Unbelievable work double jointing a broken axle like a pen is mind boggling
#unimaginable #work #jointing #broken #axle #like #pen #mind
Even of the parts last 70% the lifespan of the OEM Replacement, the truck can roll and starting making money again. The cost of this repair is likely one-fifth the cost (and maybe a lot less) than the factory replacement. Even for repeated repairs (or swap-outs), the math works for the trucking company/owner-operator.
People who have never struggled will never understand how wonderful this workers are. They always going to say something negative.
Underrated!
These men are working with what they have, knowledge or lack there of included. Despite no cutting oil, no preheat and grounding to the lathe, whatever vehicle that thing is on is rolling again. At least for the time being.
They do good work in these shops in Pakistan where these kind of repairs are a lot cheaper than having to go out and buy replacement parts from the country where these vehicles were manufactured. I did see some weak points in the repair of this axle. In Pakistan trucks are over loaded beyond the trucks weight limits and no doubt to much torque in the weakest area of the axle twisted it apart. Here in the U.S. we scrap stuff like this because of the high cost to make such a repair. I know of a few small operators who does this type of repair.
What may have happened before is that axel was prob repaired in a similar manner before and cracked in the same location and this is on the 3rd mend.
The power and forces involved in shearing that shaft!!!!
...will break it again, quicker next time as it is now significantly weaker...
I'd say something went wrong in the metallurgy process when making it. I wouldn't used that axle again. It's even weaker now.
@@LeeHill66 its caused by the shear abuse that they inflict on their vehicles!
Never going to last 😅
Trimakasih anda orang baik. Sehingga banyak orang yg mengambil ilmu dari saudara. Semuga barokah salam dari indonesia.
They probably have done hundreds like this and will get another 500,000 miles out of it,lol
Felicidades me diste catedra..... Mis respetos.... Gracias.
Welding a rod such as this is bad enough, but in this case these men created two failure points on the same shaft. This one will be back in the shop soon no doubt.
Yep. I admire their ingenuity, but not everything is repairable.
@@paulbright5081 this one might have been possible if they had used the screw together method then welded it. That would have added some additional strength to the rod.
I think it's made for utubing only, there is no strength on that repair.
@@Elchapo62 your probably right, but you never can tell. They do what they can as cheaply as possible to stay on the road, parked awaiting parts makes them no money. Just a thought...... thanks for your response.
@@paulorth2251yeah, exactly. These guys aren’t stupid either. They know what they are doing. 10 times harder working than any U.S. Mechanic and probably 10 times more honest.
Muy buenos trabajos los felicito saludos 😊
GENIUS OF A REPAIR .
Perfect!
Verry Good... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 We Love You Prom Viet Nam... 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Working to the precision of a chalk mark! But he does know how to sharpen a drill.
When you need to make chicken salad out of chickenshit… These are the guys to call
Good job !
So how is that supposed to be anywhere near as strong as the original with all that unwelded dead space inside it? I get the feeling these types of repairs are only performed so that the owner can shift the vehicle on to some unsuspecting buyer.
agreed 💡
Awesome work🎉
Quanto trabalho .
That poor lathe has suffered horrendous abuse and the welding is bloody terrible. Sometimes all you can do is use the tools you have with whatever knowledge you have. I give these chaps a like for effort. They’ve earned a nice cold drink today.
Very nice joints 😮😮😮
Good job👍
Muy laborioso 👌👍
Theres just some repairs that you have to do right and replace the shaft. This repair may be interesting but its a failure because its not going to last and its dangerous
Good job
Yup, unbelievable!
Man is rolling the shaft and also using a hacksaw. Should have just stood against the spinning of the machine and held the saw firm then the machine would do the job. But he decided to saw in the direction of the spin 😂😂. very clever.
in some inconsistent steels this may be needed as well to prevent the saw being grabbed & thrown & sawing allows you to expose the hack saw blade in more than one spot & not wear out the hack saw as fast
Pandai dan mantab brother. I ❤ Indonesia. Tapi sayang belum pakai sepatu kwatir kena pecahan logam kecil kecil dan terima kasih.
My comment will probably be lost but whoever reads this.. you got this! whatever you're going through will get better💛
Like good job my friend
Woww..amazing bro😅
I wonder how long it will last this time?
Parabéns
Nice shaft
Repair work is good but It can never be as strong as a one piece forged rod.
kzhead.info/sun/dsqLaZimoXOMZas/bejne.html
Excellent video thanks you are doing great job.
Is there any shaft 's strength test ? I think it must be tested.
As long as it works.....it's good!

They do an amazing job but I would doubt that the weld rod material would be as strong as the forged axle material.
Plus , the spindle in the center wouldn't hold if the forged axle wasn't enough to hold . Probably a dump truck anyway . No WAY this is a permanent repair . Maybe for a pinch but that's it . They'll be pulling that axle soon .
Maybe they can heat the material up and heatreat it. Atleast until they have another axle
It won't take the torsional action anymore . As soon as the axle got buried it would break . A lot of work for nothing really . @@warrenclaasen8731
The weld rod is much stronger than the base material.
It is stronger than the broken axle
Wow 👌
Amazing work 😮. Who knew this could be repaired. I would have sent it to the scrap pile.
It can't and that's where it is going to end up in the near future.
Good
Interesting work. I'm no expert, but wouldn't a good pre-heat make the joints more uniform after welding? And I imagine there will be a bearing or two somewhere by the flange, the diameter is now off after final turning... 🤔
This kind of work is probably tryel error mastering
Kind of like your spelling
👍👍👍!!!
Cool
Reface also the end plate of the axle.
Wah ji wah 🌹👏👏👏👏
That “repair” will not last a second.
And the most incredible thing is that he like my comment! Poor guy!
Top 🇧🇷
the costumer seems make himself angry about this stuff😂😂😂😂😂
Its obvious you people know nothing about metal eurgy
Furo muito grande pra emendar vai ficar pouca solda
I don’t know nothing about this kind of jobs, looks good for me. How much cost do something like this?
Where is coolant for machining?
Ever heard of Pythagoras? You shortened the axle because you measured at an angle.
They got all these tools, EXCEPT a hammer, Mjolnir. 🤣😂
good from oman
unconvincing repair
Good labour, but not enough. It should be downgraded for trucks that carry lightweight cargo only ,it should have gone for a heat treatment for improved strength.
What on earth was the shaft made from in the first instance. A disaster waiting to happen again soon.
❤❤

Hmmm hopefully this shaft doesn't have similar torques applied to it again.
Mending meuli anu anyar bro.. Teu ngamodal pisan😱
