You are a fount of all knowledge. I wonder why the dealers don't tell us all this information when we buy a car??
Thank you Queenie! 🤓 There’s a lot to go through on cars, if a request was made to go through everything it could easily take an hour or two. 😅 Most large Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the UK have Star Experts who can assist with product info and how things work on cars just in case you get stuck! 🤓
They do... 1-2 hours of hands on when buying a new Mercedes AMG... Always...
My dealership offers a personal assistant to walk you through everything if you want.
1. Many dealers doesn’t know all features 2. They tell you while taking delivery of the car ( I have this experience ) but not as detailed as how Nick explains . I always go through Nicks playlist to solve my doubt if I don’t get any answer then I ask for help to Nick and bingo .. Nick always answers . Amazing !!! Great work Nick .
Thank you! 🙏
Literally answering all of my questions in mere minutes. Things i would usually spend hours to search for on the internet. Thanks for the video and the detailed explanation.
Ah awesome! Thank you! 🤓🙏
Hi Nick, I can't believe I've just found your channel especially when it was YOU who showed me around my S class a couple of years ago. Thanks mate.
Aha there we go! 🤓 To be fair my channel didn’t exist then 😅 But glad you’re enjoying the content! I’ll keep it all coming!
Thank you Nick for taking the time to advise me about my query. We will give it a go on the drive at home and if necessary go to the local dealership. I'll still continue to watch your tips and tricks though as they have also been very useful. Best wishes.
Lovely and educative. For me I never knew what the function of the charge was on E220d but now I understand it better. Nice job Nick
Ah awesome thank you glad you liked it!
Nick you are rather good at this. I’ve just got a new GLE and watching your videos has made it so much easier to get the best out of the car. Thank you for posting the videos.
Thanks Daryl! 🤓🤓🤓 Glad you like the videos!
As always, very helpful and informative! Keep up the great job!
Thank you! 🤓
Thanks for these amazing videos. Really clear and professional. I just ordered my first Mercedes (GLA 250e) and have binge watched all your videos. I feel I know the car better from your work than from my test drive! Am even more impatient to get it now (not delivered until September 😔) but am sure after finding your channel that I made the right choice to go with Mercedes. Keep up the good work to make my wait bearable!
Awww thanks Dan 87! Yeah I’ll try and keep them coming! Oh awesome well that’s cool if it’s more informative than a test drive! Ah it won’t be long to wait! Hopefully time will fly by!

Great work Nick, I hope your employers appreciate the good work that you’re doing!
I hope as well! But probably not in Mercedes... 😏 Ps. Nick too power your income maybe you should put all this videos on TikTok as well...😉
Haha thanks Dorset Dumpling and P B 🙏 I have thought about other social networks, might do something in the future, but haven’t decided fully yet. Glad you like all of the videos though! 😊
Great tutorials Nick, I really am intrigued by your videos. If it were down to just learning from the handbook I suspect most owners would never use or even know of the many great features. The sales teams dont have time to show us all of these tips and tricks. Very Good work Nick, Thank's a lot.
Thank you Keith! Glad you enjoy all of the videos! 🤓
Tks for your advice
Brilliant as always Nick! Looking forward to you getting your hands on the EQB!!!
Oh yeah me too! 🤓
Legend, thank you so much! Your channel and videos are not only entertainment but an asset as well.
Thank you Alex! Glad you’re enjoying them! 🤓👍🏼🤓
Excellent video. You have answered 4 questions which really helped. Thank you.
Thank you for answering our real concerns, you're doing a great job.
Thank you 😊
Fantastic information and detail in all of your videos Nick. Newly changing over from an Audi S3 to the A35 AMG (hopefully tomorrow) so these videos have been keeping my mind away from the long (not that long) wait :) Thanks mate.
Ah awesome! Ooo an A35! I’d love one of those!
Thank you from Portugal! Great content! You're the best!
Thank you! 🙏🙏
Thanks Nick, each of those FAQs were so interesting to learn about, the first few were questions I always have about my Mercedes ....so thank you very much for answering those questions..
