Building the CV spool for the Mini Baja Bug Project

2023 ж. 25 Қар.

Today we are starting another new project! I'm not going to say what that new project is just yet, first we need to build the CV spool, rear bearing carriers, and front spindles. In this video we build the spindles and finish all the components we need to start this new project. We also get the engine we are going to use which happens to be another Polaris XLT 600 snowmobile engine! so 95HP! This things going to rip!!

  • Have you ever thought of using hand cleaner for mounting tires? It would have to be the cream without the pumice in it, though. My grandfather taught me that way. It softens the rubber and makes it slippery, then evaporates.

  • The "Special" XLT difference seems to just be the Fox long travel suspension in the front and rear. Snowmobile 2t triples are such cool motors, I love seeing them in builds. 2Ts have actually been making a comeback with crazy EFI and Turbo models released in the last few years in everything from sleds to dirtbikes and even chainsaws. If the CVT setup wasnt so darn wide I would love to put an older snowmobile triple in a small motoGP style motorcycle build...120+hp and under 300lbs would be a riot :).

  • That green slime is a preventative. It gets added usually before the tire is used. Slime it then air it and you have yourself a tire that acts puncture proof or slime seals around stuff(screws,nails... ect) so you don't get stranded. It's not really like fix a flat or similar.

  • I'm with you on not enjoying working with tires that have the green slime in them, but that being said i will still put it into any ATV/UTV I own. I drive primarily on rocky trails with a lot of weight on. I have never had a tire make it for more than its first year before it starts slow leaking. Put in the green slime and I don't have to add air for the whole season. Its worth working with the mess at tire change over time.
