  • I've heard it said before and it's true, tennis is a "lifting" sport, that is, extra shot power, not generated by the racquet arm, is generated by driving the legs and torso upward, not forward. Any forward body motion is created by the follow through after contact is made and the ball has left the strings. Watch pros in slo mo and you will see this. Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz, Medvedev.
