Your coach is terrifying. All I have to say. He's capitalizing so easily on any mistakes, managing the range, and He's also either messing up your rhythm, or making you fight at his pace. All the while he had his hands down. Surprising to see he isn't in Karate Combat yet. He'd piece up a lot of people real fast.
Yea he’s good👍
@@nathearnwhat style do you use I want a style that’s effective in a real fight I don’t want to waste time yk?😂
@@nathanmccampbell2540 I believe he does Okinawan Karate. Don't take my work exactly because I don't know what he does, but I do Nahate Okinawan Karate and it look similar to how he is fighting.
@@Kidzay009 thank you
@@Kidzay009I do Okinawan kenpo and it seems similar to my style some of it and it’s legit I’ve used in a fight mixed with boxing
I didn’t know John was your sensei. What an amazing sensei to have. You are blessed and lucky to have such an amazing athlete and karateka as your coach. I love his channel. Some great stuff there.
👍👊👊
@@nathearn👍👊👊👊
Yes I didn't know either I often watch his videos and wish I could train with him. I see why you are so good now.
Your coach is on a whole another level! 😮 I can see why you would want to learn from him.
👍👊👊
@@Oscartrew The usual pointless small talk..
@murasakilancelot7909 mate u do karate shut up
when this guy sees red its over@@Oscartrew
@@BocchidrawsHe definitely strikes first.
The way you guys spar really restores my faith in karate. There is so much nuance and high quality striking, blocking and head movements. Will definitely enjoy seeing more of this content. Perhaps add a round that also allows some take downs because I feel that that is quite important to simulate a fight, perhaps no need to add ground work because that is too far removed from karate and this kind of exercise.
Appreciate it, yeah we will definitely do more and can add in takedowns and stuff👍👊
Karate=useless
that would be so cool and thanks for your response!@@nathearn
or just say u can't fight@@Oscartrew
@@Oscartrewdid you even watch the video?
man you're footwork's looking great. You should really make a tutorial about it! I would love to learn more about it as a karateka
Appreciate it man, will try to get a video out on it👍
I second this! Love watching you move.
Man, you can never get enough sparring. When I started sparring at around 12 years, I would do it a lot less frequently compared to now and I really didn't like it back then (I didn't fully understand its importance and how enjoyable it can be if you treat it as a learning experience). Now, I'm in high school and I love sparring when I get the chance. Each training session that I spar in, I feel like I always come out of it with just a little bit more knowledge. Thanks for making great and relatable content, Nat!
Yeah it’s a great thing for development👍thank you bro👊
@nathearn hey man. I've learned a lot because of you. I'm getting into a graduation in Taekwondo tomorrow. I'm hopefully becoming a green belt. The only thing I really want is you to reply and say good luck or anything like that. Keep it up, I'm learning from you
I'm here because some dude commented on one of my videos and told me I should give back my black belt. When I asked why and who he would hold up as the standard for black belts, he said I wasn't anywhere near as fast or as skilled as Nat Hearn. So take that as a compliment, I guess. Even my trolls are your fans. 🤣 I knew who you were, but hadn't watched you spar. This is cool. It's clear your coach is bringing out the best in you (except for a little too much tension maybe). Love your head movement and combos. I've seen your coach's videos on Insta. Sharp, technical karate. It's great to see that reflected here with some contact and a spirit of play. Well done!
this looks gorgeous mate. I’ve watched a lot of competition tae kwon do which is quite start stop but seeing the fluidity of Karate when you’re sparring is so beautiful. Love how you drop down a level for body strikes when punching, the stance switching and shifting of balance is amazing to see. Really made me appreciate this style so much more watching this video
I loved this. Proper martial arts looks and feels more like an intricate and beautiful dance rather than simple mindless combat. I would love to see it more often
Will do it more👍
Good thing coach was in a good mood
Nat is the best! Love the long form videos bro! You are such a legend!
Appreciate that bro!👊
I've enjoyed John's videos for a while as well as yours, nearly 30 odd year karateka here. Love it!
I thought you and John trained together didn't know he was your coach, that's is awesome. I regularly follow you, John and Terry Birkett (he's Kyokushin karateka like myself) since you three are my favorite UK karatekas. Side note started your flexibility program over the weekend. It's gonna take me longer than 3 months since a few of the stretches I have a difficult time getting into some of them, let a lone actually holding.
Thank you👊and let me know how the program goes👍
Your coach is definitely your coach. He is really a good one despite being older than u, not a trace of slowing down. Excellent timing and precision.
Why is no one talking about how clean this is. 2 people who are obsessed with mastering the art of moment in striking. Beautiful stuff man .
Appreciate that man👊👊
I train long guard, and the way your coach combines it with the philly shell is very clean it really inspires me. I can't comment much on the kicks since I don't have a lot of knowledge in that area :-)
👍thanks for the support
Enjoyed! Much more head movement, front kicks, retracting hand being kept at the jaw when punching, kicks being caught and use of leg kicks than I would expect to see in traditonal karate. You've adapted your art to be more practical for full contact sparring. Hopefullly more traditional dojos follow suit. Well done
Damn I am quite literally the *second here, hello! Love your content Nat, you get straight to the point and the quality of your videos is great!
