POLESTAR 2 IN DEPTH REVIEW OF INFOTAINMENT AND SETUP
This is my Polestar 2 infotainment review after owning the car for 2 weeks. The Polestar 2 infotainment is based on Google android and as a result works exactly like a phone and is very easy to use. The user interface is very clear and as a new user you will have no issues using the system. The only thing that is a little tricky is setting up the device for the first time in the Polestar 2. You must make sure that you have both keys sitting in the cup holder otherwise you will not be able to setup the car. The Polestar 2 need to have both keys present in order for it to allow you to setup an Owner profile. Once you have setup and logged in to your Polestar account you then have to accept the privacy policy and Internet policy. This is the hardest part of the setup when you initially get your Polestar 2. After that is easy and you should find it simple to operate.

Hi Mark, thanks for the helpful video. I'm in the US and have had my Polestar for less than a week. I'm having major problems with the tablet screen randomly rebooting frequently. 6 times so far today. My Polestar service center is clueless and can't schedule me in until July to check it out. Have you ever had this rebooting issue?
Hi Dave,sorry to hear you are having issues. I have only had mine for two weeks and so far had no issues with the tablet or the car. Have you got the latest software update? Have you tried holding the home button down to reset the system? If you have the tablet sounds faulty either way it may be an app causing it to crash. I would try deleting any apps you have installed e.g KZhead music etc and see if the problem stops. Thanks for your comment let me know how you get on
One other thing you can also try is setting up a new user account and seeing if that account has the same issue or not at least that way you have tried everything.
@@markshonestreviewsandhealt6953 Thanks Mark for the ideas. I just did a factory reset on the reset options. I will have to finish the setup process later as it was giving me a message that it couldn’t make an internet connection. I’ll let you know how it goes once I figure out the internet issue now.
I don’t have the ‘Driver Support’ tab on my menu option. I am not able to ause the adaptive or steering assist functions. Do you know why this tab is not on my screen as an option for the cruise control?
Hey, I got a question why my temp is not synching? The synch button is greyed out for me and whenever I click it, it doesn't change.
That seems a bit strange my default is that it syncs I have to manually choose it to have different temperatures
Why not play YT music on the phone over BT in the car if the car has no internet?
I'm sure you could do loads of things via your phone mate, but it's pretty inconvenient especially when you're driving and it just cuts off. I just want it to work to be honest especially when you pay so much money for a vehicle you just want the easiest option, but yes you could probably stream via your phone if you have a signal. Not something I would do. Cheers
Can you have two phones connected at once?
Yes, but only one can make phone calls the other can play music etc
Diescar cover lte speeds for life or only while in warranty, if not can u use your phones jot spot
Personally I dislike the UI. Wish more manufacturers dedicated as much effort as Tesla on that. On the bright side, the Apple announced car UI will be supported by Polestar.
I have one of these cars on order and I am seriously considering canceling it. I have a huge music library. If this car does not allow you to play your own music it is a big FAIL in my book.
Yes I fully agree with you it has been a real let down for me. Hopefully they will see that people need this function and correct it with the next update
They've added the ability for this in the 2.2 update, third party apps can play media from a USB drive

Given this is Android Automotive, you can be confident there will be or is already a way - official one soon or through a 3rd party app. If this was some Apple product, then yeah, potentially not seeing it for years coming if they decide not to include.
