This is my favorite headdress. Easy to sew and fits perfectly on the head

Who hasn't had a headdress like a Panama hat? Most often it is worn at sea, in the garden or in the country. But lately you can find panama hats for the cold season made of thick fabrics - jeans, drape and even fur.
Sewing a Panama hat will not be difficult even for novice craftswomen. You can take a shirt or other things as the starting material.
For hot weather, it is better to take cotton fabric: chintz, calico, stitching. Depending on the color of the fabric, a Panama hat is suitable for both women and men. The style is universal.
The pattern that I want to offer is suitable for sizes 56, 57, 58. The style is very good, sits well on the head, does not slip and is very comfortable.
Master Class:
1) First, I cut out three parts from paper. A circle with a diameter of 17 cm and two rectangles 27x10 cm and 6.5x15 cm.
2) Bend a 27x10 cm rectangle in half, then bend each half in half again. We got 4 identical parts. I cut them along the folds, not reaching the edge 2 mm.
3) I attached this detail to another sheet. I moved the cut parts apart so that there was 1 cm between them. The resulting part is the height of the Panama hat (crown). If desired, instead of 10 you can make a larger value.
4) A rectangle of 6.5x15 cm is the brim of a Panama hat. You can also make more of them.
5) This part is folded. Just as in the first case, the rectangle was bent into 4 parts and cut.
6) Where the fold is, I applied it to a straight line and from it I moved all the parts apart by 1 cm, at the end I extended the part by 1.5 cm.
The Panama hat will be double-sided. I cut out all the details from two fabrics. I smoothed interlining onto the inside for rigidity. The details of the Panama hat were cut with seam allowances.
How to sew:
- I stitched the crown and the margins on the sides. I connected all three parts together.
- It turned out to be two parts of the hat.
- I connected them right sides together and stitched them, leaving room for turning them inside out.
Ready.
I turned the Panama hat inside out, stitched the seam, and put a finishing stitch along the edge.
The hat can be worn on both sides.