Thank you for the support mate👊👊
Ive been wanting to see you spar for quite some time so this is a real treat for me
Nice, will do more👍
man you gotta make more of these. i learnt a lot from this 6 mins video
The sparring in 2x speed looks insane and keep up the good work nat
Nat Hearn, your videos are amazing inspiring and exciting to watch. Nearly at 1million!!🎉
Appreciate that! Hopefully soon👊💪
Appreciate that! Hopefully soon👊💪
This is so awesome. I go to a kickboxing gym and I got so much from this.
I like this a lot you should definitely do more Also, your coach is a wizard!
Hahah will do💪
YES please more The legs only round was amazing from both of you that was crazy to watch
This is very entertaining to see! I love how you are very good at dodging, blocking and footwork...
That double sweep was lowkey smooth legs only💯🔥
this was awesome. I'm new to karate so i didn't understand much of the techniques shown but i really liked it. I would really like to see more content like this and maybe even a video of sparring tips?
I love your vids you showed up on my feed when I was thinking about picking up a martial art i even practice some moves you so funny enough haha
Through watching both y’all’s content I did notice you guys have similar technique. Awesome sparring 👍.
This was very good! The only other karate sparring that I had seen was the boring tournament stuff. this was very fast, and interesting to watch.
There's also a sparring exercise called "kumite"(no it isn't some mythical mortal Kombat tournament lol) it's where the whole class lines up in front of eachother and you spar each person for a minute or two and move on to the next until you have fought everyone atleast 2-3 times. Continuously for atleast an hour or two.
@@willtherealrustyschacklefo3812 We do something similar to that for the black belt tests at my Taekwondo gym.
Thank you glad you enjoyed👊
I was looking for karate sparring video and your video was what I wanted :)
A good trick to do when someone leans back after your jab is to immediately follow up with another jab while they are still in the leanback position. Something that has helped me a lot.
Great Sparring Nat, You're definitely got Skills. Also, Happy Holidays🎄🎄🎄🎄🥋🥋🥋🥋🤝🤝🤝🤝👊👊👊👊
Nice and light. Time to polish up technique. Perfect pace. Wonderful respect shown
This video really helpt me, now i can do technics from this to my own sparring. thanks💪
Nice bro👊
Fantastic to watch. I'll be taking my shodan next December so I need to be this good. Tempted with your stretching and flexibility programme.
Nice, and let me know if you do get the program👊
Yes, that was eggscellent. Getting very skilled. Nice work! 10/10 Enjoyed.
We'll do another one soon 🤜🤛🥋
👍👊
You inspired me to start tkd. Tysm for bring you. Keep up the goodwork mate❤❤
Hah, that's ironic, considering how he roasts tkd on occasion! Nevertheless, he'd be proud of you for training, as am I. Kamsahamnida
That’s good to hear. Keep up the training💪
Told ya!
you both are so good at karate! i hope i can be as good one day, aiming to be as good as you Nat, dreaming to be as good at your sir coach!
nat you are the goat, great inspiration ooossss👊🥋
This whole time I was wondering who was whos coach, you're both so good!
I really enjoyed this video! I would love to see more like this. Also, you look really nice in your gi.
The coach should be the proudest person alive
Hahah thank you👊
I’m not a karate practitioner but I can’t lie, you guys make your kicks look so much crispier lmao
I just love to see the head work of your coach. Its pretty good
Those kicking moves were just- wow… especially when you fell trying to do a spinny kick when you were trying to get away from your coach’s grasp💀💀
Wow, your coach is great. You both did a great job.
One of the things I learned in life was never challenge the master. This guy was going easy on you.
They’re both going easy it’s sparring not a death match lmao
@lasaintegarnouille3632 I know that I was saying that his coach was going easy on him. They both have quick reflexes and good agility in sparing but if it was a real match coach would have won.
Haha for sure
@@angryfoxzd5233 obviously, that’s his coach
The coach will always win.
Great Sparring! Keep it up Nat! 💪
Thanks bro will do👊
Love this! This was awesome!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you👊👊
Hey Nat, been watching your videos for a while, I can't help but admire the skills you've honed especially compared to myself who just trained in Martial Arts for almost a month this year. Question that I have, ever thought of participating in the next season of Rokas' season 2 of Ultimate Self-Defense Championship or maybe save it for season 3 ; )
Nathern: gave one kick Coach: I will give you ten kicks
Good knowledge in sparring being 18 yr old girl and a beginner in martial arts it really helped ....thanku My favourite Sir❤lots of love✨
Same here sister
Thank you👊
Nat I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDS
Your coach plays more safe and you take many chances and keep up The good work
you're amazing bro!! keep it up!
Thank you bro will do👊👊
@@nathearn I also train karate and your my inspiration 🥋💪
Ah finally. Yesssss. Why didnt i get this notification. Ive been dying to know your sensei. Yessss.
what he meant was: round 1-boxing round 2- taekwondo round 3- karate
Love it Nat, I recently subbed to John. Seems like a great guy. I’d love to spar with you guys.
