Max was just keeping it real. Learning a language you didn't grow up speaking is harder than learning it because your parents speak it
100% for sure
I agree. Even if it wasn't cuz your parents spoke it, if you learn a language in school from a young age it's a lot easier to grasp than if you were to start learning the same language as an adult. Ik a lot of countries outside of the us make language a part of the curriculum very young
That's not groundbreaking though. Of course the language you learned when your brain didn't already have another language in it is gonna be easier to learn. We all know that learning a language is harder to learn when older. Not impossible though. And if he actually had the discipline to do it, he would've done it.
I don’t think that measure intelligence but more dedication and drive to learn something foreign
Bro like frat up if you like agree
The way that Karim described smartness vs intelligence was so insightful and well put
Not really
he contradicted himself like 5 times
He just mansplained
i promise u it isnt LOL
tbh intelligence test have different definitions of inteligence. A comprehensive test will most probably test for both types of intelligence, what he called "smartness" vs "intelligence", in reality they are called "fluid" intelligence and "crystallized" intelligence.
these guys surprisingly seem really sweet and respectful i love this
The best ❤
The short little tests that they take are not real IQ tests. A real IQ test takes multiple hours, is administered by a professional, and often very expensive. It's also not just a bunch of pattern recognition questions. There are a wide variety of questions that present different kinds of problems to study a range of problem solving skills. These scores might reflect a vague ranking of intelligence among them, but they no way indicate their real IQ levels.
That’s why they clarified that it’s a Mensa test…
@@LCrivel mensa tests take longer than that though no? i heard it's a couple of hours long
IQ is all about "Speed", just remember that. and the shorter mensa version is legit, its an "approximate" test, which mensa have stated in their website.
this is literally what a IQ test is, what ur talking about is not IQ per se, maybe an intelligence test, and i know that makes it confusing since IQ stands for intelligence quotient, but the one they take in the video where you answer multiple choice questions where you try to recognize patterns, is what an iq test is in its original form.
It’s edited and shortened down dummy it’s a full length mensa test
Phu definitely put himself lower just cause he didn’t want to make people feel unintelligent
Well he also got second last...
Phu deffo has high Eq

This was such a nice episode! Everyone was so real, nice and understanding. Makes me have hope for this country and world for the future.
❤
This was way more wholesome than the last iq episode 💀❤️
Fr the last one the degree girl was going off talking about her accomplishments then being last
Cuz these men didn't have egos like the women at the other video
Honestly doesn’t take much
@@psychobillynumbnuts1lnceI comment
I mean the top guy was clearly the most intellegent.
Wanting to be kind to everyone and then only being off by two adjacent swaps is really impressive.
They worked it out without making each other feel bad. They worked it out alot better than that Strangers rank their intelligence episode. They were putting down the military guy in that episode, and he was more intelligent than the majority of them.
I'm glad they didn't have the tension that frat boys have towards dudes from other frats
Such a good cast!
This was all-round wholesome! I like how them ranking each other was so respectful and somewhat objective.
I like phu, seems like a chill guy, all of them do
This is cool! Usually in these videos they try and put themselves on top but in this one everyone was so humble!
these iq test are not reilable, typically a real IQ tests is given by a qualified individual (a psychologist), and consist of different types of questions.
I've taken official proctored in-person tests and the online Mensa test, and the types of questions are pretty much the same for both. There's really not any practical difference between the online and in-person tests. The difference is really just the testing environment
@@simplyepic3258 no they're not, why are you lying
@@spicywo1f105 I'm not. Whether the Mensa IQ test is on paper or online, it's just giving you logic puzzles. There's no significant difference between the questions in either situation.
@@simplyepic3258The official mensa test isn't a real test either. A real iq test is something like the WAIS IV or the SBV
@@simplyepic3258 Yeah but a real IQ test isn't just logic puzzles. That's only part of it. Theres also memory tests and verbal tests.
aint never been this early. i just finished watching 5 black women vs 1 asian woman 😂

