  • Thanks again for your video. It seems to me that if the ecosystem is growing that much, the key to success - and higher salaries - will be to specialize is one area. In my current company, they are using heavily both CMDB and CSM. To what I can see, CMDB is a much more "core" component of SN. Would you recommend spending the next few months focussing on the CMDB or on CSM, for better possible future opportunities?

    • Hi. If you're working for ServiceNow customers, then it would be wise to deep dive on the products they have purchased as that will help secure your place and give you the satisfaction of being able to help, etc. So using the example of CMDB and CSM, yes, CMDB is core and everyone should know that foundationally. CSM would be where you could step out and learn something outside that "core" ITSM/CMDB offering. This would help you with future opportunities as really everyone knows (or should know) ITSM/CMDB. So the more you learn about the platform will only benefit you more in the long run regarding a ServiceNow career, but you want to take that one step at a time and not try to go too wide too fast.

    • Hi! ServiceNow is a great platform to learn for someone new to IT. I would recommend visiting ServiceNow’s learning management portal: Now Learning (where all the training classes are - I have a link in the description) and sign up for an account if you don’t already have one (it’s free). Then, take the course “Welcome to ServiceNow”. That’s an introduction to ServiceNow and see what you think.
