    • I agree. Even if it wasn't cuz your parents spoke it, if you learn a language in school from a young age it's a lot easier to grasp than if you were to start learning the same language as an adult. Ik a lot of countries outside of the us make language a part of the curriculum very young

      @andromeda1515@andromeda151511 ай бұрын
    • That's not groundbreaking though. Of course the language you learned when your brain didn't already have another language in it is gonna be easier to learn. We all know that learning a language is harder to learn when older. Not impossible though. And if he actually had the discipline to do it, he would've done it.

  • The short little tests that they take are not real IQ tests. A real IQ test takes multiple hours, is administered by a professional, and often very expensive. It's also not just a bunch of pattern recognition questions. There are a wide variety of questions that present different kinds of problems to study a range of problem solving skills. These scores might reflect a vague ranking of intelligence among them, but they no way indicate their real IQ levels.

  • People with average or lower IQs will defend their egos by focusing on other qualtities such as socialing skills or the ability or willingness to concentrate or work hard. IQ measures mental capacity. It is a sign of your potential. Whether you are able to realise that potential is a different matter.

    • Mensa norway is one of the better matrix reasoning tests you can take. The reason it is so much shorter is because it only measures matrix reasoning which is a subtest of an index of a real IQ test. Doesn't mean it isn't valid or meaningless, just that you are getting a microcosm of your true ability. That being said, matrix reasoning is one of the two most highly g loaded subtests, and is therefore statistically likely to be pretty close to your actual full scale IQ score. The test actually holds up quite well in terms of its norms and if anything is slightly deflated for most due to some selection bias during the norming process. Keep in mind that almost everyone on the planet, including yourself, is not obsessed enough with IQ testing to really understand the first things about it. (Enter me, the OCD psychologist that does this for a living)

I visited a friend at UCSB and we went to a frat party at the tiki house ((iykyk) and well yes you have to know someone to get in once you’re in they’re very welcoming. I didn’t even go to UCSB and one of the frat guys offered me a handle. Great experience and I wish I would’ve joined a frat in college but glad I got that experience.
