling with tiny envelopes.
My original leather wallet was just way too bulky, so I decided to try the Ridge Wallet. But it was kind of small. So I bought a second Ridge Wallet and welded it to the first, back to back. That was better, but I still needed more room. So I bought two more Ridge Wallets and welded them together and put them in my other rear pocket. The total volume of the four Ridge Wallets is actually greater than my original leather wallet, but I feel better about it somehow, like I'm moving forward into the future while the rest of you losers out there are stuck in the past. And it only cost me about $400 total, so I'm not carrying all that loose currency anymore.
Lol the ending was brilliant

I have used the carbon fibre one for over a year and it is the best wallet I have ever owned. It does have a small area of scratch that I think was caused by putting a key ring in the same pocket. The money clip is solid and tight, and will hold a single note or multiple without problem.
Tried it out for two weeks, liked it at first, but it became more difficult to manage my credit cards and cash. Was happy to go back to my leather wallet.

@@leonhart2 I haven't had any issues with the cards wearing. They fit so tight inside that they really don't have a chance to move around or grind up against each other.
@@outsider238 He's talking about when you're pulling it out all the time.
@@milaman06 You mean the cards? When you separate the two sides of the wallet to pull the cards out, they don't drag against each other because there's enough space between them. The elastic strap allows for the two sides to separate far enough apart without scraping the cards against each other.
Been using the Ti gunmetal clip version for years. I carry like 12 cards without any problem. No ware on the elastic yet. Best wallet I've ever bought by far.
Thanks so much. Thanks you you I'm getting one through your link.
Got one for Father's day. Overall I really like it. I also took diffrent color sharpies and colored the edges of my most used cards so I can identify them while inside the wallet! On top of always putting them in the same order it's makes for a quick reference if you just want to say double check that you replaced you card while leaving a restaurant.

I was curious about the money clip eventually tearing my pockets up, so I believe if I go with this, I will get the money strap one. Thank you for your video it was helpful.
At first it was hard to get cards in and out but once the elastic kind of breaks in it gets way easier to get cards in and out. I get cards out by fanning the cards out and the wallet itself, like I'm holding poker cards or something. Works great for me!
Yes exactly! I got used to it very quickly.
I've had the Ridge Wallet on my list of "things I want to buy" for quite some time. I just might pull the trigger now. Great video. New sub.

Had my Ridge wallet since 2016 and it still looks brand new and no issue with the bands on the side.....Its great for taking on my motorcycle and snowmobile as it doesn't take up too much room. I highly recommend it! Great vid!
Thanks!
Can i ask how many credit cards you usually catry in the wallet, i carry about 9 and worry that the elastic bands wont last long because it seems like a far stretch over long period of time would ware them out quickly. Still looks slick and streqmlined though wich i love.
Lau Reyes I have about 12 cards in the wallet and never had an issue with the bands! They hold up and could probably hold another bunch of cards! Love the Ridge wallet
I just got this and I love it. I was able to easily put 12 cards in mine with no problem.
had mine for around a year now. The elastic is still in great shape and i bought the strap version which is useful for holding extra cards as well as cash although a little more clunky than a clip. I think the strip is mean for people that don't carry cash all that much though. I do have some wear that i wasn't expecting, and that was the scales that are screwed to each side of the wallet aperatus. i bought the plastic white version and they are starting to cave in over the channels where the elastic runs through. Not a big deal now but I can see it cracking eventually and maybe causing the elastic to snag and wear prematurely. Was going to reach out to ridge to get replacement scales. not sure if i have to buy them or if they will just replace them as they say they have a lifetime warranty. I guess I will see.
This review was really good. You earned the sub!
Thanks!

5:30 deal-breaker, obviously. My leather wallet has eight slots for my 8 cards and it is super easy to locate and remove the one card I need (without having the other 7 all spill to the ground, with a dozen people in line behind me at the counter). My other 8 cards are on my phone. One day, all 16 of my cards (D/L, etc.) will all be on my phone (like everything else is), and I'll drop my wallet (of any kind) at that time. Folding leather wallet remains the choice until then.
I’ve been interested in getting one for my husband. This video definitely helped me decide to purchase
Definitely was and is an informative video. Have you tested the competition. I notice there are several on Amazon. Again thankyou!!!
Shoot. I have a zipper try fold wallet for over 3 years and still looks good for under $20. Best way to avoid having your cards falling out. Pockets do get loose over time.
The beginning of the video: this wallet isnt good because it only holds 5 cards Later in the video: I only carry about 5 cards

Yeah but how often do you use multiple cards. Most people have a bank card, credit card, and some rewards member cards
@@RonaldRaiden I live in the Netherlands and you get a ticked if you dont have your ID on you, if you drive a car you need ID + drivers license (and you cant use your drivers license as a ID). You also need your registration certificate pass for your car, thats already 3 cards if you drive and plus a bankpass or credit card. So I think most people here carry at least 3 cards at all times.
@@raybla its a little different in us...drivers license is ID, and most people keep their registration in the glove box in case they need to prove it so the only card you need is license and money if you need to spend