I watched that to but I watched a different version Lol
Its interesting that their self perception matches closely with group ratings. I think we dont want to admit but differences in intelligence are real and readily apparent.
These guys seem so much more down to earth than the other people who ranked each others IQs. They had a wider range of scores and more accurately ranked each other despite having lower scores for the most part than the other people. I was impressed how each one kept saying, “You must be smarter than me, you move up” and this seemed to happen at least three times. These guys aren’t as intellectual as the other group but seem socially smarter
Well they did have some vocal high iq individuals to help…
Wow this is a positive and healthy discussion between young men who understand different facets of intelligence which is rare. Also the majors and their strengths are varied which they played around with in the discussion with an uplifting tone to make each individual feel confident
7:30 putting him at spot number 3 because he watches anime is wild. Men of culture.
New demon slayer season went hard
This was because he watches them in JAPANESE!
Operationalising intelligence as "being able to watch anime in Japanese" should become the new scientific standard lol
@@christinabs5636They assumed he’s watching it w/o subtitles. Most people watch anime in Japanese 😂 the dubbed English version sucks.
I appreciate that Phu brought up that Frat =/= Fraternity
Huh isn’t frat just an abbreviation of fraternity?
@@achillesroblox Yes but he explained in the video that the term 'frat' / 'frat boys' is stigmatised. He explained the stereotype and stigmatised term =/= what he believes a fraternity really is or stands for.
Im not American, what does frat boy mean
loved this vid everyone was so nice to each other this is how it should be
Why did they put Karim first just because he does chemistry WHILE AT THE SAME TIME saying intelligence isn’t related to your major…?
There's this thing neurotypical people do that took me over 30 years to figure out, but uhh, the answer is that people constantly lie about things that make other people even the least bit uncomfortable while thinking in their heads that the exact opposite of what they just said is true. People suck.
Oh my gawd the bro's were wholesome af.
If the “IQ test” really was only 35 questions and self-administered it was a meaningless test. IQ cannot be adequately measured unless administered by a psychologist using one of the standardized tests like WAIS-IV. It would be interesting to see a video where they actually correctly measure their IQ.
You’re speaking truth👍
It may not be completely accurate but it’s not meaningless. Test like that tend to have a strong correlation to official IQ tests
@@TheLegend-mu6zg yes, on a population level there might be a strong correlation. But that correlation is meaningless on an individual basis when used to measurement an individuals IQ
Well obviously they don't have that as an option, they're making a Jubilee video, they do with what they have. These tests still measure problem solving skills and give you some form of a number to go off. Also based on the conversations with the group the test did seem to be sort of accurate, the guy in the white definitely did seem like he was below average intelligence, and the two guys who got the highest scores definitely seemed like the smartest. I have no idea how people like the guy in the white tank top even get accepted into college.
@@jacobcolombo3158 obviously wrong, go learn what test reliability means
These puzzles shown from the test were fun to think through thanks for showing them
What did you get for them? I couldn't figure out the last one but I had A, A, E, F for the first four
Last one should be A@@elijahernst843
I had same answers as you and another F for final question, I think it is correct but I can’t explain why fully lol they all have one ball that stays on the same side, that leaves you with A and F, from here I don’t see why the box would disappear so I would settle on F with dodgy reasoning If It is F I would like to know the actual logic involved rather that my explanation lol
@@iamaced479It’s A. You combine the two shapes and the squares, circles, and dots that line up you keep. Once you combine them you just symmetrically flip the symbols across the line to get the final shape. Hope that makes sense
I am here for the humility! 😊
This definitely shed some sterotypes on frat boys everyone seemed intelligent
Glad to have given you a new perspective!
...this is because they cherry picked a bunch of guys that don't fit the stereotype.