Aha thanks snuggles03! Glad you enjoyed them! 🤓
Another great and informative video Nick - thanks for your excellent work!! - Peter
Thanks Peter! 🤓
Thanks Nick, always great content. Cheers
Thanks Lyndon 20! Glad you like them 🤓
Great stuff. Thanks Nick.
Perfect work Nick. You helped me a lot, when I started my "adventure" with first GLC Coupe December 2020.
Ah awesome thanks Robert!
Loving the content Nick. Found you by accident whilst researching about my new a class I purchased from Sandown in Dorchester. Your videos have been a great help! Especially coming from a Mk7 Golf. Thank you 😊
Thanks Alastair! Glad you’re enjoying the videos! 🤓👍🏼
@@npoleary have you done a video on driving modes? Reason I’m asking is every time I set mine to individual it changes the next time I get in the car back to comfort
Hey Alastair, I sure have! 🤓 Petrol and Diesel is this one: kzhead.info/sun/i8iSeMmZm3qOf3k/bejne.html Although I have also produced the same video for Plug-in Hybrids & All-Electric models too
Hi Nick - thanks for a really useful video. I had noticed the red SOS light coming on in my car occasionally so great that you’ve covered it here - nice 1 👍👌
Aha awesome! 🤓
The learning curve has been greatly reduced to figure out all the capabilities and tricks of my AMG 53 Coupe. Thank you so much for creating such informative and useful content.
Thank you Alicia! 🤓

Hey buddy, the best channel for Merc nerds .... Most of the stuff was in this video was really cool to recall 😃 I knew it but somehow didn't think much of it. Your channel is too informative to the people like me who's got into MB recently .... All the best bud. Love from Germany 🇩🇪
Thanks Sonar! 😊
Thanks Nick , I always wondered about that sos not ready ? And now i know 😎

These Mercedes videos are so helpful! thanks Nick
Thank you! I’ll keep them coming!
Thanks so much Nick. Another great and informative video mate 😀
Thanks Daz! 🤓
Informative. 🙂 Truly a Mercedes-Benz academy. 👌
Haha 😅 Thanks Lightning Farron! 👊🏼
That was really good, useful and to the point Nick. I picked up my CLA Shooting Brake two weeks ago now. It’s in Patagonia Red (metallic) and I was really relieved that the red/black leather seats really complimented it rather than overpowered it. The reason is the dark glass all round does not let you see the seats till you’re inside and sitting obviously hides a lot of the red anyway. I really recommend the choice. I learnt from five out of ten of your video points today so that is super brilliant. Nick, nobody does it better so please hang around.🇬🇧🇲🇹👍
Thank you Joseph! 😇😇 Ooo nice, I’d still love a CLA, they look so smart! Ah nice, I’ll be honest haven’t actually seen the red interior either but coupled with Patagonia Red I bet it’s a match made in heaven!
@@npoleary It really is. 👍

Thank you! 🙏
Thank you Nick, I had a 10 o’clock appointment with my dealer today to ‘fix’ that annoying rear seatbelt warning sign on my GLE , but now I can cancel it. Mercedes need to remove it or handle it more elegantly as most folks think it’s a seat belt malfunction .Thanks again, great job.
Ah awesome! Glad you managed to get to the bottom of it! 🤓 It’s why I made the video, that question does come up quite a bit 😎
Concise and educative. The passenger airbag gave me concern but all is well listening to your video thank you so much.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🤓
Great vid. Thank you. Regards from my MB here in CPT 💯
Hey Carel Le Roux Botha thank you! 🤓

Thanks Jarek! Glad you enjoy them! 🤓
Of course I enjoyed.. it's completely new world for me .
One of the most informative channels on Mercedes’ by far in KZhead
Thank you Jack! 👍🏼🤓
Genuinely respect your safety oriented advice. I'm in Miami, a tourist destination. I've been in two serious accidents, both times my car was hit and spun out into the street (oncoming traffic) by people on their phone not paying attention. I'm only in my 20s but my back is wrecked from those incidents happening less than a year apart + military service. People come down here and think it's the time for them to drink and drive, party and drive, etc without regard for the people who live here. Thank God my nephew or niece weren't in the car with me.
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying the content! I’ll keep the videos coming! Hmmm no that’s not good, hope that it get’s better for you. People do need to be careful!
