As an employee at Micheals, i got sick of seeing people waste the markers like they arent expensive and i usually throw these away so others dont get inspiration to waste.
Happy to see people like you exist, keep this work up!
So, for everyone saying that these are testing markers and you buy the other ones... Yeah that's wrong. They do sell the open markers individually because many time people just want a specific color. These are not cheap and you are supposed to draw some small lines to make sure the marker is not dry or demaged. DON'T use them to actually draw something, it's not ok going to buy an expensive marker just to realize it's out of color after 2 lines.

you’re wasting the ink and just writing in a goofy “live laugh love” font and calling it calligraphy.
it's not that serious
Calligraphy is writing. It's just writing. And she said in another comment chain that she bought the markers she used..
@@jinnahyun5387 I’m sorry, but according to the literal college class I wasted months in lol: calligraphy is the art of producing decorative handwriting. Different styles. I was like “wow okay that’s cool, waste of ink and looks like a literal sketchbook, not a resting little pad of paper they usually have in art stores for testing pens” when I first watched one of her videos, then I realized it’s repetitive the more I went thru. Maybe I came off harsh but calligraphy can be so much more if she branched out. Remember that spongebob episode where he writes an essay and it’s just a big decorative letter - even that followed by normal handwriting is considered calligraphy. It dates back to when written words were just getting started and the first letter of important passages used to be a huge, giant letter filled with drawings and circlets and lines and it was beautiful. This, just goofy cursive over and over. Didn’t mean to sound like a snooty brat but art gets critiqued whether you want it or not. It’s just a suggestion.
@ArtCouture they probably have so many of the same colored markers so why does it matter if one of them runs out ink? 🙄
Also the definition for calligraphy is decorative handwriting or lettering so if you just write something and then decorate it or make it look fancy then it's technically calligraphy
" mom why won't my markers work? "
Ok so I managed to read all the comments and found out that she really deserved the hate comments. There is a freaking difference between testing and doing art. There she was doing "art" when it was meant for testing. Some people in the comments really had the nerve to support like what- they are just some blind people who will support their favourite human no matter what they do. Imagine if someone bought the markers and half of the ink is already wasted. Michael's buisness will obviously kind of go down because there will be so many returns- I seriously expected better from her. Atleast.
This needs to be a top comment so everyone is aware of this.

if you're going to make art then buy the pens. It's as bad as wearing the clothes with the tag on, only to return it with a stain from your night out. People come to buy a full marker not a half used one. Art supplies are already expensive enough.
Doing this is not cute, it’s narcissistic. Just do a small swatch of the marker and write the color code. THAT is what people are looking for in the swatch books, not your social media tag. Getting to go to a physical store to buy an $8+ marker is a luxury for many people, and not getting your money’s worth is infuriating.
The end result was goregeous literally, not kidding, but I kinda agree with the other comments so please please PLEASE next time do it at home and not on a shop in your own not-testing sheet after BUYING the markers.

Sadly, people put it at the bottom too.
i dont think its pretty fair to do this because if you keep using the markers that other people want to buy its going to easily lose ink because a lot of people already tested/used it and even tho you can use it just please dont waste so much ink.

It’s really pretty but if you do that you should buy the markers after so that people aren’t buying used markers ❤
I am sorry I am late but also- Don’t get me wrong- I like what you do- but I don’t see why you must do this on a Michael’s TEST sheet. I once actually bought a silver gel pen once at Michael’s and it was dry once I attempted to use it.. It hurts to see things like this being done-
Oooo I really want some new markers! *steals the markers* *Hides in jacket* YESS wait why my markers run out so fast. WAIT whAaaaaaaaaa.
Michael's doesn't have tester markers. This is cool, but honestly a bit selfish. I don't care about the company losing money, bc they aren't. You're using the markers other people are eventually gonna buy, and not telling them. You're wasting other people's money. Good art, entitled behavior.
Tbh if I saw any good art on a testing sheet i would scribble on it-
Whenever I go to any art store, the markers always run out if ink. Really is a waste, please don't put too much effort into this !!
How to show you have zero sense of common courtesy. Michael’s is going to start locking the markers up. They’re already sick and tired of this. As overpriced as everything is, they stopped the 40% monthly coupon a while ago, most we get now is 20%- barely enough to make a dent unless you use it during sales, and half the markers are used up, the nibs already run through, each time you open it you expose it to more air, it’s just so selfish and so obtuse. I don’t understand how people don’t have a natural sense of shame with stuff like this. I used to be terrified to take more than one sample at the food sample stations, it didn’t matter how much they had, it didn’t matter if they told me to have another, I just couldn’t do it. It felt wrong. How do people just do stuff like this without a second thought? Bring your own markers if that’s the case.
Oh so this is why every time I go shopping for markers they are horrible thank you to people who are like this
Why did you have to overrun them over each other TOO? Now if someone were to buy those markers you should’ve payed for, they won’t even have the correct color, even worse they might not even have any ink left because you used it all in a TESTING PAD!
This is such a big waste, you could have brought the markers and done that when you got home instead of doing it on a TESTING PAD because they'll throw it away at some point, atleast you buy them that's a good thing but you shouldn't do this at artist shops
She stated that she always buys the markers. I assume it is the same for this
