L.L. said he was the first to use that phrase and he wish he would have got the copyright on it. Ali used to say it about himself, but...,

Im old enough to say that I was there at the time when both of these artist (LL and RUN DMC) came out with their debut albums. Crazy think about it but I was so blown away then as I am right now watching this. Legendary!
“😂I guess it’s safe to say that we’re both to be in the presence of Greatness.!!”

Omgoodness, there was a different smell in the air with these Queens rappers! I was raised on Liberty Ave in South Side Jamaica Queens, there for the beginning and now this!!! Oh wow, back then when you go to the Ave you would run into any of them, humble And making hip hop history! Colosseum stayed full of these folks, real treats coming through for the jewelry and coats😇🙌🙏☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰! Really Hip Hop for me all day, loving this!!!

Those were the days to remember, hands down the best time in music , there will never be a time like this again , it’s nostalgic and legendary .
Best decades. I wish I was back there. Life was easier.
Lyrical Titans sharing the stage 👑👑👑 🎤 ❤
Being 61 y/o, this takes me back to block parties in 70's and 80's in BROOKLYN(Do or Die) when RAP/Hip Hop was in its infancy.
I was a huge DMC fan had toom filled with his posters the group was just fierce with hits after hits LL Mr head sprung cant live without my radio i tell ya growing up with some of the greatest rappers in the 80s was epic great job Gentlemen im going to sleep with a huge smile on my face😊
I don’t think cats really understand how crazy it is that LL is 55 years old and still remembers ALL of his rhymes from ALL of his songs! He ain’t just doing his hits but also his album cuts! Nitro and It Gets No Rougher! That’s insane 😮True LL fans know what time it is! I wish LL would have incorporated Murdergram too! 😆 🔥
Indeed plus he's busting Its Tricky!!! Most passionate motherf@#&ker of All Time!!! And ill add RUN DMC and LL put rap on the mainstream MAP!!!
@@billbeck1575 💯💯
How is that impressive? 55 is not 80.
Shit I'm 52 and I remember all L's lyrics WORD IS BOND‼️💯
Hugh?🤔 Why wouldn't he remember them...HE WROTE THEM! and performed them THOUSANDS OF TIMES! 🙄🤨

That was iconic. I don't think people understand how hard the "Here We Go" routine rang out in the streets back in 1982. Peace to Run DMC and LL Cool J.
This was so cool ❤️ Run DMC is my favorite rap group of all time. LL did his thing. He has a great show.
Modern Rap hip hop was Done by RUN DMC the Fat Boys and LL cool j
Now this is The kind of Hip Hop I grew up with not that trash that’s out these days these labels will give anyone a record deal these days I thought the music industry was a business today it seem like a ghetto industry lead by people without morals and standards