Dudes warmup round is looking like my regular rounds 😭
The fact is sparring with coach is the tuffest job
1) Hands use = Boxing 2) Legs use = Taekwondo 3) Hands and Legs = Karate
Nah your coach is too powerful
Got the flexibility program yesterday! Let's gooooo
Nice let me know how it goes👊
When he goes for the rear leg roundhouse, you can counter with a reverse inside hook. Very effective in point sparring
Can you please make a footwork totorial video i started karate 2 years ago before this i was in mma and i can't manage to get this kind of footwork and by the way your coach technique is crazy good I can't even understand how can you spar him your great
oh boy, after watching the sparring i got some questions in my mind. Being a black belt in karate 1st dan and doing shotokan style, my first question is do you practice kata with kumite and my second question is what style or form of karate do you learn like me learning shotokan style. love your videos. Grow bigger
Looks very similar to our dojo. Its re-assuring to myself that I'm at a good place to train.
coach>>>
Love it man❤
Idk about karate but I kind of noticed your legs getting real close, sometimes crossing, but y’know your the expert, we just don’t do that in kickboxing. Anyway great video, your amazing man!
Yeah boyyyyy so dope, 1:38 - back again with some hilarious editing, that moment of regret captured on your face lol
😂😂thank you
You are an excellent martial artist and great mentor for others, I really apprecciate what you are doing. I do karate from nearly 10 years, I have done wado ryu and currently goju ryu style and always used sports karate gloves for kumite. I know that you do shotokan but in karate you dont spar with boxing gloves and you are not allowed to throw boxing punches, moreover, in competitions you fight with the small gloves as i said you. I know that you want to stop the karate hate but I’ve never seen or done kumite sparring with boxing gloves on
Dude that was clean i love that❤
Thank you bro💪
Damn, you inspired me man, because of u, i learned to fight. I only use fighting techniques when I need to, and not for show offs. Ty man keep going!
Nice, keep up the training bro👍
Thx man
This is why coach is coach
Man this looks so fun, I want a coach lol but I train at home instead
Great body punches my good man, kicks are solid as expected I mean you are karate practitioner hoho, very good all around
Appreciate this mate💪
Those kicks to calf by your coach was insane in warmup. Legit targeting the same leg iirc. If that was real that would be a no go.
Your coach is a beast. Who would have thought. 😅
whats very interesting is how the couch switches between stances and how much it helped with his attack
Your coach is awesome Nat and I love the longer video
Thank you man👊👊
I do multiple round sparring as well. Grappling only Strikes only Both allowed
Ur almost at 1m subscribers!! 🎉
God damn nat you are amazing much love❤
Thank you bro💪
he makes it look so easy
Hi Nat, I practice karate from nearly 10 years, you are such a great source of inspiration, i follow you from your first bag and you are doing an excellent job as a mentor for other martial artists, i really look for you. I have also noticed that through your channel you want to create respect for karate and demonstrate that it is as serious and effective as other martial arts and sports that are full contact like MMA that is currently really popular. Always considering that sports karate is only semicontact. I am a fan of yours and I understand that you want to bring karate closer to full contact martial arts and sports. However what I dont get is why you always show sparring with boxing gloves, I have practiced wado ryu and goju ryu karate and in kumite sparring we always have used sports karate gloves, I have seen videos of you performing katas when you were a child but never seen you competing in kumite
This is a great video. I'd love to see more of these and a little more commentary. I don't know anything about any types of fighting. I could tell couch crowded you more with hands only, but you crowded him with legs only.
This is amazing and absolutely lovely. I have been trying to mix up my kicks because I am weaker in my wrists. This is amazing for learning! Thank you. Some questions though: my sensei says that I am not allowed to make low kicks. Is that because of the form we are training in, or because I am still a blue belt? Also; what are some mixups for kicks wich I can train for sparring. Amazing content, keep it up!
Bad gym if u can’t lowkick
As far as I know its not a traditional target area in karate or taekwondo. That said if you wanna learn to fight maybe look into some different dojos or gyms.
Some dojos might not teach low kicks in their syllabus, and thank you I will👊
It’s about snapping femurs and destroying ACL’s a good dojo wants you training for longevity so even a light mewashigeri can destroy the knee then you can’t train. My dojo does it too but better to be safe then sorry. If anyone messes with you in the streets though..😈👺👹
Great sparring. Lovely footwork. Nice to see.
waiting for your 1M subs milestone cause you need to blow up
Hopefully soon💪
All this sparring but I’m 260 brother (but seriously watching you guys is so much fun I wished more karate guys would compete in kickboxing let alone spar kickboxing)
All martial arts stem from the same root and you should learn from each other. There are multiple ways to the top of the martial summit. Add combatives and pressure test them fully. Keep going Nat. Ous.
Aswome! I'm glad to see that there are still dojos practicing karate in an old effective way. I'm tired of seeing pepole refering to sport karate as the real karate.
I think what would be interesting is your coach giving advice to you after the sparring session if you make a video like this again.
Could do this👍
4:39 THAT WAS PURE GOLD HAHAHAHAH🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤝
I really liked this video I’m not going to lie good job
