You are so absolutely sure about something that you just couldn't be more wrong about. I hope you learn and grow up someday. And don't say "Duh" because so many times I've come to better understand things I thought I was so sure about before and learned just how wrong I was. Your statement is so completely wrong about this woman and I'm sure quite a lot of other women as well so you don't want to make yourself at least feel any more foolish later on when you realize it that you also added a "Duh" to yourself

My mother lost her father and uncle in ww2 and my grandpa, dads dad,who barely survived dday to the ardennes where he was wounded in waffen ss territory. Waffen ss didn't like paratroopers!

  • Amazing how many American hero's came from the fringes of our society. From the Navajo code talkers, to the all Japanese 442nd Infantry Battalion the most decorated US unit of WW2 and the all black unit of Tuskegee airmen who escorted bombers (without loss over a period of months) over Europe. History that needs to be remembered. God Bless Marcella LeBeau and all those who have served and have not received the recognition that they deserve.

I found no mention of such recognition from our own country. She will be 101 years old in October - - it's not too late. • “Every society needs heroes. And every society has them. The reason we don't often see them is because we don't bother to look. There are two kinds of heroes. Heroes who shine in the face of great adversity, who perform an amazing feat in a difficult situation. And heroes who live among us, who do their work unceremoniously, unnoticed by many of us, but who make a difference in the lives of others. Heroes are selfless people who perform extraordinary acts. The mark of heroes is not necessarily the result of their action, but what they are willing to do for others and for their chosen cause. Even if they fail, their determination lives on for others to follow. The glory lies not in the achievement, but in the sacrifice.” Bless you Marcella Lebeau from across the big pond

  • I have such reverence for this brave wonderful veteran . She has so much courage and compassion. Her story brought tears to my eyes. She is so beautiful and has the most kind heart. May god bless her and hold her in his arms and allways watch over her.

  • What a fantastic story. I've read many historical books and seen many documentaries on WWII. This video gave me an entirely different perspective. What a courageous woman.
