¡Si muchísimas gracias!
Thank you boss
When they told me my daughter was born, I was listening to String Quartet No. 5: III. The day was so bright despite my tears of excitement. Sublime
Fireplace. Hot chocolate. Psilocybin. Philip Glass. Life is perfect.

Im listening to this since many years, it is still a perfection !
I'm in love with this music.
also!!! I love this music .Philip Glass is a great compositor. and a good man ( a french listener : Dany woman, 75 years old)

Im in love with a stripper.
@@jazzochannel I'm in love with your dad.
This is just insanely good.
First time I heard music by Philip Glass I did not care for it, now I can't get enough. This is amazing!
I don’t know why it didn’t hit me 40 years ago, but I was busy learning about all the great music that came before him. Finally, at a funeral for a friend 2 years ago, a string quartet played the 5th string quartet and I found tears streaming down my cheeks. I’ve been listening to Philip Glass non-stop since that day.
Have you discovered his film score The Secret Agent yet? I hoped that the Kronos Quarter had put that on their album too.
ETALLONIC PERFORMANCE. Kronos - is the definition of the words "String Quartet". Philip Glass is one of the Greatest Composer in history of MUSIC.
great music and a stunning performance. Glass in my opinion is the number one of classical contemporaney music
Yes - this is very good music and beautifully played with responsive intelligence and grace.
I've seen Kronos live, they are amazing. I love this piece.
This is one of the best classical recordings of all time. Full stop.
That's insanely beautiful!
Haunting. In the best respect... the more we listen to it the deeper it goes inside my heart and spirit...
This is my absolute favourite Philip Glass recordings and one of my most favourite Kronos Quartet recordings and has been for years.
It's brilliant! This and Glassworks. Powerful music.
I've enjoyed Kronos Quartet for years...I want to say ...Thankyou!

This make my soul smile !
I wasn't two minutes into this music and decided: I have to get this CD! Thank you.
Simply wonderdul! Saw P.G. with them a couple of years ago. They were fantastic!
beauty and power. An amazing piece of music
What happens at 17:20 is a gift from god
I love the way we are strangers who will never meet, but I am connecting with you now over this most powerful of musical moments.
Wonderful! Thank you.
beloved
I'm just reading his autobiography. It has brought me back to the music with greater respect for his history and training.
The cover is a painting by Francisco Clemente entitled "The Four Corners." Certainly a painter worth a few minutes of Google Image ogling. Cheers!
Francesco Clemente
I am enjoying it, thanks for uploading it onto KZhead .
thanks for the info, he is quite fantastic!
Odd thumb, it’s at an unusual angle and not in proportion to rest of fingers
Wonderfully presented, and such very engaging music. For one glorious moment, music of such joy I over and over again respond raising my fist and dancing and have a tear or two.
This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard.
THANK YOU!!!!.....
Hats off to Kronos Quartet and Philip Glass for the amazing imagery this magical music conjures in my imagination
So glad I found Philip Glass
Near perfection.
Una obra genial ejecutada magistralmente. Muy bueno!
Excellent pour s'endormir...
Genial toda esta obra!
Incredible
deep bow - an extraordinary revelation!
JOY.....
Sublime!
The cellist in this classic Glass album is NOT Jennifer Culp, but Joan Jeanrenaud, the original cellist of the quartet since 1978. Culp replaced Jeanrenaud in 1999, then was replaced by Jeffrey Zeigler in 2005 who was replaced by Sunny Yang in 2013. Jeanrenaud recorded 31 albums with the Kronos Quartet, the last one being "Dracula" in 1999 (or was it Mansell's "Requiem for a Dream" ?)
I am listening to this magnificent performance and realized that SQ 4, aside from reminding me of Beethoven's op 127 with its opening forceful chords, is expertly jammed with by the birds outside my window :) edit: and the last movement of this video makes me cry ;(
M'acabo de subscriure , és genial!! Moltes gràcies TrashDistrict !!
😊👏👍
Sublime
my favorite classical mix right here. Hands down some genius shit . like that image up there thats ingenious cuz
wonderfull work!
this is very satisfying to listen to.
Perfection.
I have to buy a very high quality set of speakers just so I can be memorised. I would love to hear this in a large cathedral

You cannot surpass the energy flowing through your body when listening to this : 1:05:20 String Quartet no. 3 “Mishima”: VI. Mishima/Closing
Sometimes, you end up in a cold room, dark and empty. Closed windows, locked doors. Your eyes have adapted to the small light that seeps into the holes of your curtains. You stand in the middle of the room and you have finally become this "entity" you had seen in a strange and penetrating dream 🕌
bravo
ab Minute 18 schüttelts mich....
I have Passage with Shankar and first time a listen this one i recognized the same sound, atmosphere. Thank upload
...which occurs often when listening to Glass.
17:20
its the best part
I actually kinda stole this from a library. Never took the CD back. circa 1999.
I am obsessed with this. Music like this sounds like a human singing, but it's not.
Glass actually makes this observation in his book. Pretty much everything he composed before 1985 involved one or more singers, so those habits of writing lyrical melodies carried over to his purely instrumental work.
Isn't Joan Jeanrenaud the cellist for this recording? Thanks for the upload.
I understand that yes, she did play cello on this recording.
Thanks for timeline .
I would say that perhaps it’s Kronos Quartet that can actually perform String Quartet No. 5 that is lovely. I witnessed an attempt at a performance by another quartet. Honestly, it was horrifying. The piece requires strong soloists who can perform together. The viola sounded a half step flat, while some of the ostenatos and other tonal fireworks were disemboweled with a dull plastic knife. This is insanely beautiful.
its almost like this piece was commisioned by the Kronos Quartet and had Glass work with them directly woah crazy I know! 🤯

After so much loud and stupid on youtube it's nice to tune into this.
Some of the themes sound similar to Uakti.
Glass is certainly not oppose to recycling themes. When I was listening to "Aguas da Amazonia" the first few times I was perplexed at how familiar a certain recurring theme sounded. It wasn't until I reacquainted myself with Glass' "Solo Piano" album that I found my answer. Metamorphosis!

I like the music in 17:20, very optimistic.
Glass has been screwed out of at least 20 Grammy Awards
I have heard this, but I dont know when, maybe in a former life. Or in a dream. Anyway, this music is with me from now on.

Your presumption is indicative of an immature attitude to the subject of personal taste.
How presumptuous of you to require that everyone appreciate the things you do lest they be classed as Philistines. So, YOU are the arbiter of soul, taste and class?

I think another upload of this album was deleted
Oh, I didn't know that. I guess I'll have to wait and see if it eventually gets removed.

What is the meaning of 1934. Grandmother and Kimitake at String Quartet no. 3 “Mishima”?
It was the scene the music was written for in the movie "Mishima"- a movie soundtrack Glass wrote in 1985.