Yes, another great set of information, Nick. Thank you very much. I get around the rear seat-belts warning, as there're only two of us ever in our car, by simply leaving them fastened always ;)
Haha that’s a good tip! Thank you! 🙏
Another great video Nick. Had my new E300 cabriolet Night Edition since the first of March and still learning some great things about MBUX. Just waiting for Mercedes to activate the Dashcam facility Keep up the great work
Thanks Bazooka Joe! Glad you liked the videos! Ooo very nice an E 300 Cabriolet! Very smart! Just in time for summer too!

Ah awesome! Thank you! Glad you like the videos! 🤓
Fantastic videos just about to get our first Merc (A200) and I’ve been assigned the technology role by the boss so these videos are perfect
Awesome thanks Jason! Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Many thanks for explaining the AIRBAG signal. User manual is no clear at all. It leaves to “faith” or trust wether the system works properly or not. Now with your sample getting out and into the car. I understand how the signals work and how to interpret them.
Used the sat nav for the first time recently on my C Class, it was way out for a long distance 4 hour drive across Ireland. Basically had me driving an extra 55 minutes unnecessary BUT for shorter distances and in particular certain hotspots, points of interests, parking it is excellent 👍
Hmmm, did it re-route for Live Traffic or something?
Another great informative video. Answered 2 of key queries.
Wooo! Glad you liked it Neil! 🤓
@@npoleary Always wondered about the rear seat belt image and why. And the passenger airbag sign. Everyday is a school day.
Very interesting and useful! Many thanks.
No worries! Thanks William!
Thnx man! That rear seat’s alert was driving me insane. I though there was a sensor problem in my Mercedes 😂
Thank you Nick for the informative videos . It would be nice to know what the indicator icon of " steering wheel with two hands on it " signifies in my GLC 300e hybrid ?
That sounds like you have the Driving Assistance Package 🤓 Got it covered in this video here if you have it: kzhead.info/sun/f6mqfZZ-qId_lHA/bejne.html
Brilliant!
Thanks Moti!
Hi Nick, really helpful thanks. Cleared up a couple of things I noticed on my E Class. The rear belt isn’t a fault, it’s supposed to always appear and I also noted from time to time the SOS going red. Interested to know linked to that whether the 3G/4G next to it on the screen relates to the onboard sim for internet to car or the personal phone attached. Finally another video suggestion unless I missed one somewhere, could you possibly cover the Mercedes Me button in the roof panel - what is it, what services/functions do you access it pressed etc. Many thanks for all the really useful content!
Thanks Adrian, and thank you for the suggestion. Absolutely, I’ll add that to my next tips and tricks video which will feature in the future! The 3G / 4G symbol is related to the car’s onboard e-sim 🤓
Many Thanks Nick, it could be me being of a certain age but the interior of cars seem to be getting overwhelming!! Peace From London. 🙋
There is certainly a lot of tech in them these days, but the best thing is it can be all customised, toned down or toned up depending on your preference. I know some owners who just literally drive them and don’t even connect a phone or use anything apart from radio on the multimedia system.
what a PRO, thanks Nick
Haha thank you! Glad you enjoyed this one! 🤓🙏
Very helpful thanks
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Hi Nick, thanks for the another great video 👍👍
Thanks Jag! 🤓
Nick I did not know where to put this: My oil level in the service menu is just below Max, so ok. I opened the Workshop menu and scrolled to oil level. The oil level switches from liters to quarts on its own and does not vary the # qts or # Liters very much, so this must be a software bug. This is present in my 2020 GLE350 4 MATIC and my friend's 2024 GLE I looked at the oil level on my scantool on the 20202 GLE and it reads 98 mm well within normal so it correlates with the oil level graphic but not with the Workshop Menu. Thanks for considering and passing the info to Mercedes.
Oh I see, I mean on my car I’ve looked at my oil level just out of curiosity and it’s obviously where it should be but not noticed any flickering. Sadly I only know people at my local Mercedes and Mercedes press office. If you have feedback it might be best to submit a contact us / feedback form on their website.
