    • I literally paused the video because I was so impressed that I have to compliment you. I am 61 years old and I was probably skateboarding (and surfing and snowboarding - my oldest one was made in the 1960s called the SKURFER) before your parents were born!?!?!?! I am not Saying that to be condescending I'm saying that Because I want you to know that I love your video approach, technique or style whatever you want to call it. It is very calm and precise with some nice background tunes. You pointed out some very important details that I had never heard mentioned in other reviews. I have been watching review videos for at least 5 years and still have not bought one. Technology keeps advancing so fast I always want the newest Technology but also want the best price and those 2 never coincide at the same time ARGHHH. What I want is an awesome all terrain (but not extreme terrain) hub motor board with pneumatic tires. It doesn't have to go faster than 25mph. Does it exist?

      @billclark8241@billclark8241 Жыл бұрын
  • Just to clarify, max motor ratings are NOT the same as how powerful the board is. TO learn how many watts are actually being delivered, theres an equation involving cell discharge, amps available via vesc, etc. Most rack boards are between 300 and 800 watts per motor. The reason you use a motor with a 2500,3000 or 3500w max is for headroom. This keeps motors from overheating.

  • Okay, I commute into the city from CT and have the joyous trek from GCT to midtown. To not lose my mind I copped a boosted mini X like 8 months before they went belly up. Say that because, as you mention in the vid, weaving in and out of traffic is a must. Now, I recently had my worst and really only fall in the years of doing this commute. It was on the miserable park Ave, where like every other block has that metal joint/separation? You probably know what I'm talking about. Anyway, late night at work, rushing to catch the train, one of the joints caught me by surprise (bad on me for not having lights). I went over fine but didn't have the confidence in my urethane wheels to make it so I bailed. Stepped off but going too fast and fell forward. Messed up wrist and cracked a rib, annoying but more than anything mad at nyc for having shit roads and worse bike lanes ( the few they have). So I took a spell off the board for a bit to heal and Corona closed my office anyway. Fast forward a few weeks and I take the board out in the cold for a short errand and ruin my battery by running it too low. Red light fun. SOO, I'm over correcting and getting a board that'll eat up anything those streets can give out. Question for you is, were you ultimately able to weave in traffic with the propel? If so, if there were some type of after market handle would it work to tow it around given how wide the trucks are? Seems like the meepo would be my obvious choice, but I'm not digging the esc feature with the hill. The boosted managed downhill tremendously, so I can't not have that ability in my board. The propel seems massive, but I'm liking the idea of flying through Park ave again without a care. Not sure the standard "at" production boards can really do that with just the pneumatic wheels but let me know if otherwise. Ideally the exway atlas would be my number one but their range is bottom tier and I'm hearing bad experiences with exeay as of late. If you had a ~$3k budget (I'd spend more for the perfect option, just not seeing it) given I'm using it for commute, range, reliability, availability, subdued styling (office job afterall), and handling nyc roads are my priorities what other boards should I consider? The hammer maybe? I dunno, feel like most reviews are bought and paid for. But you seem legit and at least know the struggle of nyc roads so curious your thoughts. Good vid btw, keep it up. And watch out for those bus lanes. Those guys have tried to run me over many o'time! Ha

    @Edy54321@Edy543212 жыл бұрын
    • Funny thing is I hit those metal sheets before when I used to own a backfire g2 black which flew me at least 5 feet down the street. Luckily I was able to land on the metal sheet so I didn’t end up with any road burns or anything just a injured knee. Anyways I think your making a great purchase and I think 3k is more than enough to get a good AT board. If I was you I would most definitely do the Hurricane because Manhattan traffic is pretty bad and also you will be able to get caught up with traffic. I’m not saying the Propel can’t do that either but it’s more wider and you are riding in NYC so there might be some spaces you won’t be able to fit through. The Propel does also have a wider turning radius but I saw a video on Propels Facebook where some guy made a custom bushing that goes underneath the suspension that allows him to do a U-turn on a one way street. Personally I’d go for the Hurricane this board will give so much adrenaline and you will confident enough to pass cars in flowing traffic. However I have experienced some crappy roads in NYC with my Hurricane and it was bumpy but not too bad. I’ll also tell you one thing once you put on AT wheels the fear of the roads completely goes away and you’ll be confident enough to ride on any street at full speed. Overall the choice is yours you can get the BMW aka Hurricane that will be sporty, nimble and easy to carry around. Or you can get the Mercedes aka Propel Endeavor which will be the most comfortable board ever. Oh yeah one more think you will get a-little more range with the Propel too Idk if longer range is a need for you but it’s surely enough in my Hurricane.

      @esk8nyc@esk8nyc2 жыл бұрын
    • I have the Propel and I too would recommend going with the hurricane. Propel simply isn't nimble enough for your use case and it's incredibly bulky and awkward to carry (I would never go grocery shopping with it). I commute to work every day on an eskate and I find the smaller, "sportier" boards to be way more fun in the city. Propel is an off road king though. Regarding AT wheels, trust me you'll have no problems going over anything the city throws at you.

