Be resourceful. Was built using old wood scraps and spare screws. Purchased nothing specifically for this job :) add's to the satisfaction.
We had a power outage that day too, so everything was cut with a hand saw minus the metal sheet when it came back on that arvo.

We lost 3 chooks last night so I built a trap using a similar design as yours today.

Thanks very much. An extra large fox trap is very expensive here $175. or so! I cant wait to dispose of these killers!
I like this type of trap cause it doesn't kill a innocent animal it just traps it good job

@@Doomedbythenarrative In Australia, foxes are an invasive species and have to be killed. If the wrong animal gets caught, it can be released.

thanks roadrunners! I caught that nasty fox that was prowling around my farm with it! I like that I doesn't kill it, it just traps it. I carried the fox to a nearby field and it never messed with the chickens again.
Yeah no the trap definitely doesn't cause it any damage. Humane in that sense.

I liked that its trap will do one on my ranch in Tocantins state in Brazil where I live to catch large animals and what the name of the first song she has a beautiful symphony pleases my ears even I not speaking English very well and to me you write so I had to use Google translator
Sweet trap. I can’t shoot in town and I reckon the mesh dog traps maybe put them off somewhat, as they seem to be not keen on going in. Going to make one of these though thanks for the vid.

Well done, you did a good job from start to finish. I'm surprised yon fox didn't bite through the wire, maybe because it's a cub it didn't do it. My hen pen got raided last year and the fox tore through the chicken wire on the door to get in. It killed 3 and took one so I set a snare in the hole it had made and he was in it next morning. It wouldn't be so bad if they just took what they need to survive but they always seem to go bezerk and kill everything that moves near them. Good luck mate and keep moiderin them varmints!
It's a tough game getting foxes. For further I'll be using some heavier gauge stuff for sure Appreciate the tip!

Good design for a fox trap. Not impressed with some fox traps on the market as they look to small. So I will make one myself.

Nice build man.. I'm doing this Saturday if my Hav-a-hart trap don't work it's small.. Got the fox on cam every night last few days head goes farther and farther in the trap every night hoping he goes all the way in tonight or before satuday..

+Paul G It was just some really heavy gauge stuff I had lying around. Though you could use a multitude of things though, even a long nail or what ever would work.

Hi Thank You im building one tomorrow to catch wild cats peeing in my yard. then take them to the dog pound.i like your idea with the round poles for the door, i was going to do the same but use pvc instead, so the door doesn't get stuck. i think i will do it your way instead. looks better built ! Thank You again i have been looking all over the internet for a design... God Bless.. i gave You a Thumbs Up ! well worth it..