Thank you for the videos Nick. Just bought a Mercedes’ for the first time and I’m checking out your videos before I even drive it. Your content has reached Australia! Two questions - if you want to drive forwards into a car park (parking assist) where do you stop the car in relation to the spot? And when the car is moving in or out of a car park and you disconnect the active parking assist (ie accidentally) can you can re engage it again?
Oh wow! That’s awesome! Glad you’re enjoying them! Ah it’ll tell you on the screen once you’ve gone far enough (usually a car length after the space) Sadly no, once deactivated for example if you touch the wheel and move it, there is no way to deactivate until unless you drive past the space again.
Great video as always. I especially like the fact that you are very business-like and to the point with no inane grinning. One small point, the driver is only responsible for his/ her
.......passengers wearing a seatbelt, if they are aged under 14. After that, it’s down to them!
Thank you! 🙏🙏🤓
Thanks for that, the seat belt notification was bugging the hell out of me! Now I understand, and it actually makes sense
🤓 Aha yeah I know! Thought I’d cover it on here as it is asked a lot! 😅
Hi Nick, congrats for all these fantastic videos. I’ve recently bought a B-class and have been reading about the active lane keeping assist. In your video you say it can keep the lane breaking the opposite wheels. From what I read, there are two different systems: - active lane keeping assist: this works if you have distronic, and is able to steer the steering wheels and keep the car in the lane, and keeping constant distance from the car ahead; - the system that takes you back in the lane, I think it’s part of the attention assist and it’s designed to prevent accidents from falling asleep. In fact it looks like that from Mercedes’ studies neither the horn sound nor the vibrating steering wheel were sufficient to wake up the driver. Hence they have opted for this stronger option of braking with the opposite wheels. I think all recent Mercedes have the latter, while the distronic is an optional, and in fact this is the case for my B-class, where I have the latter, but not the first system (only have cruise control, without adaptive technologies). Would you agree or am I missing something? Cheers and happy Christmas, please keep doing these fantastic videos!
Thank you! I covered wuite a few safety tech inventions by Mercedes in this one: kzhead.info/sun/lMV_l9dwpnOFgY0/bejne.html Active Lane Keeping Assist is starting to appear on more cars than ever before these days. Some models of Mercedes can brake one side to jolt you back into lane, some can steer you back in. Just depends on the year of manufacture from what I’ve seen 👍🏼 And yes Distronic is quite a rare one but very useful for driving on a motorway for a long period of time
Brilliant! Just spent 30 mins on chat with Mercedes asking why my App says Incomplete configuration, followed their 'suggestions' and got absolutely nowhere! Lucky me (me, not MB me, haha) I found your channel and struck gold. I'm now on your 5th video and learning tons of useful stuff. I can confidently say that I'm no longer intimidated by my super computer on wheels. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!
Ah awesome! Thank you Antya Markin! 🤓 Glad you enjoy the videos! I’ll try and keep them coming!
@@npoleary Oh no! It looked so simple... Unfortunately, when I go to my in car profile and general settings, I am not presented with the option to synchronise my profile - all I have is the option to enable 'Show profile selection on entering'. I'm truly baffled! Any ideas?
Hey Antya, I have noticed since making this video that not all models have that menu item. It was introduced at some point meaning that it’ll probably be updated when you next have it in for service or an Over the Air Update is sent. If you do take it in for it’s service, just mention it and they can check to make sure you’re on the latest version 🤓
@@npoleary Thank you x
Thanks Nick, you’re videos are really helpful. I’ve recently bought a 2018 A Class. For some reason the satnav keeps trying to navigate home without me telling it to. Sometimes it starts doing it even when I’m driving from home! Is there a setting somewhere I’ve missed?
Ah awesome! Thank you! I’ve actually covered it in this video here: kzhead.info/sun/gNaAidSBkZqwlZ8/bejne.html It’s called the Commuter Route 🤓
Hi Nick, great video & has really helped with my 23 plate A35 :) Do have a question regarding the active lane keeping assist feature.....when active the speed is shown under the two green lines on the display but this is in Kmh, do you know how this is changed to mph? I have all the other units set to mph but this hasn't changed the lane assist :(
Thank you! Lane assist doesn’t show kmh, that’s a completely separate thing. You have to have two units on the screen by law. Some manufactures show it on the Speedo where as some so it digitally. In fact I just checked, you ought to watch all of FAQ series I’ve made at my local Mercedes. You’ve just watched part one here, part two answers that question! 😂 kzhead.info/sun/jJV9ZLmagHiPeq8/bejne.htmlsi=JkwJKoavPs_UacyC
The charge bar actually shows that it's charging the auxiliary battery by regenerative braking, Auxiliary battery is majorly used to power the start stop function and a few more while the main battery is used to power up the rest of the car in normal circumstances.