  • Hey dude, I have the Hurricane and the Endeavor S. Plus a few other boards. Great vid and great information. You may want to check that warranty. They say they have a twelve and six month warranty, but it is really a six and three month warranty. What these board manufactures do is warranty one piece for twelve months and then say they have a twelve month warranty when the key components are only warrantied for six months. Seriously, dig into the warranty and you will see what I am saying. I really like the Propel design, but the Endeavor S battery life is horrible. The LingYi in the Endeavor S is not that great either. With some modes, the Endeavor S could be a great board...and something I will have to do. The Hurricane on the other hand is pretty good out of the box. Not as good a my Zeus, but pretty close. I agree with you on the Hurricane ESC...that thing is great. The VESC in the Eovan GTS is GREAT....love that VESC. Sorry, I digress. Again, great vid. Keep up the work!!

    @esk8ooligan@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you, I totally agree about the warranty, but at the end of the day the board is in our hands and we have to take proper care of it. Also I am not surprised if the Propel Endeavor S due to its price so they had to do a few things here and there, but I highly recommend you get the Endeavor Pro. the acceleration curve is really smooth on the Flipsky ESC and the power is great for such a heavy board. Mind if I ask what do you like about the Zeus that makes it better than the Hurricane in your opinion? Ik a lot of people like the stability of the Zeus and Speed but is there anything else?

      @esk8nyc@esk8nyc2 жыл бұрын
    • Hey I'm thinking of getting the Endeavor Pro for a street/sidewalk commute. I'm 205 with a combined weight with backpack of 210. Thes research I've done doesn't really take the rider that is 220 31 miles. I only need to go 15 miles. Do you recommend this board for me. I have quite a bit of hills to deal with. A gain of at least 250 ft by the time I get to work. Thoughts?

  • I think its a great video but I'm so confused. The propel states a 220 rider can go 31 miles but your study doesn't even come close to that. I'm 205 and looking for a 15 mile communte, with hills, and I'm pretty nervous that I won't make it. Not interested in going 31 miles per hour. 20 is plenty for me. Why am I doing this? To save money on a yearly basis. Any thoughts? Also, the Meepo lasts 500 charge cycles but you weren't clear on the Propel. If I have to change the battery every year, I'll have to take that into the potential savings. Also, how many batteries does the Propel use. 1, 2...Thanks for your time.

    @robertovelarde_staff-marti9696@robertovelarde_staff-marti9696 Жыл бұрын
    • Hey honestly for the Propel my friend is 200lbs and he wouldn’t really get 31mph all the time only if he went a slight slope. Also for the charge cycles Propel never stated how many charge cycles these cells have but Molicel is one of the top cells in the market right now with a high discharge rate for aggressive riding. However you said you wanted a chill commute so I think the Propel is the right one for you the cells have a larger capacity so you will definitely get more range and it will help because your a 220lbs rider. Lastly the battery can definitely last more than a year it’s how you use the battery and you have to properly take care of it.

    • @@esk8nyc wow thanks man for the quick response. I really appreciate your video. It helps with purchasing. Do you know how many batteries you have to have for the Propel? Is the propel slow going up hills?

    • @@robertovelarde_staff-marti9696 If you watch the uphill test 6:01 I explain it there. The Hurricane is definitely better at hill climb than the Propel but that’s only in speed mode 4. The High mode on the propel has better hill climb than speed mode 3 on the hurricane. And speed mode 3 will be higher than medium mode in the Propel Endeavor Pro.

  • What, Hurricane advertises like 44 mile range and it only does around 20??

    @erikm9768@erikm9768 Жыл бұрын
    • Every Electric skateboard company advertises range that you would get if you were 160lbs going 10mph on flat smooth terrain no wind no acceleration no braking constant cruising speed. Realistically under real world conditions that range they advertised is most likely going to be lower. Meepo Claims 44miles range with the 90mm wheels and 31miles with the AT Wheels. I was able to get 32miles of range on tires going 5-10mph the whole time 😂. The faster you go tho the more energy you use so with fast and aggressive riding style you will get less range

  • Nice review. I think the Propel Endeavor has 2*25amps to the motors. It is the battery discharge that is the bottleneck, not the Vesc. Have you checked the amp ratings in the Vesc? Because I think the difference is more like 20Amps (10amps each motor) less on the Propel, and not the 5 Amps you are mentioning. To make it simple, the Hurricane has 40% more power then the propel. The initial torque on the Propel would be the same but going higher then 20km/h, the Hurricane will accellerate faster (on the lower voltage/speed the max motor Amps can be used but then this amps will drop to 25amps at the top speed)

    @mayeurkim@mayeurkim2 жыл бұрын
    • That makes more sense, I’m curious to see what the amp ratings is I would have to get the propel and plug it in. But I also feel like no matter how high your make the Amos for each motor the Meepo Hurricane will still win because it even has an insane acceleration when your at a cruising speed.

I get bad surprise when i open the box, the belt guard was broken and one wheel was deformed and had a flat part what is dangerous. I wrote to customer service to explain and asked for new tire and belt guard, Bonnie write me and tried to say it is my fault not them, I am liar, I broke it... I took pics and videos of broken part to show Bonnie that I didn't ride yet with it. Finally after more than 25 message she said sorry and tell me they will send me belt guard but nothing about the tire, she said I have to repair it what is not possible. Now I write to them but without any answers. ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ Meepo has a bad customer service Finally I don't recommend this brand because if you have any problem you can't get satisfaction.