I just got my Ridge Wallet today and was surprised at how small it is. As you said it’s basically just the size of a credit card. I’m still trying to get used to it as it’s only day 1 but I think I’ve found my wallet I’ll stick with for years and years. This is actually the 3rd wallet I’ve bought in the last 3 months. I got a small leather wallet but didn’t enjoy it much. Then I got the Alpha Wallet but I had same issues you did. Dude, your editting is on point
4:53 The reason you might want to go with the elastic strap version (holding money) is because you wont experience discomfort caused by that metal ridge. If you face that metalic money clip towards your legs - you might feel discomfort in your thighs or butt. If you face that metallic clip out (away from your skin) you jeans will eventually have a worn spot. Hope it makes sense! Go with the elastic version.
Oh damn, good point! I also read that the elastic strap can hold more cash, so that's also a reason to go for it.
I got the metallic clip and never had a problem with it facing towards my legs --- I slide it to the side of my pocket BUT from experience with leather wallets, I am sure it would wear badly against pants if facing outwards. Probably will do the same inwards as well --- just won't be able to see the damage as easily.
Have you had any issues with the elastic wearing out?
a worn spot? exactly how tight are your pants?
I’ve heard of the screws backing out so I’m gonna throw some blue Loctite on them. I love it so far.

I’ve had my carbon fiber with cash strap for two years, and I also hit my cards on the elastic when putting it in the wallet. No signs of fraying so far.
Darren Gray good to hear!
Darren Gray how is the carbon fiber holding up after all this time? Any scratches, dings, or marks on it?
Not to mention they have a lifetime warranty. people in the comments are clueless haha
I think I have owned mine for two years now. The only down side I have noticed is that it scuffs up my cards. Since the cards are side by side the constant rubbing has now left noticeable wear on my cards. Nothing has ever broken on my wallet, I have lost a few screws but that is about it.
Thank you for the detailed information I will definitely be getting one. LOL no more “ leaning on it”!

I have had a Ridge Wallet for about 3 years now and the elastic bands have not frayed or stretched out at all. Still works as good as it did when I first took it out of the box. It is a little dinged up from drops but I love it. I have the elastic strap on the back rather than the money clip.
P Riddle my girlfriend just surprised me with this wallet with the cash strap. I haven’t gotten it in the mail yet, but I was curious about the strap. I usually carry 10-15 bills with me. Any foreseeable issues? Thanks!
@@brettpalmer2601 Hi. Curious to know, as I'm looking at one for my husband who likes to carry cash more than the few cards he has to carry..."Cash is King". I’m getting mine tomorrow! I can’t wait!!!
I have been looking at wallets like these for quite a while but I never pulled the trigger. I came across a discount a couple of weeks ago and decided to order the carbon fiber version with the strap. As far as the way it looks, I think it looks excellent for what it is. Of course a high quality leather wallet looks great too but for what this is, I’d say it’s the best looking wallet of its kind; at least from what I’ve seen. As far as build quality goes, I see no problems there either. The materials look and feel great and the overall fit and finish is outstanding. My one complaint with this wallet (keep in mind, I’m also very new to this style of wallet) is the same complaint mentioned in the video. The actual functionality/operation is a bit clunky - at least in the beginning. After messing around with it for a little while at my desk, putting cards in, pulling some out, switching them around, etc, I did gradually get a better feel for it and I can definitely access my cards much more smoothly now than I could when I first got it. I’m assuming it’ll only get easier so perhaps this is an issue that’ll resolve itself with time. I don’t really think it’s the designer’s fault. The idea is very simple and it was executed very well. Perhaps some people would prefer a spring loaded button mechanism or some kind of hinge but then it would just be a different kind of wallet entirely - also, it definitely wouldn’t be as small or as thin as this design. I can’t really see how they could have executed this design in a better way. It seems well thought out. Also, it’s not as though I get to a check-out counter and have to fumble around with it and try to pry my cards out. It really is a lot simpler with a little bit of practice. Also, it just serves as a good reason to carry fewer cards on your person. The more cards you carry, the harder it’ll be to access them. My old wallet (a fairly basic card holder, held about 8 cards and had a slot for cash, not a bifold or trifold) has now been relegated to the job of holding all of the cards that are seldom used, if at all. Basically just rarely used credit cards and gift cards. That wallet now stays either at home or in the car. All I carry in the Ridge wallet are my debit card, one personal credit card, my company credit card and my drivers license. I think 3 or 4 cards is the ideal situation for a wallet like this. It’s a little pricey (I’m a sucker for well-executed carbon fiber) but if you think this type of solution might work well for you, I’d highly recommend it. I’m not sure that I’d buy it again if I were someone who had to keep 7 or 8 cards on me at all times but if you only need to carry 3-5 cards, I would strongly suggest giving one of these a try. 4.8 / 5.0