Great work as ever Nick. Question: Where do i find costing information to have the internet enabled on my car?
Once your car is linked to your Mercedes me account, you can view the pricing on the Mercedes me portal which subsequently takes you to the Vodafone website. Last time I visited the website, monthly prices for the UK were £11 a month for 2GB and £20 a month for 15GB. There were other pay as you go prices but they’ll be listed on there if you have a look 🤓 Hope that helps!
Excellent Nick and very helpful to a new owner of an E300 Cabriolet. Question: sometimes after reversing, the reverse camera continues to operate after I change to Drive and move forward. This means that the Mercedes rear boot latch (which is the large Mercedes symbol and contains three camera) has remained open. Several times people have waived at me thinking something is amiss. Why does it not close after I select D?
Hey Tony, thank you! Yes I’ve had that before 😅 Quite simply the reversing camera stays out until a sufficient speed is reached. Approx 10-12 mph 🤓
Great video Nick 👍
Thank you! 🤓
Great video, thanks!
Thanks Russell!
Good information on the rear seatbelts, was wondering if I should have that looked at :D
Aha! 👀 It is a common question! Glad it cleared it up for you! Thanks Blackfield! 🤓
Thank you for your information from FC Thailand
No worries!
thank you for your quick response. From the instruction manual it suggests that the tow away protection (and interior protection if that is also deactivated) will be primed again when we open the door to get out and then lock the vehicle. We think this is what went wrong on the IOW ferry, however we are now going to do a 30 hour crossing to spain. Can you advise?
Hey Audrey, just press it as you leave and it’ll stay off until you next unlock and lock the car again 🤓 So for example, if you deactivated it but forgot something and unlocked the car and got back in and left again, you’ll need to repeat the process.
Hello Nick, amazing video. I have a question, do the "Active lane keeping assist" and "Active break assist" are automatically turned on when being on the road? because it happens that i have them switched off but when travelling i see them both activated.
Thank you! Yes they’re safety systems so they’ll always default to on when you first turn it on each cycle of the ignition 👍🏼
Niiiick! Your videos are amazing! Is there one that tells how to disarm the annoying seatbelt chime in the new GLC 300? Thank you, thank you!
Thank you! 🤓 Seatbelt chime? Is that the one when the belt isn’t clipped in?
Thanks Nik, very informative. Would you know how to see the interior temperature in the new E-Class? I can see it through the Mercedes ME app when I use the remote engine start function but not when I’m actually in the car…
Hi Ali, I’m not aware of this function in the car to be honest. Over here in the UK, we don’t have remote engine start at all. In the UK cars you can view the external temperature on the instrument cluster and of course changed the internal temperature on the screen but that’s it. I’m guessing it’s the same and you can only view this on the app
@@npoleary Thank you for the response Nick. I will keep searching and also let you know if I come across something. Really enjoying your videos. All the best. Ali
Most of the dealers and sales person here in dubai Dnt know this What u have explained in beautiful way Superb hatsoff sir to you For excellent information cleared all my doubts
Thank you! 🙏👍🏼
Great video as usual with helpful tips. I have a question about the light. My mercedes has intelligent light system with dipped beams. The dipped beams is set on left side traffic. I live in London UK. Is this the correct setting or should I change it to Right side traffic. I’m just confused whether it should be set on side you drive on, or the side of opposite traffic.
Hey Ajmal, thank you! Glad you like the videos! Left Side for UK 🤓 Just select right side if you ever drive on the opposite side in another country 😎
I recently purchased a 2020 E450 wagon in the U.S. It's been sitting in the garage for 6 weeks waiting for a title and it'll be a coiple more weeks. Your videos have been a great help getting me prepared ! I feel like I have a concierge; ) None of this is intuitive to me.
