Skukuza Rest Camp: Game viewing and Routes | Kruger National Park
What animals can you expect to see and which routes should you take when staying in Skukuza Rest Camp?
Skukuza Rest Camp in Kruger National Park is situated in one the best areas for game viewing and you have many different roads to choose from. Not many areas in Kruger National Park can boast with regular sightings of the big 5, cheetah, wild dog as well as sable antelope.
It is Impossible to provide accurate information as the animals move around, territories change and conditions in the bush are always changing, but it gives you an idea where the animals are seen the most (and sightings would not be as exciting and rewarding if it was that predictable in anyway)

Where have you seen some of the rare animals around Skukuza(no rhino locations please)?
Leopard between Skukuza and Nkhulu
Awesome! One the best roads in Kruger for leopard.
Oh totally that darn tar road is leopard central. Especially early morning. Last year August they just kept popping up as we travelled from Skukuza to Lower sabi. Saw 4 leopards in 1 morning.
@damiancosta2588 lucky you!! I usually struggle to see 4 leopards in a 7 day trip!!
@leonbadenhorst it is a world record for me. We Normally only see 1 leopard in a whole trip.
Beautiful video,thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you very much! It's my pleasure
Gonna try the biyamiti rd. And that sand road along sabi river and the sand rd linking h4-1 to Malelane main rd. Havent been down those before. Only 7 months to wait for the trip to Kruger. Yeesh!
Lucky you! You have been missing out, they are great roads to drive! Biyamiti rd is very scenic and a favourite of mine. I didn't do the road for many years, I have always just skipped the road. I am so mad at myself for doing it, haha. Now, when I'm in the area, I go straight to the Biyamiti road as quick as I can and then drive the Biyamiti road very slow. The sand rd linking h4-1 to Malelane main rd is also great. I have seen lion, leopard and a black mamba at the prominent hill called Siyalu Hill. All the waterholes along this route are great for predators
@@leonbadenhorstnow I really can't wait for August!
