    • I really liked this, it's not so much a nosey thing to me but a great glimpse behind the scenes. You can talk to almost anyone and hear some crazy rumor about how much so-and-so makes from KZhead and this takes away the mystery and simply shows how it works. Very interesting, and great work thanks for sharing.

  • Chatting so clearly, intelligently, calmly, and naturally on camera like this is a gift that very few have. He makes it look like falling off a log, which l guess is the key to his success. To be skilled in the art of communication is probably the most important asset to being successful, and this guy has it in spades.

  • Dan, I recently started watching your videos about six months ago ,I do not backpack anymore but I do bicycle touring for the last 40 years I find that most of the equipment is the same, except for the obvious bicycle, racks and bags. I have watched multiple different backpacking channels what is different about yours is that you are very down to earth plain spoken sometimes misspoken, but you make the subjects you do very interesting. You have been a great help to me and picking out new equipment for my touring rig. I am retiring soon and plan on doing some touring the summer thanks again and God bless.

  • I'm still in the beginning-phase of starting my own outdoor-channel. It is much harder than you'd think, but it is very fun if you're into the whole process. Going on a trip can be somewhat challenging on it's own, but if you plan on making it into a video, you need to bring so much extra gear, and also plan ahead enough that you know you'd get enough content for a video. And then it's a balancing act between it being too scripted, or being too improviced and random with no story driving the video forward. I am still experimenting with finding my own style, and hope to create a channel people can enjoy.