Good list but don't forget Kool mo Dee has bars
Big Daddy Kane
Cube hell no
Brings tears to my eyes ABSOLUTELY HIP HOP
What got me was the last verse on “It’s Tricky”. That was DMC’s son.
Undisputed GOAT. A lot of people might not know that he wrote a lot of songs for Run-DMC back in the day. Check the credits on the back of some of their old albums and you'll see James Todd Smith on quite a few of their songs.
You just educated me, didn't know that man!
@@peterreid4435 You're not alone. A lot of people didn't know that. I wouldn't have known it myself if I hadn't checked the album credits when I was a kid.
@@BigDave2000 yes, I used to read the jackets of these now what I call TREASURE
HE WROTE 1 SONG, CAN YOU ROCK IT LIKETHIS
Not true LL wrote one song run and DMC wrote their own rhymes don't tarnish their reputation with lies
THE G O.A.T GO LL COOL J❤OLD SCHOOL RAP IS THE BEST❤❤❤❤😊
❤this why its been around for 50 years real hip-hop
Wow!! Let's get it ! Rocking Out. ❤❤😊😊
I hate to be that old guy, but I SAW THESE DUDES BACK IN 1987! Def Jam Tour! and the Beasties/Run DMC "Together Forever" tour! Grateful I saw so much live hip-hop in the golden era of the genre (1986-1992)
Im so glad to see DMC rocking on stage again. In 2001 he could barely speak because of spasmic dysphonia. He got blessed.
WHOA! I did not know he had spastic dysphonia! Thank you for info! You're right...what a blessing to him do his thing like nobody else!
I always forget about L until I hear him go, then I realize definitely top ten all time. KRS-One, Rakim, Chuck D, Wise Intelligent, Ice Cube, Cold 187, Andre 3000, LL, Scarface, Black Thought, Mos Def, Marshall Matters and Big Boi. A lot of honorable mentions. These are the lyricist that hit me coming up .
No Kool G Rap? 😮
Somewhere within your list I would need to insert Mellie Mel
Nice list. Much respect for Cold 187 and Wise Intelligent
Tight I missed this legendary tour. Real dope to see LL perform Ill Bomb live, with a band. Love seeing live rap performances. Keep ‘em coming. Subscribed 🔥
How is it that all the best rappers are over 50! I LOVE THAT! HIP HOP NEVER DIES!
Yes sir! Some of the best days of my life. R.I.P. Hop,Jesse,& SelRock✊🏾❤️
In total Shock How good of Shape “D” is in😳…He’s close to 70! Black Don’t Crack🔥
@@ZphiBQT He’s older than that. And the fact that black don’t crack is the true compliment here.
The absolute 🐐 of rap I been rocking these legends since I went to a concert In Milwaukee back In I believe It was fresh fest In 84. I also remember Run Dmc and Jam Master J had a concert In Milwaukee and they were drinking 40’s on stage and performing and rocked the show definitely miss the good old days of rap not like now

I'm 59 coming outta NYC. I'm blessed to experience evolution of Hip Hop beyond the golden era. Went to many Battle Jams and school park Jams, Flyers and Cassettes. Know mad artists and DJs. Migrated to The South Bronx, moved to East New York and Flatbush. Hanging out at Hillside & 168th Street...Big Up to THOMAS EDISON (79-83) and my whole HS era years....CAN never be replaceable!!!!!!!!!!
Damn LL Cool J /GOAT Is The Truth Point Blank

King LL 👑💯💯💯💯
Old School is the New School...take it back!
💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 I 💚 it!!! I'm glad we're still able to hear Run DMC hits. They made it happen. 🙌🏾
With DMC's love of hard rock, how did we never see a side project between he and AC⚡DC called AC⚡DMC!?!?!?

