  • Heads up, our content may start slowing down later this month because I (Umu) will be visiting Korea for the first time!! I'll have less time to edit and review my editor's drafts because I plan to film a ton of fun, exclusive vlogs and interviews when I'm in Seoul. To stay up to date with my journey (and my visit to SM Entertainment) follow me on my IG: @umucado! ➡Watch UNCUT versions of our '28 Reasons' reaction on our Patreon: www.patreon.com/reacttothek 🗓 Reaction Release Schedule + list of all our Patreon-exclusive videos: docs.google.com/document/d/1uvf-u1EJVB-hmB3IU0P6M-obdMNu11fo_aUIf6dur70/edit?usp=sharing

    • @@im8036 Her family knows. The other members of RV know (one of them being her best friend). The people she works with on a regular basis know (and, yes, that is an ENTIRE world-class company worth of very skilled people. As a boatload of professionals, they likely would not put up with bullshit from anybody for very long). She would not be FRIENDS with anybody at all if she was a huge liar about her personality type. There would be plenty of media frenzy around her if she actually was a jerk while off-camera. Besides, people she does not work with have caught her on camera while she was busy being a sweetheart, without her knowing she was on camera. Personally, I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. You are REALLY reaching with your damnable negativity. Maybe you could spend your time doing something more intelligent than insisting on making yourself look like a dumbass.

  • *REAL TIME REACTIONS* EDITING WAS PERFECTION, A CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE ✨️ I absolutely adored Seulgi's debut!! 28 Reasons (the track and the mini) showcased what she's capable of so well. I think solo's are super beneficial for this reason, because what idols are able to show with work totally catered to them versus for their group can be very different, and it's nice to see their personal styles shine. I think she showed exactly why she is always spoken of so highly!

At this point I am shocked why every K-Pop company doesn't just give this channel explicit permission to use their music because if any reaction channel deserves it, its this one. Before that interview, I did not know they were such good friends; that made it even more special for me. I cried for that one part... Such an inspiring thing to see and hear (and read). When the whole group (RV) reacted to the MV, Wendy told Seulgi that she had never seen anything like this in K-Pop! Total mic-drop moment! That's AWESOME! :)

  • Seulgi's whole album has become an obsession of mine, one even the latest Dreamcatcher album didn't break me of. I love the production of this song, but "Crown," "Dead Man Running," and "Los Angeles" are also excellent. It's just one of those albums where the sound design and composition lend themselves perfectly to the quality and tone of the singer's voice. Seulgi has this sultry warmth to her voice which lends itself so well to the darker production choices in this album. Like, Wendy is one of my favorite singers of all time, but I don't think she could have made the songs on this album sound as good. Also, the dubstep head in me just can't get over the bass in "28 reasons" or "Crown." It's got this lovely rasp to it, like it's so powerful it's causing feedback, or electromagnetic interference. Couple that with some very interesting vocal choices/switchups and a lot of great little bits of sound sprinkled in, and you are left with a perfect example of why Kpop is awesome. Truly one of the best Albums of the year, maybe of all time!

  • Another meticulous breakdown in vocals, instrumentals and composition. Without even mentioning or comparing to Aaliyah !! I feel the production and arrangement of "28 Reasons" lifts so much from traits of Timbaland's production style. This is probably manifested by Yoo Young Jin as his arrangements/production/composition and vocal training has directed Seulgi and many SM acts through his love for r&b. Looking forward to "Nude" being up next. Also cannot wait to see your adventures in Korea... hope you get to meet up and interview with some exciting people/groups/idols/musicians/composers (a meetup with Sera Ryu would be astounding, *wink*😉). Appreciate how you've given the heads up to what youre doing and not like other reactors who dry up for weeks and weeks with no thought to their subs. • Hey, the editing was really cool in this video. While I'm not very versed in music theory the little example snippets made me feel like i'm following the discussion and also the editing brought some light-heartedness and playfulness into the video, made me think of your earlier more fangirling VIXX content that I originally enjoyed. Good job!

  • Yes! and NXDE is next? Love you guys. "28 reasons" is everything - as your reactors mentioned, I love the way the production uses space. And Seulgi's voice is one of the few that could command the center in the bare spots as well as the fuller ones. It was the perfect song for her debut: showcasing the versatility of her vocals and the varieties of her personas. It was very much her song - and not many artists in the genre are capable of delivering the nuanced, moody aesthetic this piece evokes. It was rewarding to see the different ways all of you described how the song evoked the range of mood and meaning within it.

  • Am I old for being sad that no one connected this at all stylistically to Timbaland and his work for/With Aaliyah? 😪😪 Because I definitely felt that connection with the way the base and sound sampling was used. Anyway, a fantastic debut and a lovely mini album.