I'm looking at this wallet, and I too am a sucker for Carbon Fiber, and for me, the key cards I'd have are: 1) Driver's License 2) Debit Card 3) Main Credit Card 4) Backup Credit Card 5) Health Insurance Card But rarely would I ever have to break any of these out unless: a) driver's license (don't drive so no need to worry about being pulled over by cops) b) I'm going to the ATM to get cash (always good to have some cash) thus needing the debit card c) the merchant does not accept any mobile phone payments, only uses the credit card itself. I've run into a few merchants where they have outdated machines d) you're going to the E/R, else your primary doctors will already have your insurance on file The other potential cards I would have to carry are your employer's badge ID and access cards. Some use the badge ID as access, others have a separate one for the building, the other for the floor. So that now brings me to 7. Those I would need to breakout every day. So I am tempted to buy it but we'll see. Just thought I'd add to your great post Kyle.
Have had my Ridge since December 2016, original Aluminum Black. Elastic is still in great shape and I have the elastic money strap which also is in great shape. Absolutely love my Ridge. Wife asked if I wanted a new one as mine does show a lot of "wear" but no way!!! I carry 8 cards and $100 in 20's everyday...looked at the Trayvax Contour too but prefer the Ridge footprint and simplicity.
Just got mine for Xmas Thanks for the video! I was A little disappointed at first with trying to remove the middle cards I have 8 cards in it right now But your video pointed me in the right direction If you push them out and then squeeze the bottom it works great! I have the strap and I love it . I was worried the clip would loosen up Glad to see it’s as well made as the rest of the wallet
Love this wallet - my go-to for everyday use. Can barely feel it in my pocket. Thanks for the review! I probably wouldn't have found this little gem without your sage adivce.
Clive G Thanks for watching!
A great solution for people who rarely use cash and only carry a limited number of cards (say 4). I find myself using this Ridge whenever I need a compact solution (loading up whichever cards I know I'll need). Too many cards and it can be a fiddle to locate the one you need. It is back to the traditional bill fold at other times, especially if I am using cash as I am not comfortable keeping cash on the outside of the Ridge with the clip. The cash is too visible when you pull the Ridge out and screams 'rob me'.
"It's not gonna do it now because I'm on video" feel you
Have the Carbon Fiber with the strap for the past three years and love it the elastic has held up fantastically both the inside elastic and the cash strap. I carry about 8 cards and 5 to 8 bills I changed the cash strap only because my original strap did not have the metal piece on it not because of wear. The only issue I have had is the elastic is they get little beedy balls of lint on them. Card manipulation is a little awkward at first but now I can work it with one hand no problem. I work in the field repairing industrial equipment and it looks like new my son ran his over and cracked the plastic but still worked and that was the cheaper version
Thank you! This has made me consider it much more!
I've had mine for over three years, and the elastic surprisingly is holding up just fine. You can easily fit 15+ cards in this wallet if you want, I used to for a while. However it is more comfortable to limit the amount to 10 or under.
Hey, how's it holding up for you (if you still have it)
How many cards already got destroyed with it?

This is an excellent review. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. This wallet is not for me. You have to be careful how to insert the credit cards, as opposed to just jamming the card into its pocket as I do now. Also, every time you want to make a cash purchase, you have to pull out all the bills and show everyone around you how much money you're carrying. It might make sense to use this wallet when on vacation and you use only one credit card (although the cash money is still an issue).
I think I’ll buy one. You answered a lot of questions and concerns that I had. The negatives are not show stoppers. The minimal size and RFID is worth it.
Glad I watched your review. I almost purchased one. My family still gets the newspaper delivered so In have an absolute f-ton of rubber bands I use them for my wallet.

I love my ridge wallet. Mine is the carbon fiber version. I agree with 8 cards max. I do a little trick where I turn my debit card vertical so that the tapping feature of the card is still usable. I receive comments all the time about how small my wallet is. I use the money clip for parking slips, or gift cards and will be used within 15 days. I leave most loyalty cards at home since most have phone apps now and most retailers are able to scan from the phone. Thanks to the ridge wallet, I no longer have the wallet bulge imprint on my jeans.

great video just got mine today
My wife bought me a lovely wallet. As time passed it was clear it was too bulky. I believe i have the ideal man bag now which is ideal for a trip to london, but it was clear my wallet was too bulky for it. What is becoming clear is, i only really need my wallet to carry cards and keep receipts in (for expenses). But i also have a kind of a box solution with a concertina inside with mini slots for cards. That idea might be better. But like the video Author i have gone through various bags and wallets trying to find the best solution to carry my cash and other possessions to a) allow me to leave my coat behind on a hot day b) eliminate the danger of leaving it behind in a shop c) reduce the risk of pick pocketing which is an issue in London). So i use a waste bag for the gym and a chest bag for london. One thing for sure is, no single solution seems to be ideal.