This tour was everything ❤
I appreciate this more each time I see this! These are legends in Hip Hop and we might not ever see them on tour again. Cherish these icons!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 !!!!
DMC is the epitome of what a true MC: charismatic, stage presence and dope lyrics.
I remember being on a cheese bus to NY from camp arguing over the lyrics to Tricky, 1987 ❤
Amazing show. Highlight for me was Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh
STRAIGHT UP LEGEND, MOGUL, "ICON" NO QUESTION!!😮
LL wrote some of RUN-DMC MATERIAL
Flame's LL is An amazing man love This🙏
Dope show. The Legendary LL
Chills!!’ Golden age of Hip Hop….u had to be there!
Who rapped Going Back to Cali like we did in the 80s? The Tuba man was everywhere, gotta love his enthusiasm! Great to see DMC! My childhood hero’s!
I'm from the West coast and it still thrills me to see DMC the king!!!!
Very True! 60 Years Old Still Love It
It's gonna take a sledge hammer to knock the smile off my face. That was amazing. I grew up in a crappy town in Wyoming (I was born in '75.) This kid Randy moved to our neighborhood. He was from Queens, and had to come live with his cop aunt in Cheyenne. Think Fresh Prince, but in a trailer park, and he was a super flashy italian kid, who people just called homophobic slurs. I was a giant with a bad temper, and as the only Jewish kid in school, got ripped on for that, and the 3rd member of our little trio was Curt, who was literally the only black kid in the entire school. …but we had a thing that no one else had. Starting in summer of '84, Randy's had this cousin that would dub brand new hip hop singles and send to him. So these three outcasts got together every saturday, and listened to the newest hip hop on this crappy little portable tape player, while playing Atari, eating terrible frozen pizza, and drinking Shasta sodapop. This really takes me back almost 40 years. I can still feel the weird scratchy sofa, the ancient nicked up coffee table, the shafts of light slicing through the blinds. That crappy little tape player next to the beat-to-hell Atari 2600. The TV that you had to move the antennas when you changed to the other 3 channels. …and Me, Randy and Curt being blown away by Run-DMC, LL, EPMD, Treacherous Three, Whodini, Big Daddy Kane. All the greats. Eventually we were able to mail order tapes, and we upgraded from Atari to Sega Genesis. Randy moved back to Queens and Curt's dad got a job in Texas somewhere, but for a few years, every weekend was for hip hop, video games, and really cheap frozen pizza.
I'm from the west coast and I couldn't stop listening to LL back when Radio came out. One of my favorite albums of all time
This was a dope ass show. Latifah absolutely killed it bringing out Monie Love and Treach.
Saw him at the Summit in Houston, Tx at the Def Jam tour 1987. I was a year out of high school. One of the best concerts Iv'e ever gone to.
Dope 😎✌️💯
Old-School will never die! Much love and recognition to those born 1969 to 1980. We will forever be the last of the real Hip-Hop children that kids today can only dream of! The last of the Mohicans...Gen X baby!
I was there. It was great.
I saw the Beasties Boys and LL Cool J open for RUN-DMC at a concert in Brooklyn in 1985, then in 1998 I was DJing live on the air for a radio station at Port Jazz in Port Jefferson NY and the person who came to relieve me in the booth was DJ Hurricane, I was star struck because he was part of the original Hollis Crew, and I had seen him with the Beastie Boys at 2 concerts.
OMG - This is the BEST thing I have seen online in a a long while. This reminds me of my first year at UT Knoxville, then thr following years teaching in the BEST URBAN BEAT Ville’ Mechanicsville, TNthe streets were jumpin’ with these still SIC BEATS and LYRIC. I was waiting for Will Smith to bump in and run a beat with the M-A-S-T-E-R-s of OLD SKOOL Hip Hop ! I may just put this on rerun and play it all day. It is like ☀️ for my weary winter, sick of snow and ice, soul. So happy I came upon this today. If I might add the maturity of these genius artist make it sound even better, I see #SlickRick and the #SnoopDog Doggie Dog ‘s names rolling amongst hundreds of others rolling behind the stage. WOW Are you coming within 250 Miles of Knoxville we are no Metropolis like Philly or my fave, NYC but, you drive out University or College Lane by the old Knox College and down thru the Ville’ off I40 East & 17th. . . This is the music you still hear, especially, on a warm summer night. 🫡 Much Respect Gentlemen🫡 ❤️🤍💙
Got the hip hop pioneers up in here!!
The Roots and Uncle L just killing it gets no better. Legends all around.
Absolutely amazing performance. Still killing them softly! 🔥🔥🔥
Let's get it...If you want to know what we were doing in the park then in some clubs here in NYC, then watch when DMC came in. It was just like that,DJ drops that funky beat, MCs get on the MIc,and we would do this for HOURS. NO paper, no gimmicks, just records and rhymes, There are still some cassettes out there recorded back then, and this was BEFORE sampling,so DJs had to mix, cut, and scratch by hand. Much love to these pioneers, because DMC brought HipHop to the world on the commercial level,, and LL, well his body of work speaks for itself 50 YEARS later. Shout out to HTown,(yes I have been there), from the Boogie Down Bronx..
Klassic, to still witness these Kings in Action is a blessing!
How did I even forget about this legend. Used to be in that mix tape. Now he’s coming back on the playlist.
This that 80's shit. Real Hip Hop
Salute blessings, very dope!
Now that’s hip hop ,
