Khabib is a big fan of Romero because he wrestled Saitiev in Olympic finals. Saitiev brothers were Khabib's idols growing up. Huge respect there.

His brother, Busaivar Saitiev is the real GOAT of wrestling. The dude was technical AF. You can really see where Khabib and his father got all their moves.

I've heard people who fought & sparred with Khabib say that he is deceptively fast and hard to hit. His standup is good, but his ground game is otherworldly.
One thing consistently misunderstood is Khabib has an iron chin. Literally his standup game becomes more effective simply because of that and the consistent threat of the takedown. That changes the entire fight psychology.
It's nice to see respect where respect is due. Especially in a sport where ego is almost a prerequisite to being successful