Oh awesome! Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos! 🙏🙏
Thanks for the videos Nick, really helpful in getting to grips with all the technology onboard my B Class PHEV. I have one little problem though. Twice now whilst sat on the boot edge to put on my golf shoes the boot lid has started closing down on me unexpectedly catching me on the head once. Any ideas how this might be happening please?
Hey Bob, do you happen to have KEYLESS-GO (part of the Premium Package) in the UK? If you do then there’s a sensor under the boot. When your leg or foot is waved underneath this will cause the boot to open / close which might be what you experienced.
@@npoleary that'll almost certainly be what I've been doing inadvertently!! Thanks a bunch. Keep up the good work.
You're good! Very knowledgeable.
Thanks Roger! Glad you liked it!
@@npoleary I may have missed it, but do you have a vid on the digital gauge cluster?
Hey Roger, unfortunately no not the digital instrument cluster specifically as it does vary from model to model. Which model do you have? 🤓
Hey Nick, I'm getting a 2021 GLC on Wednesday (Super excited 😁). Got the upgraded headlights with the digital cluster.
Ooo very nice! You’ll be able to customise the centre part of the screen but also the right hand dial. Very useful actually as you can swipe the touchpad and select the right dial to display a map instead of your revs. There are a few others on there but it’s pretty cool what you can do these days!
Thanks for another great video Nick. 2 points I pick from it the rear seat belt warning I do not get on my 2019 A class 180d sport exec. also the internet in the car I'm with EE and can share data could I share it with the car?
Hey Ronnie, thank you! Not sure if it varies from model to model as they might not all have that. Sadly no the data is one way, the car is essentially a router and can send internet out to your devices if you have a valid subscription.
Hey Nick your videos are fantastic. I just purchased a new GLS 450 to replace my old GL 450 and your videos have been a great help. So here's a question for which I'd like an answer, or perhaps a video: After a bit of research, I've come to understand that the three door seat presets are unique to each user profile, mush as the radio presets are. It's easy to change them using the M1/2/3 buttons and it's all quite intuitive because it works like older MBs. But here's the part I'm still trying to work out: What seat setting is stored in the MBUXZ for each profile, and how do you change it if you want to? When I go into my MBUX profile, all I can see is the Start Assistant which tries to run me through the automatic seat setup where you put in your height. I want to set adjust my seat to a position and then have the MBUX memorize it in my profile. It seems as though the MBUX seat memory setting is indeed separate from those in the doors, as the system has no way of knowing which door setting (M1/2/3) would be associated with my profile. Any advice is appreciated!
Hey Scott, thank you! Glad you’re loving the videos! Yes so as far as I’ve seen this does vary from model to model slightly but most will do as you said. Each profile (up to 7 in total) houses their own Memory 1, 2 & 3 presets for each person. I guess you can use Memory 1 for driving and maybe memory 2 for something else like getting in and out or even 3 for a more laid back seating position. Hope that makes sense! 👍🏼
Brilliant video , I have a query onmy 2017 A200D Premium . When the red light is on on AC is it on or off please ?
Yes the climate control lights are always red to show they’re on 🤓 Glad you enjoyed the video! 🤓
Nick, really like all the hints & tips you are sharing with us all. I must admit I do get 🆘 showing Not inoperative occasionally, I contacted my dealer, however they said could I take a photo, I mentioned this wasn’t possible as it’s always when driving… They didn’t seem to be that bothered about it & didn’t offer any further advice. Any thoughts?
Yes of course! This is a very common question on my channel 👀 I’ve covered it here: kzhead.info/sun/p9mYcc-srmtpqWw/bejne.html About 6mins 26 sec in Basically SOS not ready / SOS ready is only active when the ignition is on. If it’s off then it will not be active. If it happens while driving, it’ll just be because of lack of signal reception to the car.
Love the pride watch strap! Very useful video
Thanks Michael! Glad you enjoyed the video! 🤓
That Passenger air bag light freaked me out. I had been digging around in the car, while looking at the fuse box and for ways to route dash cam cable. I thought I had broken something to cause the air bag to fail. Only figured it out much later, that it only enabled when someone was sat there.