IQ is a GREAT predictor of success. Jordan Peterson has a great presentation explaining this. The questions in the IQ tests have been refined specifically for how well the score correlates with success.
That guy Phu is dope!
Mine was 122 when I took it 15 years ago... while I think I am wiser and overall better at life, I think I'd do worse on the test now... I feel like I've lost so much.
Everyone feels that way which is why IQ tests are normed by age. You probably haven't lost much IQ unless you've sustained severe brain damage. It's an incredibly sad fact of life, but our brains do lose some power with age.
I’ve done a real IQ test. Took hours. And I got 107. When I take the online ones it says 140 and all these big scores. So I’m sure the one they did makes your score higher than it is
They seem to have done the mensa Norway test which people say is somewhat accurate but it’s an online one.
Did you pay for your online test?
@@devonairlines763 unfortunately yes. I paid for one online and have done other free ones
So if it makes your score higher than it actually is, does that mean that the guys who got 97 and 107 actually had even lower scores? Dang.
They had me take an iq test when i was admitted to a hospital and it took at least a solid 24 hours or more (spread out over a week). Even with that I don’t agree with the result (it’s too high imo), I just can’t see how these online/simple computer tests can be accurate tbh
Test answers if anyone is wondering: 1. A 11. A 22. E 26. F 32. A (If first two are same, then it stays in third one and mirror rotates)
the only time ive ever enjoyed listening to frat bros
they definitely mostly accurately rated themselves
They were really close. Kudos to them for being humble.
“you’re gonna be making IG reels” 🤣🤣
If you saw that one with the first impressions, you notice a tiny difference between people who don't thing themselves as world centers of interesting when they are together and when you get someone with this kind of mindset in a group.
I really liked this one!
Wish we got more to hear from Alexis
I read about a study that said the smartest people usually don't earn the most.
Id be curious to see those who have served in the military rank themselves
This could be interesting...
Karim was put at the top just for his major. Did they not see the episode with the girl who put herself first because of her major/job?
eq one yesss
I mean, they have to work with the info they get
@@phi180 but they didn’t change him and he didn’t add anything to cement his spot at the top. They got one thing and went With it and didn’t consider anything else.
@@phi180 I guess I just feel like he said his major, went to the top and called it a day. He didn’t add anything. Nothing about him would’ve put him at the top other than his major. On top of that, lots of STEM majors fail out after the first two or three years. Just because it’s your major, it doesn’t say anything about your IQ. I feel like he should’ve proved why he should be at the top. It worked out for him, but last time it didn’t work out.
you seem like a hater. he still scored 128 which was -2 from the MENSA level. Hop off.
This is adorable.
I loved the men didn't brag about anything and actually got really close to a first indication. A true IQ test however takes MUCH much longer. And to comment on one thing. If you can't finish an IQ test in time due to the difficulty of the questions. The missed answers also indicate your IQ.

Now do Frat boys vs Tyler from the military
The way this men analyze each other before the test was just amazing. And after the test result, their guess was very close too. I took a similar IQ test online, and I can never know for sure if the result was real. I got 134.

People with average or lower IQs will defend their egos by focusing on other qualtities such as socialing skills or the ability or willingness to concentrate or work hard. IQ measures mental capacity. It is a sign of your potential. Whether you are able to realise that potential is a different matter.
I'm telling ya, it's often the quietest ones at the top.
IQ is only about the capacity to learn. There are 2 other quotients, social and emotional , the latter includes time management, and procrastination.
What a great group!
the fact that i instantly knew that chris was going to be highest just by the looks of his macbook
I knew he was the smartest because he was really witty
IQ test that I took was longer and harder, and probably more accurate.
Mensa norway is one of the better matrix reasoning tests you can take. The reason it is so much shorter is because it only measures matrix reasoning which is a subtest of an index of a real IQ test. Doesn't mean it isn't valid or meaningless, just that you are getting a microcosm of your true ability. That being said, matrix reasoning is one of the two most highly g loaded subtests, and is therefore statistically likely to be pretty close to your actual full scale IQ score. The test actually holds up quite well in terms of its norms and if anything is slightly deflated for most due to some selection bias during the norming process. Keep in mind that almost everyone on the planet, including yourself, is not obsessed enough with IQ testing to really understand the first things about it. (Enter me, the OCD psychologist that does this for a living)
I hope the two lawyer guys become best friends
I wanna be friends with them 🥹
I instantly knew Karim and Chris would be the top two.
How did you know that? 🫣

Max is at the end, the talk is about the intelligence quotient and who's got more of it, intellect and intelligence are two different things.
they definitely had to take the test first and then evaluate themselves. Because there was a lot of research into how assessment of others affects cognitive abilities
You guys are using the raven's test here, the rankings might change with other tests. This is using the mensa iq challenge, now Pho needs to be informed that you dont actually have to complete the test to get a high score.

Frats have a negative stigma. I visited a friend at UCSB and we went to a frat party at the tiki house ((iykyk) and well yes you have to know someone to get in once you’re in they’re very welcoming. I didn’t even go to UCSB and one of the frat guys offered me a handle. Great experience and I wish I would’ve joined a frat in college but glad I got that experience.
It really depends on the campus. Some state schools have really bad cultures, but there’s equally as many campuses with healthy fraternity culture
